I tried to update my iPhone 4S to ios 8, and now it wants me to restore it...

I tried to update my iphone 4S to ios 8, but it turned off and now the screen only shows that I have to connect my iphone to iTunes. Upon connecting, it says I have to restore my iPhone. I've never actually had a fond memory of restoring my phone i  the past, so i'd rather not have to do that now. Is there anything I can do to fix my iPhone without restoring it?

As you were told in your previous post asking the exact same question, no.
You must restore your iPhone.  The answer will not change no matter how many times you ask.
