if it does not let you restore plug in to youre computer or mac and hold down both home and power button until the computer says found restore for iphone and restore

I connected my i phone 5 to the computer to download a photograph but the phoen has now frozen and a sloider bar but it won't respond. Even when using the power and home buttons it just comes back to the same frozen display.

Are you trying to update your iPhone using iTunes on your computer? If so, did you make purchases through the iTunes Store or App Store on your iPhone, and fail to sync them with your computer? That is the likely meaning of what you are seeing. If this is true, the purchases would be added to iTunes in your computer before the upgrade proceeds. -
tried synching iphone for the first time on new PC and got error followed by itunes logo and USB cable picture. No idea what went wrong and now phone is in this screen locked. please help!
I tried connecting to iTunes and neither the PC nor iTunes recognizes the device. I went through all the troubleshooting on the Apple website for this issue and nothing worked. I would hate to have lost all my info, especially contacts and calendar items since I have no idea what was backed up prior to the phone getting locked on this screen. I've been told that my only option is to go to the phone carrier and they will reset it for me, but that means it will wipe out all the info.
I hope someone has a fix other than that one. -

the screen shows only itunes logo and USB cableplug your ipod into itunes...it may not do anything plugging it into your own itunes so you may want to try plugging it into someone elses to save the trouble. I had this same problem last week plugged it into my dads ipod and it worked (:

I just tried updating the most recent software on my 3GS (on my Mac) but it said the updated on my phone failed. Now my phone is frozen and only showing the itunes logo and USB cable. When I connect to the USB lead, its says: iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes.
Have I lost all the data on my phone?

I have just purchased a new macbook and need to sync my iphone with itunes, i understand that you can only sync your phone with one itunes account. I do not want to wipe my iphone when syncing with this new itunes account. Any advice welcome
1) authorize iTunes on the new machine for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it. -
When I try to download iTunes, I get error message indicating that the download program is for 32-bit, whereas I have 64-bit. How can I download 64-bit iTunes installer?
What version of windows do you have ? 64 bit only exists for Vista and Windows 7, not for XP (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1047)

I did a recovery of my iphone4. After extracting, recovery and verifying completing, my iphone restarted. But still i can only see the picture with iTunes and USB port in the iphone 4. Only the emergency call is allowed.
After recovery and re-start of my iphone4 the itunes doesn't detect my phone. What should i do nowDFU Mode and restore again, if it doesn't work, well then...I suggest you try using a custom firmware maker (sn0wbreeze), NOT for the jailbreak, just to try and fix your phone.
