  • My iPhone will not get past the connect to iTunes screen. I tried downloading iOS 8.0.2 and it downloaded but then cancelled because of an error. My iPhone will not do anything at all.

So my iPhone 5s will not let me get past the connect to iTunes page.
Thursday night I went to go download iOS 8.0.2 and it said I needed to connect to iTunes. So I plugged my cord into my laptop and it opened up iTunes and proceeded to tell me that I needed to update and restore. So I clicked it and it began updating. After over a day, and many different attempts, it finally downloaded all the way through and then said it was processing the item. After this, there was a said error and I had to restart the update. I haven't been able to use my phone at all and it will not let me get past the connect to iTunes page. Please help.

I was able to restore my phone!!!
I called Apple and they said there was nothing more I could do. I called my carrier Verizon and was able to get my computer to recognize my device after trying this-
    Solution:
After trying EVERYTHING this is the ONLY thing that worked-
I took the USB connector cable out of the USB port it was in, and tried another one on the otherside of my laptop and iTunes was able to discover my phone in recovery mode. My phone was reset and everything is fine ( thank gosh for backup copies!)

  • My Ipad is stuck on the connect to itunes screen and I cannot get it to work even when I connect to itunes. I have tried switching it off and plugging it in while the home button and on button are switched but nothing works.  Please help me.

My Ipad is stuck on the connect to iTunes screen, I have tried plugging into iTunes but it makes the necessary noise but the computer does not recognise it and nothing alters on the Ipad screen. Have tried various computers and leads and it still does not work.  Have also tried the switching off, plugging in to computer and turning on again using the on button and then the home button but nothing works.  This happened while I was downloading software update.   Please help me.

I suggested several things to GeekyNerdGirl in her first post here. Take a look.
My iPad is in what seems like permanent restore mode after iOS 7.2 update?
It can take more than a few attempts before Recovery Mode will work and you have to follow the steps exactly. DFU mode is even harder to perform correctly beside of the 10 second hold. Don't stop trying. Eventually one of these methods could work for you.

  • My Iphone is stuck at the "connect to Itunes" screen and in Itunes itself it only shows a blank screen.

While fully restoring my Iphone it is stuck at the "connect to Itunes" screen and in Itunes itself it only shows a blank screen.
I already tried different computers and tried a DFU firmware restore. My iphone is not jailbroken or some.
It does just have a new screen due the fact it was broken.
Sometimes Itunes says my iphone is damaged, sometimes it only shows a blank screen.
But whatever I do, I cant go around the "connect to Itunes" screen.
    Anyone any suggestions? please help.

    Did you find a solution?
My touch is doing the same thing.

  • HT201263 when i try to reset my ipod it stops at 10minutes and the ipod turns itself on and acts like ive done nothing to it, it has been stuck on the "connect to itunes screen" and it wont reset. why?

when i try to reset my ipod it stops at 10minutes and the ipod turns itself on and acts like ive done nothing to it, it has been stuck on the "connect to itunes screen" and it wont reset. why?

After you place the iPod in recovery mode using
iOS: Unable to update or restore
You have to then connect the iPod to your computer and restore via iTunes. Are you doing that?

  • My ipod touch is shpwing the "connect to itunes" screen.. and on connecting to itunes and clicking on "restore" it shows error 3014.. what do i do?

my ipod touch is showing the "connect to itunes" screen.. and on connecting to itunes and clicking on "restore" it shows error 3014.. what do i do?

Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
Test restoring while connected to a known-good network.

  • HT1349 My ipod was submerged in water monentarily. I have dried it with a hair dryer and set it in the sun for 1 hour. It now will turn on and only bring up the connect to itunes screen. My keypad is locked and will not unlock by connecting to itunes.

My ipod was submerged in water momentarily. I have dried it with a hair dryer and have placed it in the sun for 1 hour.  It will now turn on but will only bring up the connect to itunes screen. When I connect to itunes it is not recognized because it is locked with a security code. I have tried to reset the ipod using the instructions in the user manual to no avail. The accessibility screen is functional because I can turn on/off the voice over and the black and white screen. I think I am making progress but cannot unlock it. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks

Unfortunately, using a hair dryer or placing the iPhone in sunlight, at best, will dry the outside of the device. If water got inside, it may still be possible that this water has not dried and can short out the internal battery or cause other circuit damage ... and what you are seeing may be the results of that. I would recommend that you leave the iPhone turned off and take it to your local Apple Store. They may be able to help, but I wouldn't expect them to offer you a replacement. Sorry!

  • After restoring my ipod touch multiple times it still goes to the connect to itunes screen, freezes then goes to a white screen

Ok so i have restored my iPod touch multiple times the restore is "successful" my iPod touch 2g goes to the connect to iTunes screen then it just freezes. After about one minute it goes to a white screen until it dies. Any ideas?

If it does it after restoring to factory defaults/new iPod then yo have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • HT1414 my iphone is stuck in the "connect to iTunes" screen! even if I turn it off or reboot it! What can I do?

My iphone is stuck. I tried to update the iOS to get iCloud. Whilst updating the software an error occured (don´t know which) and the screen now is fixed on the "connect to iTUnes". I tried to turn it off, but when turning back on, the apple appears, and then again the connect to itunes screen.
My itunes does not recognise the iphone.
    What can i do?

Leave it plugged in, and iTunes open, and hold the home and power buttons at the same time. This is a reset. The screen should go dark for a brief moment before the Apple logo reappears. At this point, let go of the power button but continue holding the home button. Let go when you see the Connect to iTunes screen, and iTunes should say it has detected a device in Recovery Mode. Click restore.

  • I keep getting the "connect to itunes" screen and have to restore my ipad.  it will also drop the wifi connection every few mintues.  what can be causing this?

I keep getting the "connect to itunes" screen and have to connect to itunes and do a restore on it.  It will not pick up my ipad so I either have to do a restore or restore to new and it will work fine for a day or so except for dropping the wifi connection.  What can be causing this?  I have had this pad since January of this year and have not had any problems until recently.

If you have to keep restoring your iPad with iTunes repeatedly and there is no change after restoring as a new iPad or not from the iPad's backup, your iPad has a major problem - likely a hardware problem. The iPad includes a one year warranty. You can call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.
