I noticed that firefox updated last night before I shut down my computer, then when I turned it on this morning I received the error message I described above. It will not let me open firefox.

I solved the problem by reinstalling the updated version and it now works fine. Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.

Had to uninstall Firefox as it stopped working. The went to website and downloaded Firefox once more. Pressed the .exe and the file went through the installation okay, but when I tried to open Firefox I get:

The only option i have is to press OK and nothing else happens.

Just installed Firefox 5.0 yesterday. No problems till now.
Came in for the day. Had last used Firefox about 3 hours earlier without incident. Tried to open, but message said it was already open so I should restart it, or failing at that, restart my system. After rebooting, I get this eror message when I try to open Firefox.

I keep getting this error message when opening Firefox on my computer. However, if I run it as an Administrator it works fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox including downgrading to older versions and still no luck. This is the Error I get:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you use ZoneAlarm Extreme Security then disable Virtualization and reinstall Firefox.<br />
Other security software may have similar features to prevent Firefox from updating files properly.

It just didn't occur to me to do so.
My intent was to report that there was at least one other user encountering a similar problem. It occurred to me that Adobe might be interested in determining the scale of a problem which causes one of their best known products to fail to run quite so completely after a clean install
I also see that I misreported the OS I'm running - its Windows 8.
If there is further information I can provide which might be helpful in determining a solution, if someone could be specific about what would be helpful, then I will try to respond appropriately.

The X230 has Intel HD 4000 graphics support built in to the processor. Windows was pretty stubborn about refusing driver updates, but I just managed to get drivers from the Intel site to install and Photoshop is now running, so hopefully I need not try your patience any further.
In case anyone else has a similar problem and stumbles on this the way to install the driver that worked was to:
- download the zip version of the generic driver from Intel
- use the 'have disk' option in the windows dialog to install the driver - other paths in the UI did not work with windows refusing to install the driver.

Try doing a hard reset:
Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
After that: go to Settings - iCloud - Storage and backup - turn off the iCloud backup
and backup with iTunes from now on

Yikesyou have helped me before and I thank you for that. Funny how at the last resort I ask a question and then an hour later I fix something that has been broken for five days. I got off on the wrong foot with Lightroom installation and I really stepped in it...a lot had to do with a bad hard drive and all that. I still have remnants of catalogues etc so I am never quite sure where I am. I ran a search and found more than one .lrdata files. it seems my subscription had expired so I signed up again.. It was still having trouble so I repeated the sign up process again.. Then it worked perfectly.. Unfortunately, I think I just subscribed twice and need to cancel one of them. Ugh. Such a pain when I'm trying to get this project completed. I'll be canceling at least one of the subscriptions in the morning. Adobe is not my favorite company right now. None of this was intuitive. And trying to get help was an absolute waste of an hour.

Open the Mac App Store and go to Purchases. Do you see Final Cut Pro X listed?
If so, open a Finder window, choose Applications in the sidebar and delete Final Cut Pro X. Then, go to the Mac App Store and download Final Cut Pro X for free.
