  • What do I do if I think my Iphone has been hacked?

I think my iphone has been hacked ... how can I know for sure... I believe they may have gotten my contacts.... who knows what else?

I was also hacked this week on my 4S.  As improbable as everyone at Apple may say, it did happen.  I am pretty good with technology.  My kids had my iPhone 7 years old and they went to a website that without my knowing, allowed so done to take control of my device.  I had the phone on charging and connected via wifi.  I heard in the middle of the night someone talking and then a fax machine but thought I was dreaming. I turned over and went back to sleep not looking at my phone.
Next morning I wake up and the screen is on maps?  I panicked and realized a bunch of SMS txts and also some emails went out. In checking my call log, bingo... A bunch of calls over a 4 hour period.  I started to delete anything suspect but really didn't know what to do. I then called all my banks and credit card accounts to out them on high alert.
I called apple and they begin to say that this is a software glitch, clearly they were not listening.  I went to the apple store and spoke with a supposed genius who suggested the same thing.  Finally, I explained it to a level 2 person and they suggested wiping the phone clean by resetting it and reinstalling everything fresh.  I still have no way of knowing what was accessed or downloaded and more scary, neither does apple.
When I asked if there was an app, they couldn't suggest anything saying that by default the iPhone is secure and encrypted yet here I am with a remote accessed situation on my hands.
    Any ideas... Anyone?

  • Help! I think my iPhone has been hacked!?

Hi, my friend and i have been texting back and fourth between imessage and text, assuming bad service, we both have iPhone 4S, we both live in Ontario, Canada, but right now she is visiting Nashville, TN. All of the sudden I get a text message from her number that is Chinese writing?!
It showed up on my phone but when she sent me a screen shot of our conversation from her end,
It doesn't show it's there? Have I been hacked? I tried to translate the Chinese text but it hardly makes sense, this is what showed up.
    " 浥獳慧攠Ԡ瑯′㈶㤸㤳㌴〠獵捣敥摥搮"
"Hui eyelid redness Yì Ԡ neighbors' ㈶ sauce ㌴ 〠 Bei Yan Lie dǎo staying Museum"
I tried to translate it to English, but that's all I got.
    Please help!!!

Receiving a weird message is not an indication of hacking - at least not on the recipient's end.  The issue in this story is, "Why did her phone send that message to you?"  Even better, "What message (if any) was she trying to send?"  Either there is an issue on the network, or some third party has figured out a way to send messages using someone else's number.

  • How do you tell if your iphone has been hacked?

How do you tell if you iphone has been hacked? I have an iphone 3GS and I've gotten text messages from 2 different people that i don't know, telling me they can't see the pics that I've sent them & wanting to know what the pics are of. One of the numbers had been part of a group message that I recieved from a friend. I just thought she ended up responding back to me by mistake thinking she was sending a message to the originater of the group message. Then a couple weeks later i got another text from a person I have never contacted wanting to know who I was & why I was sending multimedia messages that she couldn't open. Just trying to figure out what is going on. If I postd this on the wrong group, please let me know which one I need to post this on. Thanks.

Well that's good to know. As far as I know the phone has not been jailbroken, unless it was done before I bought it. I purchased it used from an individual who said it was restored to factory defaults.
It just concerns me that people are texting me telling me that I'm sending them pics that they can't open. I've checked my bill online & nothing shows up that shouldn't be there.

  • I think my icloud has been hacked and someone is seeing my text messages

I think that my icloud or iphone has been hacked.  I think that someone is seeing my text messages that shouldn't be.  How can I tell or how do I fix it

Text messages are not sent to Apples icloud so not possible there.
If you are using Verizon's messaging there may be a way to view your text messages from a computer and another device on your account. But you have to turn on Verizon's integrated messaging and the person must have your password to view them from the web.
    Good Luck

  • I just recieved a notification that says "your iphone has been hacked. All your photo's and calls are compremised"..... Should I be worried?

    Hi all,
I just recieved a notification that says "your iphone has been hacked. All your photo's and calls are compremised"..... Should I be worried or is this a very pathetic attempt of a hacker? Please advise as soon as possible. Below is a screen shot.
    Thank you for your help.

Is your phone jailbroken? If not, just ignore/delete the message...it's a Flash SMS, & nothing but spam. If your phone is not jailbroken, you have nothing to worry about.

  • I think my system has been hacked int

I think my airport has been hacked into how do I change passowrd

Unless you are using a very simple password that might be easy to guess, the chances that someone has cracked your network are very small.
The password is changed using AirPort Utility, an administrative application for the AirPort routers.
What device did you use to set up the AirPort Extreme originally? If you have a Mac, we'll need to know what operarting system it is using if you want step by step instructions on how to change the password.
Click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen, then click About This Mac. Post back with the OS X Version number that you see there.

  • How can I tell if my iPhone has been hacked?

First off, I have an iPhone 5s with the most recent software.
Today, out of the blue, my phone started showing the cellular provider as 'Maritime' instead of AT&T. I Googled around and saw some sort of joint venture thing that AT&T has with providing cell service to ships (http://www.wmsatsea.com/) but I'm not sure why all the sudden this would start showing up as my carrier. I went through the usual things to do and restarting my phone seemed to have changed it back to AT&T. I would rather be safe than sorry; I wanna know if this is possibly some sort of residue from a hack.
    Thanks!

I didn't think there was a way for someone to remotely change something like that but just wanted to put it out there.
I guess I could have been near a passengar ship, being that I live in Long Beach, CA (tons of cruise ships and international ships in the port of LB) but it was showing 'Maritime' for at least 4 hours. Maybe they were just randomly parked somewhere.
I called AT&T and they just had me reset my carrier settings (i had already restarted my phone so it did nothing). The only suggestion as to what caused it was that AT&T may have thought my phone was somewhere else. Don't know why that would show another carrier. (which is what made me think it could have been hacked or something simialr). I'm just gonna assume it had something to do with the AT&T's network and all the carriers they piggyback onto their towers.
    Thanks for the response!

  • My iphone has been hacked?

My touch screen started malfunctioning about a week ago.  Two days before, when I was viewing a photo on Facebook, the screen froze again.  I then closed the Facebook apps and went back to the home screen.  But the touch screen did not allow me to control it.  I then turned off the screen and entered the lock screen.  Just when the lock screen appears, password buttons were being pressed automatically as if it was entering some passwords. I had not touched the screen at all.  It did not enter the correct button and when it failed, it tried again. I looked at the screen and noted that it tried several times of wrong input of the password, I forced off the phone and restarted it. Everything resumed normal and I thought it was just normal malfunctioning.
Yesterday morning, when I was reading Yahoo News on the iphone, the apps hanged.  I closed the apps and intended to re-open it.  But before I could attempt to press the apps button, the phone started to function by itself.  The pull down menu was being dragged down, and scrolled through the list of emails and events.  It pressed open my email list, and clicked onto one of my emails.  The email it opened showed a hyperlink of a community which I was a member of, and required me to input a password.  When it entered the page of password input, it stopped.  I did not enter any p/w and close the mail apps.  But once I closed the mail apps, the pull down menu was dragged down again, and the list was scrolled again, another email with hyperlink and p/w entry was required was opened.  It stopped again when a password was prompt.  This series happened several times in the roll.  For reason of the pattern, and the password entry prompt, I was very sure that somebody was in control of my phone, wishing to get some of my passwords.  I switched off the phone and restart.  Everything seemed to have resumed normal.  But after that, I removed a few newly installed apps.
This morning, some of my friends called me.  They asked me why I did not reply to their WeChat messages.  It appeared that I lost all incoming messages from last night onwards, except those in a group chat.  I tested with several friends and it seemed that the problem is on me.  The more scary thing is, I noted from one of my group chat that I typed a message "testing" to the group.  The fact is, I did not type the message and in fact, I was on the phone at the material time.
Can some of the experts here please help me and let me know what's happening and what I should do?  Will merely restore to factory setting helps the situation?  I closed all cellular connection on my iphone now to protect all data inside.
PS  Mine is a iPhone 5.  I had not JB my phone.  My phone was purchased direct from an authorised dealer accompanying a phone package plan.  It is a genuine Apply Original product at its first release.

If the phone has been in your possession since you set it up and you did not hack or jailbreak it then it is not hacked.
First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
Or take the phone to an apple store to have it checked out.

  • Think my email has been hacked need help??

i use outlook web page to check my emails but yester day i had delivery failures which was unusual as i didnt send anything.. i went to log in today and it said there is somebody trying to use my email aswell
does anybody know how this has happened?? is it anything to do with malware?
and how do i stopit from happening
    thanks in advance

Your mail account has almost certainly been hacked on the server, not on your computer, unless someone has had access to the latter.
Log in to the mail server's web interface and change the password. If you use the same password for any other accounts, change those passwords too, and make them all different. Internet passwords should be random strings of at least 10 characters. You most likely don't need to, and should not be able to, remember them. They should be saved in your keychain and backed up with the rest of your data.
One way to generate a secure password is the following. Triple-click anywhere the line below on this page to select it:
    openssl rand -base64 10 | cut -c-14 | open -f -a TextEdit
Copy the selected line to the clipboard (command-C). Launch the Terminal application and paste into the window that opens (command-V). A string of 14 random characters will appear in a TextEdit window. Use that string, or a substring, as the password. To generate another random string, press the up-arrow key and then the return key with the Terminal window active. You can then quit Terminal.
If the compromised account is on Gmail, then changing the password may not be enough. Follow all of Google'sinstructions to secure it.

  • I have a catch 22 situation. My Apple ID is set up but I forgot my password when I ask for an email link it never arrives. I think my account has been hacked, my security questions, the answers say they are wrong. I want to delete it, can't without passwo

Continued..my security answers have been changed, I think ID hacked, email and sec answers changed. How do I delete it? By the way it is not this ID, I had to set up a new one to use this site....

Did he have find my iPhone enabled under that iCloud account?  If so, add the account back to his phone.  Then in the iCloud account settings, disable find my iPhone first (you will be prompted for your password), then remove the account.
Now you can create or add a new iCloud account to it using his own AppleID.
Alternatively, you could log in to your www.icloud.com account in a web browser.  Using the find my iPhone app there, remove his iPhone from your list of associated devices (he will have to power his iPhone off for you to do that).
After his iPhone is set up for his own iCloud account, on your iPhone, go to
settings->iCoud->Storage & Backup->Manage Storage and delete his iPhone's backup file to make more room on your own iCloud storage account.
