I-tunes as soundtrack for Windows Moviemaker
I like to make short videos or slide shows and want to include music as a soundtrack. I use Windows Moviemaker but cannot figure out how to use I-tunes songs that I have purchased as a soundtrack for this purpose. Is it simply not allowed or is there a way to do it. I would even make a second purchase if I could get it to work. So far I have had to download MP3 songs for this purpose even though I already have a purchased I-tune song in my Playlist. Help appreciated.
For AAC songs purchased from the iTunes Store, you can make an MP3 version by following the procedure in this document: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1550

Where is the PC Tune-up guide for Windows 7?
Hardware ForumJust curious. Everything in the FAQ dropdown menu in the front page of this forum section are dated 5 or 6 old. I know that some of the info is still valid, but is any of that going to be updated? And is there a benchmarking site I can rely on for new builds? The PPBM site seems to have stopped operating.
Anyway, I was looking for that tune-up guide for PCs running Premiere. I can't find it anywhere.I don't know if what I have is "that tune-up guide" for Win7 but I do have a bunch of saved links

Troubles with Tunes (+ QuickTime) 6 for Windows
Impossible to update to, install or reinstall the latest version of iTunes (+ Quicktime).
I always receive the following error messages:
- with iTunesSetup, the InstallShield Wizard gives:
- when repairing => error -3
- when removing + reinstalling => error -3
and afterwards restarting iTunes => error - 2093
- with QuickTimeInstaller, the Installshield Wizard gives:
- when installing => error - 1603
So, I don't succeed to reinstall both programs iTunes and QuickTime and I have no longer access to my music.
Who can solve this problem. Wherefore thanks in advance.
EveEve, you win HANDS DOWN for the funkiest name that I have ever witnessed!!!!
I hope that I can come through for you after you blew me away with that moniker! Here is a post that I added two weeks ago. It includes a solution that worked for me. I hope that it works for you! Good luck.
Hey troubled Podheads,
I was one of the legion with problems in downloading iTunes6 and QT7 for Windows until I tried something (I must say that I am not a pc wizard and I don't know the technical reasons for why the following worked, it just did! So if there are any pc geeks out there, be sure to chime in). Anyway, this is what I did. First uninstall QuickTime if you do have it on your pc. If not, just go to the next step:
Go to START, then RUN. Type in regedit and then click OK. Your REGISTRY EDITOR should open. You should see HKEYLOCALMACHINE in the scroll down menu on the left, with a small box to its left. Make sure that the inside of the box has a negative sign - this will open up the next set of subfolders. Next, make sure that the subfolder, SOFTWARE, has a negative sign in the small box to its left. Next, make sure that there is a negative sign in the box next to the subfolder entitled, Apple Computer, Inc. You'll see at least three subfolders: iPod, iTunes and QuickTime. Click once on the QuickTime folder until it is highlighted and then delete it. You will be asked if you want to delete QuickTime and its subfolders. Click ok and then close out the Registry Editor.
Next, download the stand alone QuickTime 7 at this link (you may have to cut and paste this link to open this website):
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/standalone.html
When you download the stand alone QT7, you may get a couple of error messages (I did), but if you repeatedly click ok (like I did), the QT7 player should load with no problems.
Again, I am no pc geek, but this worked for me and I have gained access to iTunes6 (with video capacity) and my complete library is intact. Nothing like trial and error!! Good luck -- I hope this works for all of you frustrated Podheads out there! -

I recently downloaded i-tunes 7.0 and everytime I open i-tunes the program stops and comes up with "Windows has encountered a problem with this program and must close"

The big problem being that I have appx 29,000 traks on my i-tunes and I have spent the past 3 years formulating playlists ect.

hi,
I like to know wich register cleaner or tune up software is the best to use for windows vista- windows7- and windows 8.1.
I like to know the proffesional version of it which I can use for my clients every where unlimitted to clean unwanted keys of registry and improve performance.(specialy in Dutch language).
thanks
johan
h.davidI second what Kate Li said. There's no need for a registry cleaner! Don't do it! I run Windows systems for years and they keep running as light and fast as when they're new.
What I *do* recommend is regularly reviewing the list of programs set to run in the background using a tool to show you what starts in various ways called Autoruns, which can be found here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx
This tool can be used to disable things you don't need.

Hi
My problem is I cannot connect my I Phone or I Pad Mini with my I Tune on HP note book. It was automatically connected but didn't work since last month. I went to Apple Store for asking help. A Mr. told me that you didn't provide help for Windows Is that right? How can I connect, Sync, and update my information?Apple Stores won't directly support issues with your Windows PC, even if the issue is iTunes which you need to configure your iDevice.
For device connectivity issues see TS1538: iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows, in particular section 5, and TS4062: iTunes 10.5 and later: Troubleshooting iTunes Wi-Fi syncing.

I Tunes for Windows 7, Compatibility Issues
When I try to download I Tunes it states it has downloaded successfully. However, I have no sound when I am in this application. In addition, when I try to open I Tunes I get the message that it has been set to a previous version of Windows, and for best results I need to turn off compatibility mode before opening I Tunes. How do I do that? Can anyone tell me how I can download this program successfully? It has been very frustrating as it appears to not be compatibile with Windows 7.
However, I have no sound when I am in this application. In addition, when I try to open I Tunes I get the message that it has been set to a previous version of Windows, and for best results I need to turn off compatibility mode before opening I Tunes. How do I do that?
With that, let's first try the suggestions from the following document. *(Make sure that all of the boxes in the Compatibility tab are unchecked,* not just the compatibility mode setting itself.)
[iTunes for Windows: How to turn off Compatibility Mode|http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1489]
If you're still getting the compatibility mode message even though you have all the boxes unchecked in the Compatibility tab, you may have an errant setting in your registry. For Windows 7 troubleshooting advice on that possibility, see RandomBehavior's post in the following thread:

StevoHi Stevo,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your iPod touch is not recognized by iTunes for Windows, be sure to try all of the steps in this article:

Not from Apple. Some third party products exist that support Win98, but you will not be able to access the Music Store.

How about not using the I-Tunes for Windows MP3 encoder, and encoding with Lame ? Is this possible ? From where can I get the plug-in ? does it really work ? Pros and Cons ?
Thanks for the comments
ElvertThanks Joe for your help. I will check back. I would like to rip with I-Tunes for Windows and encode with the Lame plug-in ( it seems it is available only for Mac). I know EAC is excellent in Secure Mode, but it comes with Freedb (no composer tag info) and not CDDB/Gracenote that comes with I-Tunes and shows composer tag. The composer tag is of extreme importance to me when ripping my Jazz cds.
suse Lame, but not EAC. Eac uses freedb and not CDDB/GRacenote. I -
i want i tunes for windows xp 6d bit
Regards
Sunil.There is no version of iTunes that supports the 64-bit version of Windows XP and never will be. If you search this forum for "XP 64"or do a web search for something like "iTunes Windows XP 64", you'll find threads describing the process some people have used to "crowbar" iTunes onto XP 64, with varying levels of success, none of them complete.
