I think my phone is leaking..

I have an iPhone 5S which is only three weeks old.
I have a clear belkin case on it, and this afternoon I noticed there was liquid in the case - so I took it off and cleaned the phone and the case, and put the case back on.  I thought somehow something must of gotten in there, as it wasn't clear liquid.
Tonight I noticed my case had liquid in it AGAIN (even though it was in my room, not near any water at all) and when I cleaned it, there was even more in it and it was a kind of brown/transparent colour.  Should I be ringing apple?  Should I stop using it?

You should definetley stop using it, if anything is leaking it's gonna be the battery and you don't want that getting on you.

  • How to stop an iphone from "thinking" a phone no. is another iphone?

I had an iphone 4 but then switched to a different device (ported my number out) and now I can no longer receive texts from my friend with an iphone 5 who used to send me messages using iMessage because the iphone 5 continues to "think" my phone number is associated with an iphone 4. Both Verizon and Apple are working on figuring out (spent a couple of hours) how to correct this with no luck so far. btw my friend can receive my texts but when my friend replies to my texts or initiates a conversation, it shows as sent on my friend's iphone but I never receive the messages.
It has been so frustrating so as a last resort we are considering turning off iMessage altogether on my friend's iphone 5 because deleting my contact from the iphone 5 and reactivating iMessage has not helped correct the problem. Question: what can we do on the iphone 5 that can make it "think" that the phone number is no longer associated to an iphone? Or how do we simply turn off iMessage from the iphone 5?
Any ideas will help. Thank you.

        Hi Htam,
Messaging is an important feature on the device! I apologize that your messages are not working properly. Let's dig a little deeper. Try the following instructions below to unregister your old iphone 4.
    Go to http://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do.
    Step 2
Log in with your Apple ID and password.
    Step 3
Select the product you need to de-register (your iPhone, for example).
    Step 4
    Click ‘Unregister’.
    Step 5
You’ll see the message ‘Are you sure you want to unregister and delete this product?’ – Click ‘Unregister’ again.
    Keep me posted.
    Thanks,

I opened a spam e-mail, I think my phone has a virus how do I get it off? HELP!

It was an email about a video I posted on youtube. It said "the video you posted under your account has been approved and posted. Click link to see the video" but I didn't post any video so I clicked the link on my phone and it took me to a page that was not youtube so I immediately closed the window went to my settings and deleted cookies and history. Later I tried to login to one of my banking app and it kept saying loading for about 5 min before I exited the app then tried again and then it wouldn't even let me log in.

  • HT1349 What is a captive session and a crash reporter? I think my phone may have been compromised and information stolen, is there anyway from the diagnostics log to find out?

What is a captive session and a crash reporter? I think my phone"s security may have been compromised.

ok thank you. I was talking to a IT security forensics person and they told me that there is a devise that plugs into your charging area and looks like a flashdrive that can bypass your password and download all of your data even deleted text messages from the hard drive in your phone.
he had the ability to have access to my phone all night.
is there a way he couldve jail broke my phone to hack into it and then un jail break it.
I was also told that if he used a mac computer he couldve done this through itunes and there is a way to find the trace of my data being extracted on my iphone and will also give mac address that they pulled the data onto.

  • My I phone is leaking E-mail passwords and 3parties are accessing the E-mails! I have changed passwords 3 times in 8days!! As soon as I upload the E-Mail account to the I-Phone, everything starts all over again, What do I do?

My I phone is leaking E-mail passwords and 3parties are accessing the E-mails! I have changed passwords 3 times in 8days!! As soon as I upload the E-Mail account to the I-Phone, everything starts all over again, What do I do?
The last Aplication I downloaded was Yahoo Finance (a new version) with Yahoo.es .....after a couple days it is asking me to change my E-mails to yahoo.es...and will permit me to upload me e-mails to the I-Phone.... I do not know if this helps..

I really doubt it if this is a security issue with iPhone, more like you may have answered one to many questions during an apps setup. Or just a coincidence. Most of the time, it has something to do with some site you were on or with a laptop or desktop web page, but not the iPhone.

  • I think my phone is hacked

Someone tried to access my online account the first day I got my phones. The carrier texted me. I rcvd snail mail that they tried to access it again and were given a temp password. I have blocked all access to my online account- I can't even access it.  My phone is now burning hot, and under Diagnostics and usage, the dates are out of order and they look suspicious- I see words like  apple user ID, daemon, etc.
Please help! My ex keeps getting in all my info, accounts, emails.. I'm tired of it.

  • I think my phone is dead?!

On a normal day my battery will last me all day, run down to about 30-20%, and then I'll charge it up at night.
Yesterday I noticed my battery life was down to like 50% at about 1:30pm, which is unusual for my phone considering it was idle while I was in class from 8-12. Then today I took my phone out after being in class from 8-12 (and charging it up the night before), and at noon my battery was down to 40%. So I turned it off because I knew I wouldn't be getting back until later so I didn't want it to completely die, considering I was just loosing battery life quickly. I could literally watch the meter go down 1% at a time every few minutes.
When I went to turn it back on an hour later, I got that lovely screen with the iTunes logo and the USB cord, only allowing me to use the phone to call for emergencies. When I got back to my computer later today, I tried plugging it into iTunes. It has now been 2 hours and my phone still won't restore. It'll try to restore the phone, but after 30 minutes or so it just says there is an error and my iPhone couldn't be restored. I'm on attempt #3 now and still nothing.
Also I do not jailbreak my phone so it's perfectly Apple-appropriate. I just don't know what to do! Thank you!

If you can't reset or restore, then make an appointment at your local Genius Bar or call 800-my iphone

  • My iphone has gone into sudden recovery mode, if i restore as itunes suggests will i loose my photos? i 'think' my phone is backed up

    Hi, HELP!
My iphone out the blue. suddenly went into recovery mode this evening. Tried all the tricks and didnt work so plugged into computer. It said something like i had to restore to factory settings. If i do this will i loose my photos?? Im pretty sure 98% is backed up on itunes on this computer when i update my iphone a few months ago.
    Thanks.

just plug it in to your computer and do the factory restore, then when it is done you go thru the prompts and then it will ask if you want to restore as new phone or from backup.  Choose backup and restore from itunes.

  • I think my phone is stolen

hello, i bough a blackberry 8520 , from a guy, he didnt said from where he got it ... but i think it is stolen, i cant use the aplications (blackberry app world) ... i am from romania , with orange carrier ... i have the blackberry option activated (on orange) but i still cant use my aplications such as yahoo messenger and facebook.
what can i do now ? i dont want to be acused for thief ...

Why do you think it is stolen?
If you do, you need to return it to the seller and get your money back.
Or, report the suspected theft to the local police.
Not being able to use Facebook or whatever may be no indicator of a stolen device, but just one which is not connected to your network properly. Please look at your Manage Connections screen > Services Status.

  • Windows 7 thinks my phone is my wife's phone when connected.

Not sure where to post this.  I found one other person with this issue after I Googled it but no solution.  Long story short - we have 2 iPhones in the family and 2 separate profiles set up on the PC with Windows 7.  When I plug my phone in via USB on my profile, the auto play window pops up (to view files or import photos) and it displays my phone with the name of my wife's phone.  In Windows under "devices" it is also recognized as my wife's phone.  Before iOS5, Windows used to differentiate between our two phones and displayed our different phone names correctly.  Now both phones show up as the name of my wife's phone.  Anyone else run into this issue after iOS5?

Sadly, no.  It shows up as a "portable device" and a "digital camera."  I can go to properties and highlight the incorrect name, but cant edit it or delete it.
I found this with a Google search:
You can change the name text in the '[Strings]' section of the .INF file included with the driver (edit it with Notepad), then run the setup.exe. Windows will then display that name in "Devices and Printers" and "Device Manager".
Meh.  I like Apple because 90% of the time you just plug it in and it works without issue.  I'm not comfortable editing .INF files.  I shouldn't have to.  I'd be curious to know if this issue is happening to Mac users after the iOS5 update.  I wonder if it has to do with the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver that was automatically installed after I updated her phone to iOS 5.  I did mine first and then hers.  Perhaps if I updated my phone after hers it would display only my phone name for both phones.

  • I think my phone is being bugged

My wife and i feel that her father is tapping into our phones. He is an experienced ham radio operator and has a degree in electronics. is it possible for him to do this????? At times you can hear a empty space in the background when you are talking to someone. Sounds like the old party lines back in the day for those who remember that.

    Hi protectmykids,
Please be assured that Verizon Wireless has safety measures and technology in place that make tapping into your phone an impossible task.
If you believe that anyone has altered your phones in any way, I recommend performing a Factory Reset to bring phones back to their original settings. Doing this will reset any alterations performed to your phones.

  • ITunes 7 thinks my phones an iPod, lol.

Ok to start, This new version of iTunes must be buggy or something. All my friends with an iPod are having to do an iPod restore after installing iTunes 7. And now when I plug my Motorola v3x into my PC to charge it or transfer files it launches iTunes and attempts to update. My phone is not an iTunes phone at all, I just thought I'd mention that.
I also turned off the removable drive autorun as my phone contains a memory card which shows as a removable drive on the PC but iTunes still opened anyway.
Anyway it looks like this new version of iTunes was rushed a little and perhaps not finished its testing process.
    Thanks
    Dave

I had same problem with mine. Where itunes would freeze, I never got to use my ipod cause I started right with the 7.0. Well, troubleshooted until I was ready to throw them and nothing worked. I got different messages when I plugged the ipod in. Sometimes I would get found new hardware, sometimes need to reboot for software to work properly, or found unknown device. It also would not show up on my computer..or rarely showed up as an f drive. I also got a message that said can not find drivers for this device.
Make sure you have a 2.0 usb port..this is needed not recommended as it states. I don't know if it's the software or what. If you have a 2.0, how old is it? I had a 2.0 and everything but ipod worked, when I bought a new 2.0 the ipod worked fine. I also have an 80 gig that I had same problem on and this solved it. Usb only costed me 20 bucks, but it solved the problem immediately.

  • HT4623 tried updating to iOs 6 and now itunes thinks my phone has no sim card?

I have tried updating my iphone 3gs to the latest iOs 6 for Icloud and now my itunes is saying that my phone has no sim card in and won't update the phone or let me reset it?

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1.3. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and anitvirus software temporarily.  Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).
Tip 2 - If you're updating via wifi, place your iPad close to your router to preclude getting a corrupted download.
