I thought H.264 was DVD compliant!?

When i export my video as a H.264 compressed quicktime movie with no sound, why is DVD Studio Pro telling me it is an incompatible format when I import it? I just don't get it.

Standard definition DVDs are all MPEG-2. H.264 is supported/will be supported on Blu-Ray and HD-DVDs.
So, to answer your question... currently, to make a DVD, the only supported format is MPEG-2 (because that's the only format that the DVD standard accepts).

I have FCE HD and was debating about going out to purchase a new HD Video Camera. My only hesitation is not knowing if I need DVD Studio Pro to be able to actually output and burn a H.264 HD DVD. Or can I just import my HD video to FCE, export using the H.264 HD settings, and use iDVD to burn my HD DVD? Will this option give me true HD quailty? Any input would be greatly appreciated.

can output HD - and we're talking HD, 720p
here - material on current DVD media so long as
you're authoring on a G5 (or eventually, an Intel
Core-Duo machine).
However, and this is the part that makes it very
limited, you can only play those discs back on
a G5 (or Intel Core Duo) machine. No current set-top
players (that I'm aware of) can play back H.264 or
MPEG-2 HD-DVDs. (Oddly enough, players that decode
VC-1 [aka HD Windows Media] DVDs are available)

It's very frustrating to purchase all of this music and expect great sound and playability and get "skipping". Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

Does the issue occur when listening to the media using the speaker or wired headphones? If it does, the issue is with the media itself.
If it does not, it's likely a bad connection or interference.

Where did my file directory go? I thought my mail was backed up in my .me account and now that my computer was stolen and I need to restore my emails all I can find are the ones in my inbox

Encore csa wants to transcode files that are already dvd compliant

I have a PPCS4 sequence that is already DVD compliant. The video files are .mpg and the settings for the sequence are NTSC. I can author the individual files in Encore with no problems, but when I import the sequence they're edited into in PP, Encore claims they are untrancoded. The original files were AVCHD, and I transcoded them into vob, and then to mpg, because PP wouldn't open vob files. I've tried countless ways to get the best quality final product, and the AVCHD-vob-mpg seems to be the best. I just can't stop encore from transcoding and then my final product is crap. The footage is interlaced and it has serious "combing" when I have Encore encode it again. Below are the settings for all of the various files/sequences/projects. If anyone can shed light on this, I'd be very grateful.

Personally, I would not go from AVCHD>VOB>MPG.
I would go from AVCHD (if that is all there is) to an interim uncompressed 4:2:2 Quicktime first & then encode that straight to DVD compliant MPEG-2.
You don;t mention if your .mpg file is an audio/video multiplex, and given the retranscoding I suspect it is.
Encore prefers elementary streams (separated audio & vide) where the video is an .m2v file and the audio is a 16/48 LPCM file.
The reason your transcodea are looking so bad is because AVCHD is lossy, and going to a multiplexed VOB file is also lossy, then from this to .mpg and you are losing detail every single time you go through another lossy version.
Take your source files, encode to interim lossless/uncompressed & from there to MPEG-2.

Data on 4 of 5 calendars disappeared. Apple support could not help either on phone or in person at store. I thought the info was backed up, but it was not. The data is gone, but I still wonder what happened.

Data on 4 of 5 calendars on ical covering dates from 1/1/2013 through 1/22/2014 simply disappeared. Apple support could not offer an explanation, after two hours on the phone, and over an hour at the Apple store (genius bar). I thought the data was backed up, but data for the same dates was also missing from my external hard drive.
All the information prior to 1/1/2013 and after 1/22/2014 still exists, along with dates into the future. The missing data apparently no longer exists anywhere, but I am curious as to what may have happened, and is there something I can do to prevent it from happening again. Backing up on an external hard drive is obviously not the answer.

Have you tried resetting Calendars in iCloud ?
If not, open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Calendars then reselect it.
Give iCloud a few minutes to re sync the data if it can.

Not through iCloud, but are they still on your iPad or iPhone? Open Photos, then go to the Albums and see if they are still in the main Camera Roll rather than My Photo Stream. If they are in there, it would be a good idea to sync the devices to a computer so you can store the photos.

H.264 to DVD Studio Pro

I am new to this but why in Compressor does it say I can use H.264 for DVD Studio Pro and then DVD studio pro only sees it as a audio file???

I have the same problem with 1080p25 h264 .mov file created with compressor HD DVD settings.
DVD Studio Pro 4.2.1 Release notes claim that :
DVD Studio Pro now correctly supports the following H.264 formats for native use in PAL HD projects:
720p25
720p50
1080p25
Native support means that the files are not reencoded when they are imported into the appropriate NTSC or PAL HD project. In some cases, however, frames may be set to repeat during playback to create the HD DVD specification’s required frame rate.
But DVD Studio Pro seams to only see the audio part of the .mov file.
720p video works fine. The problem is only with 1080p video. I guess there is a bug somewhere...

I have an IPOD Classic 30GB. I thought the battery was not recharging so I bought a new battery and had it installed. The device will come on and has a message on the screen "Please wait. Very low battery."

I have an IPOD Classic 30GB. It would not stay on but a few seconds so I thought the battery was not recharging and bought a new battery. I charged the new battery overnight and when I turned it on I could see the apple for only a few seconds and it would go off. I tried the trouble shooting suggestions and reset the device. The screen is frozen with the message "Please Wait. Very low battery." I also thought it might be a problem with the display but since it is on now, I'm not sure what is going on with it.

The flashing folder/question mark means the computer can't find a volume to start up from. See this Apple article for steps to take. But since it was running very slowly, I won't be all that encouraging that this can be resolved using those steps. It probably means the internal hard drive died. The slowness may have been a warning it was about to fail.

Well, it may help enormously if you had all your data backed up there to restore from, if it is clear you need a new internal drive. What kind of backup was it, a clone or Time Machine?

I approved lots Apple Store in Malaysia, non could help me and all said the same, if you don't download Find Phone, there's no way you can trace it back. No doubt what they all had said is not wrong....but my heart said, am sure there's always a way to track or trace it back even without the Find Phone Apps. 1st: Why build a system which so smart with all serial no and codes, but the "Find Phone" its not one of the Apps for iPhone?
2nd: Why must customer need to download "Find Phone" Apps and the rest of the Apple Apps in inside the Phone...? Doesn't make sense....
3rd: In any movie, you watched they will break the phone or throw it away and so they are not able to trace the person but the phone still can be trace or track...unless the person break the chips or put into Fire to destroy it completely, then YES, i believe it can't be trace or track.
