when you say that your disc drive is damaged, do you mean your MacBook Pro’s hard disk drive, or do you mean its SuperDrive (the CD/DVD drive)?
When you’d updated your MacBook Pro to Mavericks, did the installation succeed, and subsequently freeze up? Or did it freeze up during the Mavericks installation?
Which version of OS X was installed on your MacBook Pro before you’d installed Mavericks?
Are you currently able to boot into the Mavericks recovery partition? To see if you can do so, hold down a Command key and the R key while starting up your MacBook Pro.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output andWi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -

NicholsFrom just blindly looking at this particular query, there doesn't seem any obvious reason why an index couldn't be extended to cover all the columns specified in the where clause.
It might not help too much -> explain plan is required first really before blindly guessing.
Obviously, there's no point having an order by and a rownum (unless you wanted to do the order by before the rownum in an outer select) - I assume this is just a Hibernatism. -
I updated the phone, and now, it won't charge through the wall charger, or through connecting to my PC. It doesn't even launch itunes or register it has connected. But the phone still palys music through my docking station. HELP!?

I have the same problem and I do anything you can imagine. If you leave your phone about two or three days and after that plug in it your phone will be power on but your problem doesn't fix. I tried to restore as a new phone, reset all my settings and also I contacted Apple Support but I couldn't fix it. I think that it would be a software issue because it occurred right after iOS 6.1.3 update. It look likes that we have only two choice. First choice is waiting until Apple release next iOS update and check it in our phones, and the other choice is visiting an Apple retail store to diagnostic our phones for hardware issue. -

Suggest you try a NVRAM / PRAM reset, as described by Apple:
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys. -

If the phone is taken to a store, troubleshooting can indeed be done. The store representative can even contact us while you're there. Do you have insurance on the device? Or, do you maybe have a prior vzw device that can be activated until the upgrade is available? You can also check your My Verizon account to see if your line( or another line on the account) is eligible for an upgrade. VZW always has options for you.

What happened was an accident and the Apple warranty does not cover accidental damages.
