Error 2330 when trying to install adobe reader 9.1
Trying to install adobe reader 9.1 on an hp laptop (pavilion dv6936us entertainment notebook pc...to be exact). It has windows vista home premium 64-bit os. when i try to install i get error message that says "Error 2330 Error getting file attributes: c:\Program file (x86)\Adobe\Reader9.0\Reader. Get last error: 1392. Please help.
Did you look "manually" for remnants of an old Reader installation ? (you could eventually try searching the drive for files and folders named Adobe )
Some suggests , as the previous thread contributor , that this is an issue with respect to remnants of an old installation :

Other suggests it could be a corrupted file issue :
and suggests :
At a command prompt (run as administrator), do:
C:\>chkdsk c: /f /v
and then reboot the machine. A chkdsk of the system drive can only run while
the system is booting.

someone else suggests that it could be a permission issue :

I am trying to install Adobe Reader my wife's laptop but "installer" hangs up and fails with a blank black screen. The machine is capable and has a Vista OS. My wife blames the machine and wants to "throw it out." She's an idiot but I need to get this fixed.
run the cleaner (Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs) and then retry installing.

While trying to update Adobe Reader XI 10.0.06 to 10.0.07 on my laptop running W7 Home Premium x 64, I get error message 2203. The same occurs if I try to uninstall before manually install the new version. Can you please help?
PS.- Thank you very much for your Support in trying to solve a problem created by yourselves.

Try removing the current Reader using http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, then install 11.0.07 from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/ -

I've tried to install Adobe Reader on my mom's computer, and after doing so, absolutely EVERYTHING on her computer turned into an Adobe file, including the shortcuts for Firefox. Is there a reason/fix for this?
You'll want to read this: Application, file icons change to Acrobat/Reader icon

When trying to install Adobe Reader, I am being prompted for my password. The ID was wrong so I changed to to the correct one but the password did not work. I went on the Apple site to reset my password and tried again but to no avail. What can I do to install Adobe?
Mac's Safari browser supports PDF documents
Adobe Reader is not good at security issues, if you can, avoid using/downloading it.
PDF
Safari also includes built-in support for viewing PDF files. When you follow a link to a PDF in Safari, such as a user guide, it's displayed in the Safari window without having to open another app. Safari's built-in find and zoom features work with PDFs too.

Trying to install Acrobate 8 Standard on PC with Windows 7, 64 bit. During the installation I was asked to provide "File Adobe PDF.dll for Windows Vista. How can I obtain the required file?
Nothing in the Acrobat 8.x product family is compatible with Windows 7 (or any contemporary OS).
The Acrobat 8.x product family passed into End of Support way back -- (November 2011).
The current release of Acrobat (XI) is compatible in Windows 7.

When I try to install adobe reader, no "yelloe Bar" with an "allow" option appears
I am trying to install adobe reader and the firefox instructions say a yellow Bar will appear with an option to "allow" the download. No such bar appears
Ignore those instructions. You just need to download the setup file from Adobe and run it to install Adobe Reader.
A direct link for the setup file for the English Windows version of Adobe Reader 9.3.4 is http://ardownload.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/9.x/9.3.4/enu/AdbeRdr934_en_US.exe -

I have a computer running Windows 8 with no internet connection. Is there a way to install Adobe Reader onto the machine with either CD or a USB drive?
Also, would there be a simple way to keep Adobe Reader updated offline?Download the FULL installer here: http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

my business partner signed up for the acrobat xl pro, and added me to the account. it send me an email to download and install, but after it downloads, nothing happens, can't double click on it to open, it just does nothing on the double click. I tried to download again, and still same thing. I am on a mac with latest OS. Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?
he is on a pc, we bought a subscription to the license and was told it's 180 a year or 14.99 monthly per user, on the business plan. So the sales rep on the phone walked us through adding the people who will be added to account who will need a license to use. the sales rep said that we just need to go to that section and add users and it will email the user a link to download the file and install

Trying to install Adobe Reader and won't run!
I uninstalled Adobe Reader because nothing would come up when websites had PDF files any more. I figured it would be really easy to reinstall Reader from the website and now nothing happens when I try to run the installer. (I had to download the installer in Safe Mode, by the way, because my computer didn't let me install it through the normal means). I have a lot of pdf files on my computer I need to view every day and now I'm in a world of hurt because I can't open them. Can someone please help me figure out how to get my installer to work? Thanks!
I'm not sure what you mean about clearing everything after Adobe. I did want to say that when I try to download the installer, I get the error message --
"Setup.exe application error. The instruction at 0x02a10a4 referenced memory at 0x0a28f0e.3. The memory could not be read. Click on OK to terminate the program."
When I try to close the error box, it basically stops everything from working.
I got the installer to work only as far as to get through the first phase. When it starts to actually download, this error message comes up.
