Once the Device is asking to be Restored with iTunes... it is too late to save anything...
To minimise loss... Connect to iTunes on the computer you Usually Sync with and Restore from the most recent Backup...

This will fix your problem!
To put the device in DFU mode,
1. Connect the device to iTunes
2. Hold both the power button and the home button down simultaneously
3. After 10 seconds, release the power button but leave the home button pressed
4. iTunes should then recognize that the device has entered DFU mode and ask to restore.
That should get you back on your way.

- Wait if it is an Apple problem

If I go to contacts for a split second the + sign is there and then it goes. Also on Mail,Contacts, Calendars in Settings opens and then in a split second goes back to desk top. oke i'm not done with the whole thing, but i'm doing that right now. Most of the advice I've already read didn't work and at a certain point it said something about shutting down programs then restart. but i notice that there are some pretty important system things in that list and i don't want to mess up my pc :s i'm not a pc genius... and because i'm dutch and my pc-language is in dutch I often have trouble translating and well... i don't always understand the technical stuff in all the articles -_-

IPod touch 5g won't sync with iTunes windows 8.1

I updated to iTunes 11.1.4.62 on windows 8.1. Now my iPod touch will not sync when it's plugged in to iTunes. I've been syncing with this pc since I got my iPod no problems until now it asked me wheather I trust this pc now I want this fixed.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features(Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (If this won't uninstall press on)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

not used the ipod for a while and wanted to update it last night. i changed the manual drag to tick as wanted all the recents downloads on the ipod. took nearly 3 hours for 270 songs to transfer. when finished i went to play a song but it had not transfered?? now today itunes is saying it can't find 'my device' need to get device back + load all songs on. please help

Ok. I am going to make this quick. I just bought a new ipod off amazon from Apple. its a 35Gb 4th Generation ipod touch. I am able to sync my itunes library sometimes. Only SOMETIMES. I have about 1200 song on it now. But evertime i plug my ipod into my PC. iTunes comes up, but freezes up. itunes works fine when the ipod is not connected, but when it is, it freezes up. I can leave it for about 5 minuets and it will unfreeze and i will be able to use itnes, but itunes wont show my ipod is connected. AT ALL. I did the diagnostic, but that freezes up to. Only sometimes will it sync. I updated to the latest version. I think this is either a issue with itunes or the ipod. because my brother has the new nano, and his syncs perfectly fine everytime. Only on my account on windows 7 with MY $300.00 ipod touch will it not work. Anyone help me out here.
This is what i have done so far:
Reset ipod via sleep wake and home key while connected < no fix
Ended any process in the background of windows, that may affect itunes < No fix
updated to latest itunes version and ipod version < No fix
That's all i could think of. This evidently is sync issue.

I upgraded my iPod touch 4g to ios6, and I have iTunes 10.7.0.21 my iPod touch will not sync my music. When it starts I receive an error about a song, different each time I've tried it.
It gets stuck most times (Step 5 of 5) Waiting for changes to be applied. Never moves past and eventually the "sync" spinning circle on the iPod disappears, but iTunes still says it's "waiting".
It appears to have sync the apps, but NO MUSIC .... HELP!
I've already rebooted several times over the past few days, I even went as far as restoring my iPod but now all I have is a really shiny paper weight, not worth a damm penny now.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm on a Windows 7 machines, while I'm not very technicial, I can follow clear steps!

I am not trying to sync with mutlitple libraries. I did an iPod restore till it was back at configuration state, then attempted to sync it with the XP system. It failed to sync with any options.
I then did another restore to try again on the Windows 7 machine and it was successful.
