I tried to get a song off my icloud beta on my ipod touch and it deleted all my music...why?
I downloaded a song from the ipod touch itunes store, but it wouldn't show up in my library. I found it under the purchased music section in itunes and it had a cloud next to it. It also was listed under the not on this device tab. So I clicked the cloud on my ipod touch 4th gen and it downloaded but then deleted all the music in my library. Has this happened to anyone else???

Sometimes that you see something it saves in cache, (or could be that the show is in progress to be deleted) so here's the problem.
Just restart your device to see if the cache of the shows deletes themselves.
Then try to import your music again.

I tried to add a ringtone that is in my tones on itunes but it wont go to my phone. I did the sync after I checked the box to add the single ringtone but itunes deleted all my music off my phone. None of my songs were purchased through itunes and my phone was backed up through icloud 3 days ago. How can I get my music back and how can I add 1 stinking ringtone to my phone?

ive got an ipod touch and im trying to update it im using a laptop ive used for quite a while now but its coming up with the message that u get when u dont normaly use that computer. so i tranfered all my apps to my laptop when i update it will i be able to transfer all them apps back onto my ipod?
- Yes. If you also want to retain app data, connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up. Then restore from that backup. The restore will also update the iOS.

I deleted a song from iTunes and it deleted all the music from the artist?
I was deleting a duplicate song from an album of an artist that I have a lot of music from and somehow iTunes deleted all the music from that artist. It's not supposed to do that especially when you're only deleting one song. Has anyone had this happen? It wasn't music that I bought from the iTunes store it was off cds.

Trying to get Mac Pro wi fi to be recognized by iPOD touch
My mac Pro was purchased with the Aiport Extreme card. I can use airport on the MAc to connect to my remote Airport Express card to pipe music to my hi fi. I cannot get the iPOD touch to establish a wi fi connection to the Mac though. When I turn airport on it says Home WLAN selected in the mac airport menu. I also have a wireless router but it is hard wired to my Mac from my cable internet modem. But when I turn on the wireless feature of the router the iPOD touch will imemdiately find it and it works great. I would like to keep the wireless router turned off (wireless part) and just connect wi fi style from my touch to my Mac Pro. When I look at network prefs for Airport it looks like it is configured. What did I miss in configuring here? Appreciate any help you can provide.

Also the iPOD touch has an app called "remote" which lets you manage iTunes from the iPOD touch device remotely while streaming music to the airport express box (and hi fi). I'm wondering how I would need to set up the Mac to do this. The Mac already connects to the Airport express card (instead of Home LAN) to stream iTunes music. -
Old problem that has never been figured out: I had hundreds of songs on my old laptop before itunes, some of them downloads from years ago and some of them ripped from CDs. After getting an ipod touch a few years ago, I put all 900 and some of the old songs plus new ones purchased from itunes on the ipod and played them for a long time (year or 2 probably?). Now, all of the sudden the non-itunes songs are grey on my computer AND ipod, and I am not able to click on them or play them. Why is this?
New problem that I will be severely p1ssed off about if it can't be resolved: Previously mentioned laptop with all of the music on it stopped working, so I purchased a new laptop and now, the only songs that show up in my newly downloaded itunes are the purchased ones. No music from old downloads, no music from CD's, and no playlists created on my old computer. Only a list of the songs that I purchased directly from itunes. I no longer have all the CD's that funded my 950+ song collection and have no way of getting that music (or the downloaded music) back if I can't access the broken laptop. The rest of my music is still on my iPad, so how do I get it from my iPad to the computer, and back on my phone? All my music is sitting there safely on my iPad, but whenever I try to sync it with my computer the only option I get is to wipe the iPad and replace it with the files on the computer---which is only a fraction of what I had originally. How do I fix this?? It even deleted my playlists, and I now only have some 200 songs left out of what used to be over 1000!

When you plugged it in, iTunes said 'Oh goody! You got a new phone! Would you like to make it just like your old phone?'...
You explicitly said 'Yes'.
You can't undo that.
No backup of the current state of the new phone was made. It was wiped and the last backup of your old phone was restored to it.
Anything you had on the new phone is gone. -
Help! I updated my iPod Touch and I lost all of my media! How do I get it back?
I just updated my iPod Touch with the new version of iTunes, but I lost all of my songs and apps! My whole library is saved on a seperate computer, but it is not updated with the newest version of iTunes so I can't just sync my iPod with that. All of my songs are saved onto a flash drive but not my apps.
