All you UK residents finaaaallly going to get your iPhone's tomorrow, what time are you planning to go?
Im still not sure what to do, I have an O2 and CPW store 5 mins from me, and an Apple store 30 mins away. I ideally want to go to the Apple store (partly because there will be more of an 'event' there, partly because its in a mall and I dont have to queue in the cold!) but Im thinking it will be sooo much busier than the high street O2/CPW stores.
I don't want to get to the Apple store to find a 200 strong queue and find out my friend went into my hometown and walked straight into an O2 store at 6.
Hmmmm decisions.

Just so this won't influence your decision: in the US you don't actually get your phone service set up when you buy. You do it online. I bought mine at the Apple Store, but on a recent trip to ATT, they were telling customers they had to do it online as well.
The process only takes a few minutes and (in the US at least) includes porting over your current number. Not sure how it will be handled in GB.
Another thing to factor in: I am assuming that the Apple Store will have 200 extra employees on duty for the event, while the O2 store will be understaffed as cell phone stores usually are.

Cas, you have the coolermaster extreme power. There has been an issue with some models of coolermaster Realpower PSUs. I could re-state the reasons, but Bosskiller has addressed this several times.

Which apps remain compatible will be up to the individual developers who sell those apps. There will be no further iOS updates, but those aren't really necessary to continue to use and enjoy your device. I still have an iPad 1 running on iOS 5, and it is fully functional.
The App Store has an app called VintApps 3.1.1 that is specifically geared toward iOS 3.1, however, you would probably be able to run most of those apps on your iPod, and considering that there will be a rather large market for iOS 6 apps users, it is not likely that you will see a significant reduction in choices any time soon.
It is not the end for the device in any sense except that it is at it's ultimate iOS level. And again, I have an iPad that is at it's ultimate iOS level (iOS 5), and I get new apps all the time that work for both my iPad and my iPhone that runs iOS 6.1.1

Just picked up a new airport extreme to connect my imac and macbook etc etc into our first home network. Plugged it all in - but in the set up its asking for a router address ? Whats this and where can I find it please. We connect to the internet via some kind of modem, think its DSL if this is relevant.

I'm assuming that you're using the AirPort Utility in the "Assist Me" mode and you got to the page where you are asked for things like IP Address, Subnet Mask, Router Address, etc....correct?
With DSL, your ISP will provide service using either DHCP or PPPoE for connectivity...so on the setup prior to this page, you where provided with a number of choices. I am assuming that you selected "I use a DSL or cable modem with a static IP address or DHCP." Correct?
If so, with this choice, you normally do not need to enter the values for IP Address, Subnet Mask, Router Address, and so on, as these are automatically provided by your ISP. Just make sure that the value for Configure TCP/IP: is Using DHCP.

Firefox can't load certain sites; your link for this topic doesn't work. Firefox 4, 5,6-Debian-6

In the last week certain websites won't load. All I get is a blank page. Some of them: www.amazon.com, www.chron.com, www.microsemi.com.
I was able to get on amazon.com by following a link for vendor feedback from an email but nothing else works.
This problem exists with Firefox 4, 5, 6 and the default Debian browser Iceweasel. I am using Debian 6.0.

I am a fitness director and looking for an app that will allow me to sale and track group fitness classes. What app do you think would be best for this?

I want to sale classes individually and in packages. I'll need to track when purchases are made and then when credits have been redeemed (if they purchased a package of classes). I suspect I'd need an app in the bussiness category, but there are so many and some with a few qualities I'm looking for, but missing a key component. I can't be the only one looking for a solution like this. Right?!

Should my PSU be enough for this system?

My system is in my rig, but my antec true power 430w cannot boot it up. If I remove the 9700pro and use a different video card, it works fine. Ocassionaly, if I am lucky, it will boot with the 9700.
If I need a new psu.. what are some suggestions? Want to stay under $100 but, i definitely do not want a POS PSU.

Plugged my iphone 3gs into stereo dock! Now i keep getting message flash up on screen that its not suitable for this product and may experience interfearence, now i got no tones or anything when people ring or txt! Can this be fixed?

Sounds like your stereo is NOT compatible with the iPhone. If resetting the phone doesn't correct the problem, you may want to consider another option. Was this something that was working fine previously?

Mac cant see the wifi network if i dont get close enough which was not an issue before

Hi. I have a macbook pro OSX 10.8.4
At the office my mac can not see our network router if i dont get close enough.
This was not an issue before i could directly connect it at my desk. now when i turn the
computer on i need to take to mac as closest as i can get to the router ( in next room ) wait for connection
and return to my room. and this way i still can get full signal.
and also a windows laptop on my desk and even my iphone can find the router and connect with no problem
at my office.
any ideas ?

(And yeah,I've been struggling until today to find a solution...Danny's personal advice: don't move to Italy if you don't wanna get lost in a Customer Service nightmare...)
Anyhow, it turned out to be as simple as this:
1) Create a location dedicated to the home network.
2) Insert PPPoE user name and password given by ISP.
3) Connect.
4) Browse wirelessly.
...I feel a little dumb overlooking this option....but, I still have some doubts reg the procedure.
Why did I have to create a dedicated location?
Why do I have to use PPPoE rather than DHCP?

Is Pages Good Enough For Professional Printing?

I'm looking to do an Large Format Brochure (11" x 17") single fold and I've been using Pages for the mock up and layout. I was thinking that I would need someone to recreate the design in Quark, or Pagemaker, but now I'm wondering if I can do it all in Pages.
The printer that I plan on using is PSPrint (http://www.psprint.com/) and according to their offset printing specs and template, I just have to provide them with a 300dpi PDF. From what I've tested, exporting to PDF with quality set at "Best" I get a 300dpi file.
I haven't tested my output with photographs yet since we haven't purchased the final images and are using comps, but am I wrong in thinking that Pages is good enough for this project?

There is no way to save out of Pages to pdf without flattening the transparency.
Proposition: In any save path, transparency is flattened in saving.
Test of proposition: Apple Pages '08 and Apple Mac OS X 10.4.11 as platform.
1. Launch system software and application software.
2. Insert first composition frame, select Apple Hoefler antiqua at 24 US pt, enter 'Type', leave default colour, leave default opacity.
3. Insert second composition frame, select Apple Hoefler antiqua at 24 US pt, enter 'Transparency', change default colour to rubrication red, change opacity to 50%.
4. Select e.g. File > Print > PDF > Save as PDF, name file 'Test', and select folder.
5. Launch Acrobat Professional 6 (first version with ISO 15930 PDF/X-3 verification), check the PDF version (: 1.4), check at high magnification (: no rasterisation), check that the source character string can be synthesised (: it can).
As posted previously, if transparency is applied, PDF 1.4 is automatically configured unless the path is ISO 15930 PDF/X-3 that does not support transparency (PDF 1.3 has an opaque imaging model, not a transparency imaging model). This is a simplistic test, but it is nonetheless a test.
Because Apple Quartz has applied transparency since 2000, and because there the matrix of system versions and application versions is somewhat monstrous, the notion of testing is somewhat notional .

What licensing do I need for this use ?

Lets say Im planning an application which does nothing but
allows the user to upload Adobe PDF documents to our server. Then
once on the server, parse the values from forms on the PDF's and
extract the data. We wont be distributing Acrobat reader or any
other Adobe product, but will provide a link where they can
download the reader.
Also, the PDF's would be created by someone with a copy of
Acrobat pro. These PDF's will need digital signature capability.
Can Acrobat reader handle signatures ?
Here are my questions:
- What licensing do I need, if any, in the above scenario,
other than that for a copy of Acrobat ?
- What are my options for capturing digitical signatures
within a PDF and will the publicly available version of Acrobat
reader allow the end user to sign the documents, provided they
install the extra requirements for handling the signatures ?

The licensing restrictions on gathering form data from PDFs
is outlined in the EULA for Reader, I believe there is a limit of
500 copies, but I could be wrong ... you should look at the EULA to
be sure.
Beyond that, try posting to the
Acrobat
Forums or contacting a sales rep at Adobe, they may be able to
advise you further.
