I Tunes 8 crashes Vista 64 bit in sleep mode
I just bought a brand new Dell desktop with Vista 64 bit and installed the 64 bit version of I Tunes 8. The program opened, but I was not yet ready to migrate my files to the new PC so I closed the program and left for a while. When I returned and attempted to wake the computer from sleep mode, the monitor started displaying nothing but a pinstripe pattern and the system was frozen, requiring a hard reboot. A second occurrence convinced me to uninstall and do a system restore. Sleep mode then operated properly again. A new install of IT8 produced the same freeze. The program doesn't have to be open when the system goes into sleep mode to cause the crash. I have not even connected my dock to the PC yet. I have over 22,000 songs on my old PC and am very concerned about bringing them over. Is it possible to obtain a workable version of I Tunes 7 for 64 bit? Any help will be appreciated.
The problem turned out to be related to the ATI video card. Downloading the latest diver fixed it.

I bought a new iPhone and i installed latest itunes version(9.0.3) for 64bit Windows, in my laptop.
Operating system is Windows Vista 64 bit.. It installed successfully..But it never detects the iPhone..I called the technical support; they tried many options..reinstalled it..But it never detects the iPhone..finally they asked me to use system restore..and when i try it, it crashes my Operating system..I got Blue screen...Then it took around 4 hours for me to recover my operating system..!
I looked for forums and it seems iTunes is not at all successful in any versions for Vista 64 bit operating system...
This is the first product i got from apple, and unfortunately i have problems with it..
When will apple give a bug-free software that can be used with Vista-64 bit?
any idea??When I connect the iPhone, 'Autopay' dialogue box pops up..So it means, there are no issues with USB drivers..
During the reinstallation of iTunes, i got a error like, "Unbable to access key:ADF....".. The error was thrown 3 times..
The technical support person, unistalled all apple products in my laptop and reinstalled iTunes..But the reinstallation has some errors..And once again it does not detect the iPhone at all..
I tried intalling iTunes version 8..That also throws same 'Unbale to access key: ADF.." error, but the installation completed. Still the iPhone is not detected.. -
Satellite P200D-11R sound and graphics crash after waking up from sleep mode
Hi,
I am wondering if anyone here has had similar experiences to mine (below) or can offer any solutions.
I have upgraded my P200D-11R OS to Vista 64 Ultimate to take advantage of the extra performance. I also add that the BIOS has already been updated to version 1.4.
Well, everything works fine with the standard 2Gig of RAM which the laptop was supplied with originally, however, when I upgrade the RAM to 4Gig (2 x 2GB Samsung 667mHz modules), sound and graphics problems appear every time the machine is brought back from sleep mode.
The sound card makes a very laud fuzzy noise every time it wants to play a sound and the graphics produce lots of horizontal lines on the screen. I then just have to restart the machine which means loosing all my unsaved work.
Everything works fine as long as the machine does not enter sleep mode. I have currently disabled the sleep mode to prevent the machine from entering it but I am finding life very hard without it.
I am very surprised and also disappointed at the fact that Toshiba did not test these machines with Vista 64 Ultimate and 4Gig of RAM!
Extra info:
The memory is the same Samsung type as the 1Gig modules supplied by Toshiba originally with the machine, and the part number Toshiba recommends.
I have tried installing other (more recent) device drivers by Realtek and ATI without any improvements.
The memory modules pass all tests and are not defective. They have also been tested on my friends Dell notebook with no problems even in sleep mode.
I have installed my friends Dell 2Gig memory modules in my P200D and they too produce exactly the same results with post-sleep crashes.
My thoughts are that this must be another BIOS issue unless anyone can shed some light on the issue from another angle.
Please help! Many thanks in advance.Hi Sascha
Since you are running a Vista 32bit version, the upper limit of the memory recocnised by the machine is 3.2gb which is the maximum a 32bit operating system can address and use. The diffrence here is that I also upgraded my OS to Vista Ultimate 64bit to get yet better performance out of the 64bit dual AMD processor.
3.2gb of RAM on 32bit OS does not necessarily increase the performance. However, it keeps the performance stable when you open many more programs at the same time since the machine has more RAM to play with before staring to use the much slower hard drive as operating memory (Page File), to keep all thoes open programs running.
A 64bit OS such as Vista Ultimate 64, recognises the whole 4gb of RAM and much more (for instance, 8gb with 2 x 4gb RAM modules). The 64bit OS itself would generally consume more RAM to start with, however, with 4gb I found the general performance to be much better. Going back to the problem however, my P200D-11R with Ultimate 64 and 4gb RAM refuses to wake up from sleep mode gracefully and the graphics and sound crash every time, forcing me to restart.
My feelings at present is that eventhough your machine may be slightly different, I bet if you upgrade your OS to 64bit, the machine will start recognising all of the 4gb of RAM and post-sleep crashes will start to appear! -
Why does my MAC sometimes crash when coming out of sleep mode?
My mac freezea sometimes when coming out of sleep mode, and occasionally the screen will go black. At other times I will be using the MAC and it will just freeze. The only way to get out of it is to kill power and reboot. It seems to be happening more frequently.
It was suggested that I fix permissions and start in sleep mode. This has helped in the past, and I am going to do it again now. I also recently upgraded to 10.6.8, and after that the crashes were fewer, but now they are increasing again.
I am including a log of the recent crash a few minutes ago.

The only periphals I have are a kodak camera dock, a Canon 310 copier/fax/scanner and a pair of altec speakers. How do I determine if they all have drivers for my MAC? They all seem to work okay, if that is a sign, though the Kodak camera Dock is a bit slow. How also do I determine if they are Apple energy compatible? With each of these peripherals, do I simply disconnect them from my MAC one at a time to see if there improvement?

How to stop ManagedClient from crashing my MBP when in sleep mode?
Since upgrading my Early 2011 MBP to Mavericks (now 10.9.1) it has a tendency to crash while in sleep mode.
By "crash" I mean very loud fan activity - disturbing especially during night time.
Sometimes the crash is so serious that when I click the trackpad to re-activate the screen, all I get is a grey screen with a mouse pointer. All I can do is a hard restart using the power buttion.
At other times it lets me log-in again, and Activity Monitors shows multiple instances of a process called ManagedClient, around five of them, each of them using high amounts of CPU. Killing the ManagedClient processes brings the MBP back to normal operation.
I guess that "ManagedClient" has a function in company networks or in conjunction with a Mac server. In my network is neither a server nor other MBPs, so I don't understand what the use of ManagedClient would be for me.
I already used Disc Utility to repair permissions, repair disc, and repair partition map - no change.
Furthermore I did a complete re-install of Mavericks over the internet using the Recovery Mode, problem persists.
When I search Console for "ManagedClient" after a soft crash (a crash where I can still log-in an kill the ManagedClient instances), I get a lot of entries like this:

A665-s6065 crashes after coming out of sleep mode
I recently upgraded up to 8gb of RAM. Ever since I did this, when my computer comes out of sleep mode, it crashes within a matter of seconds. To get the 8gb of RAM to work in the first place, I had to update my BIOS. So I know that is not the issue.
Most likely, one of these is the culprit.

Boot into safe mode (restart holding down SHIFT key). If no KP, then uninstall all of them and reinstall them, one at a time.. If KP, then most likely hardware related. Run the Apple Hardware Test suite, extended tests at least twice, followed by Rember. See

Mac Pro Crashes Everytime Come back from Sleep Mode with Logic 8 Session on
Hi All,
I just got this new mac and have Logic Studio Setup on there along with VSL. I use Apogee Ensemble audio interface via firewire and have a Motif XS as my midi controller.
This morning I was in the middle of a session in Logic and then put the computer to sleep for an hour or so. I turned it back on and my 2nd monitor (right dual monitor) said I had to restart my computer. It was locked up. I restarted it and put it to sleep again after 20 minutes and came back 1.5 hours later and the same thing happened.
So, now I restarted it and it has not done it. Any ideas to what is the problem? Everytime i restart it says Mac OSX unexpectedly quit..
Please advise as this is a brand new computer and maybe I'm doing something wrong. Thanks.I have an Ensemble also. Most likely, the issue is with the Ensemble firewire driver. It doesn't support sleep mode.
In any case, I would suggest shutting Logic down and also turning off the Ensemble if you're going to put the computer to sleep. I know that's a bit of a hassle, but it will solve your problem. -

Finder crashes with External Drive on Sleep Mode
I purchased my new iMac 21,5" less than a week ago, and I haven't had a problem with it except for one that it's been bugging me a lot.
I have a LaCie 1TB Quadra d2 external drive that I use to store footage (since it's HD, the filesize won't fit in my 500TB internal hard drive), but I noticed that sometimes when LaCie external drive enters in Sleep Mode, the Finder freezes and the only two ways around this, is to force reboot, because the Finder won't answer and won't open again, or unplugging the external drive without ejecting him first, which it's not safe for me to do, because I'm afraid of hurting the device, and the files in it are pretty important.
This happens almost everytime, especially after a long time on sleep mode. I usually leave Final Cut Pro transferring files all night (since it takes a long time) so I kinda need the sleep mode, but when I wake up, Finder and Final Cut Pro won't answer.
I updated to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 on day one. Is there a way to fix this? Is it normal? I read somewhere that some users were having trouble with external drives on Sleep Mode, but I can't seem to find any further information about this problem.
Thanks!I've got a MacBook Pro 13.3" that's a little over a month old, with a LaCie 1TB LaCie d2 Quadra with USB 3.0, #301542U and I'm suffering the same problems and a few others with it. I've got a partition on it set up as my Time Machine backup drive. I've turned off the Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible in the Energy Saver preferences but I'm still having the sleep problem with it. According to the LaCie Manual:
By default, your drive will enter Eco Mode after 30 minutes of inactivity in order to conserve energy. To exit Eco Mode, simply access data on the drive and the disk will automatically restart. You can manage this feature using LaCie Desktop Manager. Click the Eco tab.
The LaCie Desktop Manager (in my case) only takes me to the Energy Saver Preferences in OS X to adjust the time there. Turning off Put the hard disk(s) to sleep when possible doesn't seem to make any difference, the drive still goes to sleep after 30 minutes. However, after 15 minutes the drive seems to wake back up, but then during the next 15 minutes goes comatose (no power light). Sometimes it will go through multiples of these sleep wake cycles without going into a coma, but eventually it does go into a coma. This happens in between hourly Time Machine backups.
After locking up Finder, Disk Utility and Time Machine multiple times trying to access the drive in this state I figured out that I could cycle the power switch to regain use of it (with a Finder warning of course) but this will only lead to file corruption eventually and I shouldn't have to resort to this. I've also dismounted it, expecting it to turn off and instead it goes into an extended spin down cycle (rapidly flashing light) and never turns off (or goes to sleep or what ever it's supposed to do) and once again requires turning the power switch off.
This is just too unpredictible and unrelable for me and as soon as I get the opportunity to do a 7 pass erase I'll be returning to the place of purchase. Based on the reviews of other external hard drives a drive from another company doesn't look to be much better of a prospect so I'm not sure what I'm going to do. -
Mac crashes after coming out of sleep mode
Hi,
Sorry - I'm not good with computers. Last time I posted this someone was really helpful. Does the below allow any further info on why my Mac comes out of sleep, then after a second reboots fully?

Boot into safe mode (restart holding down SHIFT key). If no KP, then uninstall all of them and reinstall them, one at a time.. If KP, then most likely hardware related. Run the Apple Hardware Test suite, extended tests at least twice, followed by Rember. See

My GX630 doesnt work properly on Windows Vista 64 bit
Hi,
I have problem with my GX630, its doest work properly at W Vista 64 bit, exactly Sleep mode ... its imposible to awake my computer nd I have to turn it off and than on to wake it up ...
those buttons Turbo nd Eco mode doesnt work.
sometimes happen that i get blue error screen and reset but I dont know why ... it wrotes something with some .dll file ...
some people told me that its error is caused by that thing that there are no drivers for 64 vista yet ...
I would be pleased if someone could help me up to this topic or to my email (removed to protect user privacy) or ICQ (115-378-414) thank to all of you Jabu"sometimes happen that i get blue error screen and reset but I dont know why ... it wrotes something with some .dll file ... "
What is the BSOD error code? What .dll ? Write down the exact error.
Do you OC your notebook?
"some people told me that its error is caused by that thing that there are no drivers for 64 vista yet ... "
Install Drivers from MSI web:
http://global.msi.eu/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=135&prod_no=1513
"those buttons Turbo nd Eco mode doesnt work."
You need SCM: http://global.msi.eu/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=utility&maincat_no=135&prod_no=1513
But x64 bit is N/A.
Why you use x64bit version anyway? Why not 32bit? -
What is causing my Mac to crash during the sleep mode?
Hello!
I would to have your help on this situation that i am having for a month or so... Ok... it started about a month ago, I turned it on and all of the sudden, it shut down, then rebooted on its own... (actually it rebooted like 3 or 4 times before running the system) I thought that it was odd. I had my Tech to look over and see what was causing to crash and all... he could not find anything then we all decided to leave it running all time... so we did. a week or two later, it just crashed when i woke the sleep mode and it went on the usual route as crashed and rebooted two or three times before going back to normal.
sound familiar to you guys? after that happened, we turned off the sleep mode and so far, it is doing good... decided not to update the system's Security software because it may have something to cause the mac to crash down...
the mac is 2 x 3 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon, 8 Gb 667 MHZ DDR2 FB-DIMM, running on 10.6.8
appreciate your help on this. One more thing.... it makes weird sounds as well... very high pitch sounds that you hear in movies where UFO flying by while it is doing the rebooting...

Having a problem with my G5 crashing when it awakens from sleep mode.
From the sleep mode the desk top appears as normal, on pressing any of the keys, desktop is replaced by a blue screen and nothing happens thereafter.
Any help gratefully received!Hi, macthedog. Welcome to the Discussions.
1. I suggest you begin troubleshooting using the procedure specified in my "Resolving Disk, Permission, and Cache Corruption" FAQ. Perform the steps therein in the order specified.
2. Run the Apple Hardware Test that came with the computer. See my "Apple Hardware Test" FAQ for comprehensive advice on using the Apple Hardware Test in troubleshooting, including running the test in Loop Mode.
3. What changes did you make to your Mac before this problem arose?
Good luck!
