Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • I'm trying to install the 30-day trial version of Photoshop Elements 13 on my Mac

I'm trying to install the 30-day trial version of Photoshop Elements 13 on my Mac.   I keep getting the following msg:
    OS requirement not met:
    -Current OS : Mac 10.7.5 64 bit
    - Max OS 10.8.0 or above required
I'm running on OS X 10.7.5, so will I be unable to run Photoshop Elements 13?

That is correct Mfrazier65.  Photoshop Elements 13 requires Mac OS 10.8 or later.  You can find a list of the system requirements at System requirements | Adobe Photoshop Elements.

  • How can I stop Mozilla from trying to install the updater everytime I open it?

I had issues where Firefox eats memory searching for updates. I disabled the Updater, now every time I open Firefox, it tries to reinstall it. so i open Fire fox, the computer asks me if I want to let the Mozilla Updater" make changes to my computer. I say no and then firefox opens. Is there anyway to keep "updater" from trying to install everytime I open firefox?

Do you mean the updating service that Firefox installs and that Windows runs in the background? You can turn that on and off with a checkbox in the Options dialog. See this article: [[Advanced settings for accessibility, browsing, system defaults, network, updates, and encryption]].

  • I am running Aperture 3.1.2, and trying to install the updates (3.1.3, 3.2.2, 3.2.3), but after opening the .dmg image, installer says I need to have Aperture 3 installed, which I have. Any help would be appreciated.

I am running Aperture 3.1.2 and trying to install updates, but the installer cannot "see" my application and won't proceed with the installation.

Read another entry and solved the problem. I had changed the application's title to read Aperture3, instead of its orignal descriptor "Aperture." Sorry to have used the space, but thanks for the help.

  • I am trying to install the updated iTunes and it says "Older version of iTunes cannot be removed". Help!

I have tried seraching for the older version files and can't find anything on my computer.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • So, I was trying to install the update to iTunes...

I was attempting to install the 11.0 update to iTunes, and it almost finished but then gave me an error message saying "Error writing to file:
C:\programdata\188F432-103A-4ffb-80F1-36B633C5C9E1\x86\x86\GEARAspiWDM.sys. Verify that you have access to that directory"
I'm on a 32-Bit Windows 7 Home Premium Desktop Computer. 2GB RAM, Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2180 2.00GHz Processor, if that stuff matters.
Originally it had Vista and I had a slightly similar problem, but at that time nothing at all would install.
I want to get to sleep, but I got to figure this out first...
If someone wants an image of it, or thinks it will help, I'll provide that.

Yeah, well, see, I did EXACTLY that, and then it gave me another error.

I received a notice to download a newer version of itunes.  After starting the process of downloading I got an error message which then suggested I try to download itunes again.  When I did this it showed the file was already in my system and stopped the download process.  Now I can't open my itunes to play my music.  What can I do to get it back?

  • Why do I get the message "The item referred to by this shortcut cannot be accessed. You may not have the appropriate permissions." after having installed the updated version of Firefox, and the program won't start?

I have tried to install the updated version several times, and each time I get the same message. I have never experienced this kind of a problem with Mozilla before.
I have a Windows 7 system and a new computer, so I suppose it's not a computer bug.

    Here is a pic.

  • After trying to install the new update, I am getting a message from Windows saying that an MC file is missing, reintall Itunes-which I have now done 3 times. How do I fix this?

I received the new update from Itunes and after installing, I couldnt get into my Itunes.  I get a message from Windows saying that an MC file is missing and  to reinstall I tunes.  I have reinstalled 3 times, the first time I didn't remove the old version, I installed the update over it.  Next I tried the repair function under Control Panel.  After that, I uninstalled Itunes and reinstalled again from the website.  I still get the same message about missing files from Windows.
