I tried to install Firesheep and got an error stating Firesheep is not compatable with Firefox 7.0.1, is that true?
is there anyway Firesheep will work with Firefox 7.0.1? The exact error message I recieved is below in quotes.
"Firesheep could not be installed because it is not compatable with Firefox 7.0.1."

With Macs and OS X, you shouldn't let the hard drive get below 15 GBs or less of free data space.
If it does, it's time for some hard drive housecleaning.
Follow some of my tips for cleaning out, deleting and archiving data from your Mac's internal hard drive.
Have you emptied your iMac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto, iPhoto has its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you store images in other locations other than iPhoto, then you will have to weed through these to determine what to archive and what to delete.
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Look though other Apple Mail folders like the junk mail and delete the mail that is in there. Look through your sent items folders and see there is any mail in there that can be deieted.
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive to disc, flash drives or external hard drive, older emails you want to save.
Other things you can do to gain space.
Once you have around 15 GBs regained, do a search, download and install OmniDisk Sweeper.
This app will help you locate files that you can move/archive and/or delete from your system.
STAY AWAY FROM DELETING ANY FILES FROM OS X SYSTEM FOLDER!
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, flash drives, ext. hard drives or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Look in your Applications folder, if you have applications you haven't used in a long time, if the app doesn't have a dedicated uninstaller, then you can simply drag it into the OS X Trash icon. IF the application has an uninstaller app, then use it to completely delete the app from your Mac.
Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
When you install and launch it, let it do its initial automatic tests, then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run the maintenance tabs that let OnyX clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be archived or moved, also, to the optical discs, flash drives or external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.

I am using iphone 3GS, after syncing for few times and got the errors. I deleted the backup from Edit-> Preferences-> Devices. Then I synced again, there was an error message: itunes could not back up the iphone because the backup was corrupt or not compatible with the iphone. What can I do? I have no backup anymore on ituens.

I closed iTunes & manually deleted the file which was still stored locally even though it didn't display in Preferences. I have vista so I went to
C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync and deleted everything in the Backup folder (though I left the folder as is). If you have a different OS search the apple website for the backup location.
I reopened iTunes & Synced with out a problem. I also got the update to install.

When i opened firefox today , there were updates but when it tried to update it came back that java and real player updates were not compatable with my firefox. I have Firefox 6. Will these 2 programs still work all right if they are not updated?
I'm sorry I don't know what installed plugins I have. After putting in search it says I have Java 6 Standard Edition Update 26. I have Real Player(tm)(win32), Version 14.0.4 652. Hope that is enough informationI just had a similar issue and I ended having to manually clean up the registry to get Java working again.
I just got a new computer at work and it had Java 7 installed but it turns out an app we need to use at work doesn't work with Java 7, only Java 6.
I uninstalled Java 7 and installed Java 6 but Firefox was not showing the Java plugin as installed. I tried all sorts of things, including uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox and none of it worked. Finally I again uninstalled Java and then I searched for "Java" in the registry and found TONS of entries still in there for Java, including for Java 7. I manually deleted all the entries (WARNING: this is extremely risky) rebooted, then installed Java 6 and now it's working fine.
I really hate it when uninstallers leave stuff behind. It just makes a mess. -
went to use create & print in bluemountain got "In order to use create & print in Mozilla you must download and install latest version. Do you want to install plug-in?" (clicked OK). Next message was "Firefox prevented this site (www.bluemountain.com) from asking you to install software on your computer" (clicked Allow) Next message "Create & Pring plugin could not install because it is not compatible with firefox 4.0.1" -- this sound like a firefox problem not bluemountain. Please help... I am paying to use bluemountain and firefox is not letting me get my $$$$ worth out of that site.
Launch Disk Utility in /Utilities. Then, click on the volumes under the top-level disk. The one that has this listed on the bottom is the boot volume.

Tried to install 10.4, got an error message, now nothing works!!
So I got an 800Mhz eMac for my mother. It came with 10.2.8, she needed 10.4 to be able to install Skype. I got 10.4 on 16 discs and started installing it, at disc 9, I got an error message. After that it told me to insert OSX INSTALL disc 2. Everytime I put it in, it spits it back out, I tried every other disc, doesn't change anything. Tried restarting by putting in Disc 1 and doing the C button start-up, doesn't change anything. I even tried other restore discs that I have and no result.
Please Help, thank youYou will probably have to erase and install the operating system using the good disk. You may be able to backup if you can use Target Disk Mode to retrieve your critical data of the machine to another Mac.

Furthermore you have broken your friend's license agreement by installing those disks on your computer. They are only licensed for use with your friend's computer.
In the future never try to circumvent the law like this, it can land you in deep trouble.
Once you are done backing up, use the startup manager to start the good disk, and go through the procedure to erase and install from the options of installation when you nothing but a keyboard and mouse connected:

I am trying to install iTunes on my Windows 7 laptop and get this error:
"The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured Errors occurred during installation. Your system has not been modified"
Arghhhhh!! I've tried different browsers and various other things suggested on other posts to no availOk people, I think I have found the solution !
If you click on the start button from your desktop screen.
Then in the "search programs and files" field type : apple software update - you can find the apple installer.
Click on the apple software update line and let the machine run it's course. I recommend updating whatever it wants to , ie: safari 5, quicktime, itunes....
I then restarted my computer and it seems to be working now !

I have lost my Zynga Tool bar and when I try to reinstall it, downloads but fails during the install process telling me that Firefox can not modify a file that it needs to.

There is no free version of CS2. The download you are using is for people who purchased CS2 but are no longer able to reinstall their original files.

Message was edited by: janicefromiselinWhen you do an update via a computer's iTunes the update process will backup the device (a backup doesn't contain the actual apps, just their content/settings), wipe the device, install the update, and then restore the backup - the restore would look to pick up your apps, music, films etc from the iTunes library.
You've tried logging out (tap on your id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app) and back in and seeing if they then show in the Purchased tab, and you could also check to see if the apps are hidden from Purchased : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases.
If an app is no longer in the store then you won't be able to redownload it. You haven't got copies of your apps in your own computer's iTunes library and/or on your backup of your downloads/library ? -

I tried to Safe Boot but after getting the spinning gear and the progress bar, the computer shut down.It sounds like the upgrade to Mavericks was enough disk activity to be the straw that broken the camels back. It sounds like your disk died during the upgrade.
Have you tried to do a boot from the Recovery Partition with Command + R depressed during booting?

My computer crashed. Ugh. I downloaded Photoshop CS3 (my first full version) and when I tried to upgrade ( I have upgrades to CS6) I get an error message. I remember having to call Adobe for help when I purchased CS4 but can't find a number to call them. I keep getting directed to help screens which are no help.
Any solutions? Is there a "generic" serial number I can enter to get my upgrades installed?
I have a photoshoot that I need to edit asap. I really don't want to have to go back to CS3 version.

I would recommend contacting our support team directly at Contact Customer Care to see if the qualifying full version serial number can be found. Also I would recommend referencing case 0181578817 which is your previous case from 2010. -
Phone worked fine all day...charged it and it went into recovery mode. Tried to restore it on 2 different macs and received error 29 message. Any suggestions?
