I think my e mail was hacked from my iPad. How can I check the iPad for viruses?

Well there are apps for that, but iPads and others are not suseptable to viruses, if they are its very very very small number. So I would suspect that you are fine, but check the app store for an app that would scan for viruses, i use Virusbarrier to scan downloads i get in emails, or links.

You do realize that there are many, many email providers and without knowing which one you are talking about, there is no way to answer your question?
Which then leads to this ..... Have you contacted your email provider about this? That's probably the best place to start. See what they recommend.

YOu can try siging into icloud.com
But you should just change your icloud password.

I wish mine would sync. I have iCloud and want to be able to move from device to device and see all my message threads but when people send an imessage to my iphone the thread will not appear on my other devices - ipad or Mac. Frustrating...

My copy of Address Book App was erased from Maverick. How can I replace it?

Address Book App was deleted from the iMac running Maverick. My other iMac runs Snow Leopard and that version of Address Book 5.0.3. won't run on Maverick. Where can I d/l the software?
And how can I copy in the addresses from 5.0.3?

I bought this iMac and another from a non-prof group that got a gift of newer Macs. The addresses in Address Book were theirs. I thought I was deleting them, but deleted the entire address app. This is the only machine I have running Mavericks. Others are on Snow Leopard.
I do not have the Mavericks install disk but I'll ask for it tomorrow.
PeachMac offered to install Address Book and any other system software for $69. But that's still not my contact list of 200 or so.
I'm investigating resources.
First I have to send my broken, no-boot MacBookPro to Florida for a motherboard or whatever it needs. I have a Snow Leopard Time Machine back-up for that. I doubt there's a way to Restore that back-up to a Mavericks machine. Apple ain't that kind.

i mean that i removed for my computer and than on the Mac App Store in the purchased i saw a X and i pressed (but it was a mistake) and now i can't download it again for free, there is something that i can do???

Go to the App Store Menu, choose Store > View My Account. You should see iTunes in the Cloud. Click View Hidden Purchases. Click Unhide on the App. Hope this is what you meant.

Audiobooks are not currently part of the content that can be re-downloaded. You should sync your audiobooks to other devices via iTunes on your computer.
You can re-download content purchased from the iBook store (availability varies depending on location) using the purchased option at the bottom of the screen after you tap the store button in the top corner of the iBook app on your iOS device.

Sign out of old ID and sign in with new.

Again, it depends on what you have been using. If you did not request the IMAP account from Comcast/Xfinity yet, then you still have the POP account. However, the phone may recognize Comcast as an IMAP account. You can fool the device to allow you to set it up as POP. You are correct that the POP mail servers are mail.comcast.net for incoming mail, and it is smtp.comcast.net. I don't use a Mac computer, so I'm not familiar with those settings. If it is necessary to delete and reconfigure your account on the iPhone and you have not registered for the IMAP Comcast account, and you and your husband are using the same account, then after deleting the account, when you begin to enter it again, misspell your email address or your password so the verification will fail. Make sure you enter the username and password even where it says optional, and you will need to use SSL as well.

If possible, I suggest changing to a credit card.
1) There is a max $50 in stolen dollars.
2) It is easy to dispute a charge. You call the credit card company. Complain. They call the retailer & refund you the money.

No one from Apple is here - this is a user to user support forum.
Password updates do not require an email unless you have forgotten your Security Questions.
To change your Apple ID go to Manage your Apple ID: Apple - My Apple ID, sign in, answer the Security Questions, and then EDIT the Apple ID. If you do not remember the answers to your Security Questions, you can have them reset by Apple Support: ACCOUNT SECURITY CONTACT NUMBERS
