I think iMatch messed up my ipod

I purchased iMatch for my music a few months ago and matched it with iTunes.  I decided to keep all of my iTunes purchased music on my iPod Touch to listen to and use iMatch for when I have a wireless connection to listen to those albums that were matched or downloaded.  Now it seems that anytime I try to listen to my music, supposedly on the iPod or in iMatch/on the cloud, it jumps around from song to song and even refuses to play my full "purchased" playlist.  Any ideas? Could I have some setting wrong on it?  I thought iMatch would give me more room on the iPod but right now it's just giving me a headache.

If push comes to shove you can always reinstall iTunes .
Your stored music should be safe and sound in your iTunes folder in
the Music folder in your Home folder . I have been using Real Player
(NYT) for some little while and have had no reason to pay much mind
to that . F

  • I think I messed up my iPod partition, please HELP

Hello, this is my first post.
So yesterday Windows finally died, I don't know what happened but it sinmply won't boot because something caused a major corruption in the Windows folder.
Good thing I always have Ubuntu as a second OS, I managed to access all my documents, movies and music from Ubuntu and I copied them to my iPod Video 30GB.
Then I did a complete format to my Hard Drive and today I just installed XP again but I did something stupid, when I was at the installation process, I didn't realize I had my iPod plugged in to my computer, and I accidentally deleted my iPod partition from the partition manager.
Then I plugged my iPod off and a white screen with some warning in different languages popped up. It said something about recover fron iTunes.
Then I installed iTunes and plugged my iPod again hoping for iTunes to fix my iPod and be able to use it again, but then a message comes up saying all the contents and other data stored in the iPod will be deleted.
I really can't believe this is happening, I have very important documents stored there along all my songs and movies (the ones I had on my PC).
Is there any way to recover the partition information and make it work again? Like in windows you can use the recovery console and fix the MBR and the boot.ini file.
Any help will be greatly appretiated, and thanks in advance.

Like in windows you can use the recovery console and fix the MBR and the boot.ini file.
The iPod's hard drive is like any Windows-formatted external USB drive. So you should try using whatever method you refer to above on the iPod. You can also try using data recover utilities. If the iPod is not recognized by Windows, try putting it into Disk Mode before connecting it.

In other words, you should try whatever might work if you had accidentally wiped the partition off a USB external hard drive.

You can identofy your iPod here:

What iOS is curently on your iPod (Setting>Genral>About>Version) you need as lest 2.0 for apps but most apps need 3.0 or later.

  • Thinking of buying a new iPod, do I have to delete the songs already there?

    Hi
This is probably the completely wrong forum for this question, but I don't know exactly where to put it.
The thing is, I have an iPod mini (green) with 4 GB, which now is full and I am thinking of buying a 60 GB one. Last year I got a laptop, and when I was to connect my iPod to it, I had to delete all the music from the library in the stationary computer in order to install iTunes on the laptop. I tried to plug in the iPod to the laptop, but it only said that "This iPod unit belongs to another music library. Do you want to delete all content in order to download the new songs?" or something similar. This meant that I lost about 1200 songs, and pretty much had to start all over again.
Now that I'm thinking of buying a new iPod, I am wondering if anyone could answer me if I'll have to do the same thing as I did when I got the laptop. Does a new iPod belong to another music library, and can't just be set up with the one I've already got?
I'd really apriciate some help here, especially if someone have been in the same situation. It has to be possible to get a new iPod without having to delete all the songs you've saved in iTunes.
    Thanks
      Windows 2000

If an iPod is set to update automatically it will be associated with a particular library. If you connect that iPod to a different computer or a different library on the same computer you get the the message you are referring to. "The iPod "iPod Name"is linked to another another iTunes music library. Do you want to change the link to this iTunes music library and replace all existing songs and playlists on this iPod with those from this library". To use an iPod on multiple computers you change the update method to "manually manage songs and playlists". You can also use multiple iPods on a single computer so you will be able to connect both of your iPods to your existing iTunes. Connect the new iPod and follow the on screen instructions, iTunes will open and update your iPod.
    For info:
The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit=>Preferences=>'iPod' tab):
    1) Automatically update all songs and playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method.
    2) Automatically update selected playlists only. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer.
    3) Manually manage songs and playlists. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod.

  • I think I messed up. How to uninstall iLife disc and keep existing iPhoto.

Ok. I was reading some other answers but didn't see this one.  After upgrading to Mavericks 10.9.5, I began having problems with editing in iPhoto.
And upon opening iPhoto, it would take forever. Usually I just minimize it in the dock. So, if I do too much editing to my photos, they come out half overexposed and half normal. No rhyme or reason. No particular photos. Just random. Only if I do a lot of editing. I have to revert the photos and only do a little editing. Annoying. Spoke with Apple support for 2 hours. we tried everything he could think of. Nothing fixed it. He thought it might be a glitch in the software so he sent me a new iLife disc. Now when I bought this iMac in 2009, it already had iPhoto on it. No disc for that particular application. So the disc he sent me was the bundled version iLife '11 for version 10.6 or later.  Now here's where I think I messed up. I didn't delete my existing iPhoto before I clicked and installed the new disc. (My icon is the orange palm tree BTW)  so after install was complete, I clicked on it and it and the icon got a white circle with a line through it and a pop up that read, " Please run software update to install it now.  it offers two buttons to click...."Software Update" and "OK".  When I click on the software update, it takes me to the Yosemite upgrade feature (which I don't want).  What did I do??  iPhoto won't open at all.  Now I just want to forget this disc and go back to my screwed up iPhoto version. Help???

Nevermind. Fixed the issue.  Had to go back and install the earlier versions.

  • I think I messed up my mac install by installing windows 8

Yesterday I tried to install Windows 8 on a Mac Mini using boot camp. I am new to Macs so when the windows installer told me it could not install to the Boot Camp created partition because it was not NTFS, I told it to wipe the partition and install it to the blank partition. Now I can run Windows 8 but nothing I do lets me back in to OSx. If anyone has any suggestions they would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think you "messed up" your Mac.
Read the Boot Camp guide and then install using Boot Camp Assistant. But first, you need to repartition and format that hard drive and reinstall OS X and your other apps and data to it; hopefully you have a very recent backup.

  • Tried BIOS flash, but I think I messed up.

Well, things look bleak.  I flashed my K8N Neo2 to Syar's BIOS by using a CD with an ISO image burned on it.  I booted up and the computer read the CD, I typed Flash.bat and it installed the BIOS.  This is where I think I messed up.  Instructions told me to shutdown, turn off PS and unplug. Then clear CMOS etc.  I did all this, but I turned off the power supply instead of shutting down.  Since I was in DOS I did not know how to shutdown while in DOS. Rooky mistake.  I think I should have pressed and held the CPU power button.
Now, all I get is a blank really black screen.  Any hope??? Or is it new MB time?

Have you tried to reset the BIOS by removing the CMOS battery and leave it to 10-30 mins? Make sure you removed the power cord as well as power connectors connected to your mobo. After you've removed it set it all the default setting and tried to reflashed it. Gd luck
PS: If you wan to flashed your Bios you can refer to my signature.

Yes. You will loose everything that's on it. iDevices can be synced with one and only one computer.

Hi, im a little stuck with something.

ok so i followed itunes suport instructions by making my ipod not automatically upload songs from my home pc...so then i tried to connect it to my dell laptop and it didnt work so then i kinda gave up and then i pluged it back into my home computer and it didnt register that my ipod was pluged in either... its the original 15gb no click wheel and it took me forever to work and save up enough money to buy it... im stuck and i definately cannot afford to buy another one....i feel as if im gonna die...

  • HT1338 just what is the new software upgrade 10S 6.16. EVERY TIME I PUT NEW SOFT WARE ON MY IPOD 4TH GENERATION TOUCH IT MESSES UP MY IPOD IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER. USUALLY IT CUTS IT OFF OF WI FI AND IT WON'T CONNECT!FI

I am afraid to download the new update software ios 6.1.6. Because everytime I let it put new software on, It makes my Ipod 4th generation mess up one way or another. Usually it makes the wifi go off and I cannot get it back on. Then I can't even use the ipod!  I am having a problem now with it shuffling. Do both red x's one on each corner right top and left top need to be on for it to shuffle?  Thank-You; Sherry  PS, I do not have a Mac. I have a dell window 7. and I don't want windows 8. I have heard nothing but bad about it!

Nope, though it did allow me to get some missing songs back onto my iPod. That's something. But neither "Back in Black" or "Dirty Deeds" show up anywhere on the Touch. Could this be because iTunes has no deal with AC/DC?
Quite frankly, at this point, I'd really rather not have the "ease of use" of iCloud attached to the iPod. It's not like I change my playlists that much. It would just be nice to get what I want onto my MP3 player. Not sure which one it was: iCloud, Music Match or the Air Port but the only real result of all the $ I plunked down is seeing all of my Wife's 231 Christmas songs popping up on my laptop. Really don't want them here. She SURE AS **** is sick of seeing all of my stuff on her computer.
    Thanks again.

  • 4.3.2 update messed up my ipod touch... same issues peple complained about with 4.3.1

So the last update 4.3.1 that everyone complained about worked fine with my ipod touch... it was working great actually. Then I did the update for 4.3.2 and crash and burn... now I am having all the issues that people were complaining about with 4.3.1...
Battery life is much shorter than before
Cover art flow is messed up- most of the albums show up as a pixelated mess
Photo library is messed up- the images do not line up in the grid and are all cut off or look like tiled multiple images
When listening to music and the screen shows the full size cover art- the art shows up looking "tiled" not a full centered image.
The screen is kind of glitchy, like it freezes up for a second before doing what it needs to do- for example when the lock screen is on and you unlock it it kind of has this delayed reaction before changing.
Also, the combo of the update and the new itunes is totally screwed up... I am using windows 7 and can't decide if this is a weird windows issue or itunes and the ipod updates, but when I plug in the ipod to sync it will either wipe out all of my music and apps or will instantly freeze and I have to force quit. My back ups no longer work with the new updates, so I had to re-download all of my apps...  And when I can get itunes to work for a moment and I sync music the songs usually cut out randomly or skip- so to solve that I resorted to using media monkey- but this doesn't fix the artwork sync issues.
Having spent several hundred dollars on an ipod, i expect this stuff to work!! and it would be great if it worked with the programs as intended, but maybe I have high expectations.
Has anyone else had any of these problems? I am feeling like I might just have to suck it up and deal.

Mine has been doing the exact same thing. It messes up even more with each stupid update they do. One thing that I have found helps is restoring my ipod.
