I tried to use Apple Pay at the 1280 Lexington Ave store in NY but was asked for the last 4 digits of my cardnumber and it never worked. The question itself made no sense but I tried in vain by supplying it as well as the security code. I didn't know the last 4 of my proxy card number.

Open Passbook, select the credit card you are using, touch the Info icon on the lower right. This will display the last four digits of the ‘Device Account Number’. These four digits are what your retailer wants to complete the transaction, NOT the last four digits of your card number. Some retailers require this, others do not.

If you are trying to create an Apple ID without using a credit card, you have to follow the directions in the article you were reading (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534) exactly. Note that you have to start by downloading and installing any free app, then create the ID. You shouldn't be asked for a Gift Card to create the ID.

If you purchased that app with the old ID, that is the only ID you can use to update. Apps are tied to the ID used to purchase them.

Contact Apple through iTunes Store Support, and explain that you have forgotten your 3 security questions, that you can reset your password, but doing so doesn't reset your security questions.
Remember, support will receive hundreds, if not thousands of requests per day, some from people trying it on, others with little explanation and others that are written extremely poorly. Take the time to explain your situation properly, be precise and concise, brief but comprehensive.

Tina Hadley did you migrate/transfer your applications over to your new Macintosh? If so this could cause problems with your serial number being recognized. Please run the available uninstallers located in Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder. Once this is done you will also want to run the CC Cleaner Tool. Unfortunately, you can't. There's no way around it. You'll have to get the ID and password used to originally activate the phone or you will not be able to activate it again. If you can't contact them, try to get your money back because you won't be able to use it.

You need to contact the carrier to see if they offer unlocking and if you qualify. You may need to talk to your brother about this.

Apple can't find it for you. You have to go to icloud.com on a computer and sign into the iCloud account that was used on the phone, then see if you can track it as described here: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mmfc0f2442. If you don't know the password for your iCloud account you won't be able to sign in to track it.
If it was stolen, contact the police and your carrier, and change your passwords.

You will need a valid billing address in the US and be in the US when you want to buy anything from it. You can try requesting that it be added to the South African, but ultimately it's the app's developer that will have to grant Apple a licence to sell it there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html

When I opened my App Store today, I found 6 apps needing update. I clicked “Update All” and there popped “Sign in to iTunes Store” and asked me to enter the Apple ID password for <my account>. I entered my password for the Apple ID but it said “Your Apple ID or password is incorrect.” Since I entered incorrect passwords many times, I had to reset my password two times already. I want to update the apps on my phone. But, I can’t , and this is tiring, exhausting, and frustrating. My questions: (1) Why is iTunes asking for a password for an old account when I changed that already? (2) What to do now - Do I sign out of iTunes, delete the account and create a new one?

We are fellow users here on these user-to-user forums, you're not talking to iTunes Support nor Apple - I've asked the hosts to remove your email addresses from your post (it's not a good idea to post personal info on any public forum).
Is the old account a completely different iTunes account, or is it just a previous primary email address on the same account ? If it's a different account then all content that you download from the store is tied to the account that downloaded it, so only that old account will be able to download updates to its apps.
If it's the same account, just a previous primary email address, then what id shows at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app on your phone ? You could try tapping on that and log out of it and then log back in with the updated version and see what id then shows for updates.
