I'm a poor man and the only reason I have this computer is because my Step Father Bougyht it for me as a gift. So if my waranty has expired Will you still do a clean up and tune up on my HP PAVILION Model number h8-1240t S/N is [Personal Information Removed] and product number is A5U31AV#BA, no cost, if my Waranty has Expired? HP's warranty is for a period of one year. Your computer is over 3 years old. You waited far too long for help from HP.

The absolute best thing you can do is a System Recovery. Here are some guides to help you:

Read all of the sections carefully. You should backup your personal data before beginning. It will be deleted when the drive is formatted.
The System Recovery will take your computer back to how it was when you first got it. It should be much faster. If you need further help, please don't hesitate to ask.

Today, i met a problem: Application cannot connect to database because database hang ( I also cannot connect to database with sqlplus) . Check alert log, only one error:
WAITED TOO LONG FOR A ROW CACHE ENQUEUE LOCK! pid=26This error not only appear first time, but also happen every one month. I must reset server for database release all memory but I think It isn't a true solution!
Could you give a recommend for this.

The Row Cache is actually the Data Dictionary Cache. It is where definitions from the data dictionary (tablespaces, objects, users etc) are loaded into memory.
There would be an associated trace file written with the occurrence of this warning.

Waiting too long for an answer for waiting too long

For the past month and a half I have been monitoring this discussion area and working with Apple Support and all to no avail. I seem to be the only person on the planet with this problem.............still.
I bought a 17" PB last July and with it the Airport Extreme package with the mushroom on the shelf. I have also accepted every update that has come along since then. All of a sudden, a procedure that I have been doing since July of last year, and coincidently time with a update to the computer and Airport, I can no longer do. It was possible to be on-line wirelessly at 100' minimum from my computer room and the Airport module. On occasion, I could eek out a signal at 150' in the master bedroom at the far end of the house. Now, if I should venture 15' from the computer room, I don't have a signal.
I have been through Apple support twice, taken my computer to the dealer for inspection,(which i passed), and tried just about every idea that has been put forward as a fix in this discussion area.
Two things have not happened: one, nothing has fixed the problem, and two, no one has seemingly come up with the fix. But more perplexing is the fact that no one is concerned.
Something has happened and I would really like to fix the problem.
And that is my rant for the year.

Monty, Let's start by first welcomeing you to the discussions.
The problem you mention is not unusual, There are several things that seem to cause this, the least of which appear to be caused by your Internet Service Provider, but not always..
Now your problem..
Start by first DO Not Change Any of your settings, especially if it was working correctly.
Next shut your computer clear off.
Unplug the AC Adapter from your Internet Service Providers Modem.
Unplug the AC Adapter from your Airport Extreme Base.
Make sure you have all periphials unplugged.
Now here is the hardest part is the wait.
Wait a minimum of 5 minutes..
After this wait. plug in your Internet Service providers Modem.
Wait until it re-aquires all of the lights, ( Normally 3) Depending on there Modem.
After you get your lights, plug back in your Airport Extreme Base Station.
Again you have to wait on your Base to Aquire the lights..
After you have all the lights on both your Modem and your Airport extreme base then and only the you can re-start your Computer...
Normally this will fix your problem..However, I have had to do this up to 3 times exactly as I said, to get everything to work correctly.
I have done this several times as I said caused by storms, Providers maintence and the like. a power blip several things can cause it..
Try what I mentioned an it should work for you, as I said if your settings are correct.. .......Do Not Get In A Hurry.......This can take upwards of 1/2 hour to complete.
Don't forget to check this also.

Refund .... have waited too long

I ordered for a Toshiba laptop with other accessories on the 30th of May with order number (removed per forum guidelines). I was charged $551.12. The order was supposed to arrive on the 2nd of June however, arrived on the 4th of June without the laptop. I called bestbuy to request for the laptop and they agreed to send to me with expedited delivery on the 5th of June. The laptop did not arrive. I later received an email on the 5th that the laptop will arrive on the 6th but until the 8th of June when it had not arrived, i called bestbuy to return the laptop since i was leaving for Ghana on the 9th. So i returned the accesories to State College, PA bestbuy where they refunded the money for the accesories ($83.20).
I was told by best buy from State College that when best buy receives the laptop they will refund the rest of the money to me. On the 23rd of June, i received an email saying that the laptop has been received successfully by best buy however, there is no credit attached to it so i will not receive any money. I have called several times, but to no avail. In some of the conversation with the personnel at best buy, i had been promised to wait for 5, 10 and 30 business working days to see the money reflect in my paypal account. But there is nothing there in my paypal account.
I have already opened a case (removed per forum guidelines) with best buy but it looks like nobody is ready to refund my money. Two days ago, i opened a case at paypal and it was closed because the transaction had happend 45 days earlier and so i was not entitiled to the claim. Please help me and refund the remaining $467.92. Please. Thank you.

After reading through your experience, I’m positive it was not the experience you were hoping for when you ordered a Toshiba laptop from BestBuy.com at the end of May. It’s regrettable to find that you were unable to receive the laptop, and in the end still haven’t received a refund for the unit.

IPod Return Waiting Too Long

This is my second ipod i've shipped for warrenty due to hard drive errors, first repair took 1 day for each step on the page where you check your repair status, and I got it back in less than a week. The second repair has been on "diagnosing" since last Friday (around 4 buisness days ago) and it still hasn't changed. I've heard diagnose takes at most 2 days. I'm concerned this isn't normal. They might have lost my ipod?!?! Diagnose shouldn't take this long, the issue is quite obvious, the ipod's hard drive is messed up (Strange noises to ipod when tilted and doesnt respond past the intro screen). Is this normal to have diagnose for 4 days?

It took about a week or two for them to return my iPod when I sent it in, so it should be back soon.

Sharing- export output file is waiting too long to calculate

When I try and share a fcp7 sequence the export output file box says waiting and does not calculate the time needed to render.???

Export to QuickTime Movie. Take that to Compressor. Use the batch from template function.
BTW, you need to update your system information, unless you're really running FCP7 on a G4 PowerBook, which might explain the issue.

When taking a picture to add to a contact the phone waits too long

When you go to take a picture to add to a contact in the contacts app itself and you have flash turned on the camera will flash but the phone doesnt save the pic untill after the flash is gone so if its dark you will just get a black screen.

Regardless of using or not using the flash, I can't seem to add ANY phone to my Contacts List from within Contacts and using the "edit" function. I CAN adda phone to a contact IF I take it with the Camera and then select it from the Camera Roll from within Contacts.
From what I see, this is a "bug" in the Contacts edit function.

Replacement takes too long about 3 months

Is ipad replacement takes too long for about 3 months? And every month sending you a message saying the unit has arrived and yet there is still a factory defect it's like obviously they're making an excuse over again. shoud I asked for an incentive for waiting too long by the way im from Philippines.

In my part its unfair because I paid that for cash and I just used it for only 1 week and obviously its a factory defect how come they cannot replaced it right.away??? Ive been a using apple products since 2003 or 2004 if im not mistaken those were the days first generation of iPod shuffle. Its very sad. (Sigh)!

AO wait takes too long?

Basically, i have an AO write followed by and AO wait to make sure the operation finishes before moving on to a graphical display. The AO wait seems to pause for too long however, even when i put in faster updates and checks. Visually, i can observe the completion of the AO write (laser stops scanning) and several seconds later AO wait allows operations to continue (observed with a led on the front panel). For several reasons i would like to eliminate this pause. Thanks for the help. The board being used for this is a PCI-MIO-16E-4.

To address your question, I'm assuming you use the AO Wait VI to wait for a buffered, finite output to finish.
The AO Wait VI checks the status of the task at regular intervals by calling the AO Write VI and checking its complete status. The AO Wait VI waits synchronously between intervals to free the processor for other operations. The VI calculates the wait interval by dividing the check every N updates input by the update rate. Therefore, the pause is directly corresponding with the size of the buffered output.
Are you including an AO Start VI between the AO Write and the AO Wait VI? The AO Start VI allows the user to specify an update rate so that a buffered amount of the data can be writt
en.
This update rate is also wired to the AO Wait VI. The AO Wait VI also has a Check Every N Updates input. Make sure to change the default value (5) to a smaller number to increase how often the AO Wait VI checks for completion.
I would like to also refer you to a shipping example Generate N Updates.vi. Inside the AO Wave sub-VI, the example demonstrates configuring and writing 1000 buffered points.

how can I prevent "jobq slave wait" events ? (or at least make it shorter or less frequent)

Hi Can you check how may jobs have scheduled or there may materialized views which keeps refreshing and their refresh interval
You will get clear picture of number of jobs from below sql
select count(*) from dba_jobs;
and how many job_queue_procesess you have in your database ,use below sql
show parameter job_quere-
If you have more scheduled jobs than above parameter and which keep repeating after some time then better increase the parameter job_queue_process .
Its dyanamic parameter.No need to restart the d/b

HT203164 How do I fix a problem when downloading cd into iTunes, "the file name is invalid or too long"? I have never had this problem before until recently.
