I tried to update to IOS7 Error
I tried to update to IOS7 and it lights up every second it goes on and off goes on and off I think it's destroyed anyone know?
I was trying to update my iphone 5 to IOS7 and couldnt do it for 5 times then I did the following and was able to update it right away
Clearing your DNS cache may resolve the issue and enable you to connect to the iTunes Store.
The easiest way to clear your DNS cache is to shut down your computer completely and then restart. If you can't shut down, you can clear your DNS cache manually.
Click Start and choose Run.
In the dialog that appears, type “cmd” (don’t type the quotes) and click OK.
After the DOS prompt (C:\), type “ipconfig /flushdns” (without the quotes) and press Enter. Make sure you enter a single blank space after “ipconfig.”
Let me know if it solved the issue for you

Tried to update to ios7, phone was restored and now wont activate?
tried to update to ios7, phone was restored and now wont activate?
You have run into Activation Lock, a security feature of iOS 7 designed to prevent activation of lost and stolen iPads. there is no way around Activation Lock. You need to know the Apple ID and password used to set up the iPad originally.
What do you mean when you say the original Apple ID is disabled? -
Trying to update to iOS7. Update successful except a few more things to do. Now it is in "updating iCloud settings" and has been updating all night and day. Do not understand why it is taking so long? Any suggestions?
Try a Hard Reset.....
Press and hold the Wake / Sleep button AND the Home button at the same time, keep them both pressed until the Apple Logo appears on the screen, it can take 10 or more seconds. Ignore the swipe to turn off message. -
Trying to update ipad2 and error is can open url what do I do
trying to update ipad2 get error can not open URL what do I do
Try a reset and see if it resumes loading after the iPad has restarted (I assume that you are connected to a network) : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
If that doesn't work then you could try syncing it from you computer's iTunes, or dragging and dropping it from iTunes onto the iPad device -
I tried to update to ios7 but it said to plug into itunes. I've plugged it in several times but the update fails everytime and my phone continues to say plug into itunes. Any help is greatly appreciated
Your iPhone was hacked at a "small phone unlocking shop "
Only the carrier who locked the iPhone from new can unlock it no-one else
Anything else is hacking which forfeits any help from Apple and this forum
I also doubt that Orange will touch it
For an understanding what hacking does see here

Since all the UK carriers ( I assume you are in the UK )
offer unlocking you have trashed a perfectly good iPhone -

Trying to update my iphone and always getting corrupt file error any ideas how to fix it
If you're doing it over the air, try updating through iTunes.

I've got myself a new iphone 5s and I tried to update itunes. Now its telling me that this copy of itunes is corrupted or is not installed correctly Please reinstall itunes.I'm not good with computers so any help would be great.I'm scared if i reinstall i will lose everythig.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
See also HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP or HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

While trying to update, I get error message 3259.
While trying to update, I am getting error message 3259. I think is a connectivity issue but I have connected using Airport and also tried hardwiring it and no luck. This is a Nano 6th Gen. Any suggestions?

You make no mention of connecting directly to your computer. Was this done?
How are you hardwiring an iPod Nano? -
I tried to update my iPhone 5 to iOS7.2 and now it wants me to plug it into a computer. I do not have a computer, so I obviously can't plug it in. I don't know how to fix this.
If you have the 'connect to iTunes' screen then it will need to be connected to a computer's iTunes - do you know a friend or family member who has a computer with iTunes installed that they would let you use, or you could potentially go to an Apple Store and see if they can do it (though preferably make a Genius bar appointment, don't just turn up at a busy time)

Trying to update iTunes on Windows XP, get error message "The older version of Bonjour cannot be removed." I have removed several copies of the file Bonjour in a couple of different folders but the error message persists. What am I missing??
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
Tried to update Quicktime - reporting errors
Tried to update quicktime with itunes. Got a:
Error writing to file c:/program files/quicktime/qtsystems/quicktime.resources/quicktime.dll Verify that you have access to that directory
Had to abort. Tried to delete the file and reinstall quicktime. Would not let me delete. "Cannot delete Quicktime: Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)"
Now I cannot install quicktime at all.
Have Windows XPError writing to file c:/program files/quicktime/qtsystems/quicktime.resources/quicktime.dll Verify that you have access to that directory
Had to abort. Tried to delete the file and reinstall quicktime. Would not let me delete. "Cannot delete Quicktime: Data Error (cyclic redundancy check)"
hmmmm. both sets of symptoms are consistent with disk damage or file damage on the C drive.
try running a chkdsk over your C, as per the following document:
How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? if so, does a QuickTime install go through afterwards? -
Iphone 4, trying to update to ios7
i have an iphone 4...i havent updated to ios7 yet but wanted to do that now, in the past when i have tried to update it it says there is not enough space.. i just deleted all of my apps and deleted pictures down untill there was 175, deleted my texts, email account, etc. it still says it cant update, and says there is 5.8 gb used and 566 MB available, but i dont know what else i can do to open up more space?
I don't have a link handy for you, but i know that while researching whether to upgrade my 4s to iOS 7.1 I read that if you do the upgrade through iTunes while cabled to your PC, it does not have the same temporary (i.e., while updating) storage requirements. So try that rather than over wifi.
Although i would like to make the leap to iOS 7 (many of the updates for the apps that I use only support the new OS), there appear to be way to many downsides. I will wait until the next phone version comes out in the fall. -

IDCS3 & Leopard. Where'd my .AI preview go when placing?
Just upgraded to Leopard, and now when I place .AI files into an InDesign document, there's no preview, just the generic Illustrator icon. PSDs seem fine, PDFs, etc. Any one else with this issue?
