I tried getting the update for my new iphone and now it is asking me to activate it again but won't let me, how do I fix this? I had started using it for a few hours and tried getting the update and now it won't let me activate the phone. I also can't call the helpline because it won't let me leave this screen on the phone that says "Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes." What it says on iTunes after I fill out the activation info is "There was a problem activating your iPhone. Please contact Verizon Wireless at 1-800-922-0204 to have this iPhone added to your account. Click Continue to be able to explore its features and the App Store." Please help this is driving me nuts!

    do you have a default "managed" library (the iPhoto preference to "copy imported items to the iPhoto library is in its checked state) or a referenced library (that preference has been unchecked)?
    Where did you change this folder name - in the iPhoto library using the finder (if so you have made a very bad error and unless you can restore it from a backup or change it to exactly what it was you will have to start over from your original photos - NEVER make any changes of any sort to the structure or content of the iPhoto library using the finder or any other program)  --  or is it a folder in iPhoto under the albums sedtion (that does not affect yoru photos)

    The iPod sees the new computer as a new iTunes library. You can only sync with one iTunes library.  However, you can manage music among disfferent computers.  See:

    How long does a charge last since the update?
    Have you reset the network settings? Settings>General>Reset>reset Network Settings>Enter 4 digit passcode>Reset Network Settings

    There is no way to consolidate iTunes accounts.
    Setting up an iPhone has never required creation of a new Apple ID.
    You've apparently purchased content with both Apple ID's.  Sign into the device with the correct Apple ID and sync the content.

    Note 1:  every day more users are reporting problems with iPhoto 8.1.2 so I've included it in the non compatible category.
    Note 2:  If your previous version of iPhoto was iPhoto 7 (08) or earlier you'll need to download and run the iPhoto Library Upgrader 1.1 application on the library before opening it with iPhoto 9.5.1.

    I have a pc that my iPhone and a friends iPhone are authorized on. When I recently backed up her iPhone it asked for my id to update apps. I removed the apps from her phone hoping to fix this. She is getting ready to get a new iPhone and I need to correct this.

    Working as designed. You did tell it to use your computer, which in turn is tied to your ID.
    Will need to set up another computer, or at least log in thru a different account on yours, so a different ID is associated to the iTunes instance.

    With the Error 2, let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
    Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

    Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:

    Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
    Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
    Does it install properly for you?
    If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

    Restart your PC, then restart your iPhone/iPad. Then once your computer reboots, connect the devices using the USB cable.

    A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
    Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

    Please read this whole message before doing anything.
    This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches. 
    Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
    Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
    The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
    Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

    If your problem persists get yourself a micro USB cable (sold separately), you can restore your Apple TV from iTunes:
    Remove ALL cables from Apple TV. (if you don't you will not see Apple TV in the iTunes Source list)
    Connect the micro USB cable to the Apple TV and to your computer.
    Reconnect the power cable (only for Apple TV 3)
    Open iTunes.
    Select your Apple TV in the Devices list, and then click Restore.
    (You may already have a micro USB cable if you have a camera or other digital device)
