I-tunes and Quicktime make a fatal error on Vista ?!

Hi i'm italian ... i don't write a good english but i try too explain my problem... i have a laptop HP pavilion dv6000 with windows vista... i 2 week ago buy a ipod touch 2g ... i try to install itunes ... i download it from apple.it. during the installation windows say me quicktime can be install. i don't remember the code. but i try again and the installation finish all correct. but yet when i open or connect my ipod on my pc... windows say itunes "a problem has been taken place that prevents the corrected operation of the program. if it is had a solution, it will come closed the program and envoy an automatic notification." and this message is the similar when i open quicktime! i try to install the old version of quicktime or itunes but it is similar! the version install on my pc is the 8.0.1 my pc is a 32 bit. PLEASE HELP MEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!! thank's and sorry for the bad english!!!

THe K Lite codec pack is a well know cause of QUicktime problems.
After you uninstall it, you maust reinsatll Quicktime as follows:
Then download the version of Quickime that does not include iTunes, this is not the default option:

Now Remove Quicktime using the method for Quicktime in this article (just Quicktime):

When you come to your C:\Windows\system32\ folder you can delete any file or folder with Quicktime in the name.
Restart you computer
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check if it starts.
If it does you are in a position to find out if iTunes is OK.

So, iTunes was running great a couple days ago and now all of a sudden everytime i try and run it it gives me this pop up that says " iTunes has encountered a probelm and needs to close. and asks me to send error report or dont send. I tried uninstalling iTunes and then reinstalling it...didnt work. I tried repairing... didnt work. I have no clue what else to to do and on top of it quick time is giving me this error 2095 crap. Help me befor I loose my mind.

According to Apple's knowledge database, it's most likely a hardware problem. Here's an article in spanish from Apple that might help you, it has some steps to try to restore and further identify your problem.

ETA: You're in the wrong section for iPhone issues, you might have more luck looking in the iPhone discussions, I believe they've discussed it before. Apparently it indicates water damage or other similar circuitry issues.

Itunes and Quicktime won't start, error

my itunes/Quicktime suddenly failed to open. I get a message saying iTunes needs to close. This happened after it would not close by itself one time. I've tried to remove programs from my pc then readd them but the same error keeps happening. Can anyone help me?

hmmmm. it's actually a bit unusual (in my experience) to see both of those error messages together like that. (the 1603 at the end of the chain is just sort of a "by-blow" of the previous problems, and if we fix those the 1603 should go away of its own accord.)
let's first try doing something that has worked in the past with both of those initial error messages.
first, download and install a copy of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility (we will be using it later on):

then we'll try to uninstall any existing QT on your PC. use the QT portion of the complete uninstall instructions given here:
Troubleshooting iTunes, iPod Software, and QuickTime installation on Windows
... if you run into trouble on the uninstall, use the Windows Installer CleanUp utility to remove any existing QuickTime installation registry entries, and then use the uninstall instructions as a guide to a manual QT uninstall.
but even if you don't run into trouble, run the utility anyway afterwards just to make sure we've cleaned out any leftover registry entries.
once the QT has been scraped out, we'll try the careful standalone QT 7.0.3 install again.

I got the same problem when trying out the tutorial, check MSDN library on this error, in the C++ source code, you should change all pointers refering to java to how MSDN tells you is microsoft standard, the tutorial c code, maybe works correctly with other compilers or older versions of VC++ compilers.

Pocket Tunes and Treo755p - keep getting an error when I try to sync

I just got a Treo755p and I have been trying to add music. I have Windows Vista on my notebook and I hot sync with BlueTooth and with the cable. (I have been using the USB cable when I have been trying to add music.) I downloaded updated Pocket Tunes - version 4.0.7 Bundle. I have music on my Windows Media Player - but when I try to sync with the Treo - I keep seeing the list with Error beside every song. There is no error code. What am I doing wrong?

I banged my head on the wall with the same problem for two days. Tried everything mentioned, and this worked, finally. The problem is that the backup files are not where you think they are.
You need to delete the MobilSync backup folder. I have a Mac. Went to /Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup and deleted the Backup folder.
Fixed the problem. Give it a try and good luck!

Quicktime Buffer Overrun Detected Error with Vista

I cannot play .MOV files successfully without the video pixellating and eventually stopping with a dialog box indicating a C++ Runtime Library message.
Is there a solution for this? Is this a known problem for which no solution exists yet? All the threads I've seen on this topic don't guide me to a solution.

okay, suspicion swings back to the nVidia componentry.
Some customers using computers containing NVIDIA nForce Serial ATA (SATA) controllers may experience unexpected behavior when playing videos in iTunes on Windows Vista from a SATA hard drive. iTunes may unexpectedly quit or become unresponsive or the computer may unexpectedly reboot or show a blue screen. Standard IDE hard disks are unaffected by this issue. If your computer contains a standard IDE hard disk, you can copy your video files to that disk and play those copies of the files in iTunes or QuickTime Player. NVIDIA is investigating the issue.
I went back to reread the iTunes technote. I do not understand why the people that own QT support don't reference this same piece of information since QT is the component clearly impacted. QT as a video player engine is used by both iTunes and Koday EasyShare.
Will just have to wait for nVidia I guess...

Itunes and Quicktime errors when installing

HELP! I tried installing the latest version of Itunes, but I keep receiving a variety of error messages. When I install the Itunes and Quicktime bundle, I get "Error Code: -3" and when I try to install the standalone Quicktime, I get a bunch of messages saying that a file cannot be found, then error message 1714, and then to consult the Windows Installer help (Msi.chm). I tried to manually remove the old Itunes and Quicktime, but it won't work. Any information on the topic would be greatly appreciated.

Photosmart d110 - fatal error on install AND unable to uninstall?

I purchased a d110 yesterday and receive a fatal error upon install (1935). I looked up the problem on HP support and one of the steps is to uninstall the software (how is there software there anyway when I get an error message that says it can't be installed?). I have tried EVERYTHING to do this - via the uninstaller in the Hp d110 folder, via the control panel, even a 3rd party cleanup tool. It is still there. I attempted the solution to the error 1935 code without bypassing that step and still get the fatal error. This is the most frustrating thing! Anyone been through this? Thanks!

The Fatal Error can be caused by quite a few different things. There is an article meant for troubleshooting a variety of them. I would suggest taking a look at it and reading through to figure out the most appropriate method for fixing your particular error.

CS4 Fatal error at Installation!!

i recently purchased the Design Premium student edition for windows and upon installing it,
i receive an installation error on the first cd due to Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, as i continue installation too the 2nd cd i receive a fatal error at installation due to the programs. It also states that i do not have an up to date service pack when i am running Windows vista business on Service pack 2!

Well after 3 weeks waiting for technical support to ring, they finally did and they told me to remove all files in 'temp files' folder, i also had to remove previous files in 'common files' folder such as Illustrator CS3 in my case and then make a new account on Vista that had administrator privledges and installed it through that account. I also stopped all running software, when in the installation i received the Service Pack notification that it wasn't the relevant pack but kept on going and ended up working fine!
If you cant do it yourself, and have an open case over Adobe site, then i suggest ringing the receptionist of local Adobe office and tell them that you've been waiting for weeks and want them to ring you ASAP (sound serious). Give them phone and case details and tech support should ring that day. It worked for me!

ITunes/Quicktime 7.3 upgrade error - can't uninstall previous version..?

While trying to install the new version of iTunes and Quicktime, I get an error while installing:
I checked the folder, and the iTunes.msi file is definitely there.
When I quit the installer, it said to try the Tools > Download Only option in the apple update software. I did it, and opened the iTunes.msi file, and got the same error.
I also tried uninstalling iTunes from Add/Remove Programs, but the same box in the picture above pops up.
Any suggestions?

With those ones try the following procedure:
first, head into your Add/Remove programs and uninstall your QuickTime. if it goes, good. if it doesn't, we'll just attend to it when we attend to itunes.
next, download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. use it to clear any existing itunes and/or QuickTime installation configuration information from the PC.
