I Tunes compatability with Olympus dication machines

Does anyone have any experience of down loading from I Tunes into an Olympus DM 1 voice recorder? I have transferred a language audio CD into I tunes and now want to transfer onto my Olympus via a usb cable. The apple software on the Olympus web site doesn't seem to load into Tiger so I hoped to find an Apple solution
Ratnachuda

I am curious how you got DSS to work in Tiger I downloaded, apparently successfully. restarted the IBook and could open the application However I could get it to work either from the audio CD or the copy in ITunes Any thoughts?
When I looked at the programs controls, it looked like those for a tape machine. Although the DM-1 is a digital recorder, it looks like they are using "tape" terminology, including "Fast Forward" and "Rewind". It looked to me that it was supposed to work with and for the DM-1 so I didn't test it because I did not have a DM-1 to plug in.
Did you try plugging in the DM-1 and see if it played something you recorded on it?
I just tested it now with a wav file on my hard disk and it would not play it. I have no dss or wma files, so I can't test those formats.
I shall get a card reader to simplify the process of copying for the future.
Given that the player is only a player and not a general utility program, the reader does sound like the best option.

  • ATOS - Compatibility with non mac machines

Not sure if this is the right forum.
I am trying to find some information on whether ATOS (address to symbols) can be used on a non-Mac Unix machine like Sun Solaris (Sparc or X86) and Linux.
    Has anyone tried this?

Thanks for your quick response, Neil. I am aware it's created by Apple. I was hoping it will be usable on other Unix environments.
I am trying to set up a batch process to run ATOS on some crashes. I don't have an extra Mac handy. I may have access to some spare Sun Sparc machines. I was wondering if I copy the tool and required symbol files etc it will work.
The man page generally says ATOS is Mac OS X developer tool. I don't know the details of the low level ties with the operating system, but thought if we give it required symbols it might just work? Is it worth a try? Or you definitely know it's not going to work. In that case i don't want to waste time tracking down the Sparc machines.

  • A730 keyboard and mouse compatibility with other machines

I would like to have a USB keyboard mouse with the machine.  Unfortunately there is not an option for that with this machine.  I would like to sell the k/m that comes with the machine.
What machines including ones not made my Lenovo would the k/m be compatible with?
According to the Lenovo support page for the drivers for this k/m the drivers are compatable with various Lenovo machines.
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=DS031648
Does that mean the k/m are compatable with those machines?
Is a certain piece of hardware other than the k/b required for it to work?  If so, is that piece of hardware available after market?
Machine Type: M90z AIO ; Product: 3091CTO (Custom), CPU: i5-650, Video Card: Intel(R) HD Graphics, Memory: 4.00 GB,

Thank you Assaf for taking the time to install the game to check to see if you got a similar problem
honestly i'm not sure its my 865PE Neo2 LS or not,it may be a software issue. I'm just guessing because that was a the biggest change in my system before I started to experiance this problem.
I have experianced this problem with the default windows drivers as well as with logitechs current Mouseware drivers, although i have not tried to install older mouseware drivers
I've had lockups with CoreCell installed as well as removed. In DirectX 8.1 as well as DirectX 9
I thought perhaps it might have been my soundcard because prior to buying that I didnt have any problems...so I removed that...but i still got the same problem (although as i type this i realize i didnt uninstall the Audigy software before i tested....hhmmm. I'll have to test that)
I have noticed it happens more often in OSP/Quake3 (a competition mod) than in plain vanilla Quake3, but it does happen in both.
One intersting thing i discovered by trying out a Belkin KB with my set up was that when i hit a certain combination of keys it would exec a chat bind i had bound to a whole other key ?!?
    the combination was r + g + spacebar = keypad home
That particular problem stopped once I went back to original Keyboard. It did stick in my mind however that when playing Q3 i am hitting combinations of keys all the time and that maybe I'm hitting a combination that is problematic for my system. I have not been able to figure out what that combintion is yet (I tried for quite a while ...but was unable to find the correct combination to reproduce the problem )

  • Can I-Tunes cope with multiple I-Pods?

Hi. I want to purchase another I-Pod (5G) but am concerned that if I do, the version of I-Tunes I have on my PC will be shared with the (2G) older version I have. My main worry is that if the I-Tunes works with the 2G machine today, will it work for the 5G machine?
Also, assuming that they can work together, how are the same music files be shared across two versions of i-tunes?

Just my personal testimony. In my household, we have five different iPod products (two 6GB minis, two 4GB nanos, one 15 GB really old i-pod) that we load/unload, etc. using one iTunes installation. One caveat--our library has well over 30,000 songs--so all of our iPods are set to manually update. We create new playlists and then install them on the various music players. All of the users have different tastes and music preferences, but it seems to work well. [Oh, by the way--I'm the only one updating the iPods. I make the playlists (based upon user preference) and then update the iPods. From experience, I've learned that you do have to know what you're doing to make sure this works correctly.]

  • I want to upgrade to Lightroom 5, but I'm concerned about compatibility with my 2008 intel Core 2 Duo iMac with only 4G of Ram.  Will I be able to run Lighroom 5 if I upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion?

I want to upgrade to Lightroom 5, but I'm concerned about compatibility with my 2008 intel Core 2 Duo iMac with only 4G of Ram.  Will I be able to run Lightroom 5 okay if I upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion?  What will happen to the applications that aren't 64-bit compatible?  Also the Eye-one Display 2 colorimeter to calibrate the monitor will not run on Lion, so that will be an expensive upgrade to an i1DisplayPro. Is the upgrade important enough to offset the expense?  I have an Epson R2000 printer.  Will there be problems with the drivers if I upgrade to Lion?  It would be great to hear from other mac users who are also photographers and who print their own photos.

Before upgrading to Lion be sure to read this link:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6271
    Adobe lists these requirements:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom/tech-specs.html
Looking at http://www.everymac.com/ even the earliest 2008 iMac was fully 64 bit, even though Boot Camp doesn't support 64 bit Windows on that machine.

  • SQL Server Express compatibility with Windows 8.1 - Which version(s) are compatible?

We have purchased a new computer that has Win 8.1 Pro. We are migrating an application from a Win 7 Pro machine we are currently successfully using (the vendor migrates it for us) and they have said that the application will require the installation of SQL
Server 2008 Express (which we do have on our Win 7 machine).
In looking at the requirements for SQL Server 2008 Express (on the download page for it), it does not mention it being compatible with Win 8.1
In addition, Installation Instructions  says that it requires:
     Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 SP1
     Windows Installer 4.5.
     Windows PowerShell 1.0
I see that 3.5 is already listed as a program feature of Win8.1 and I've enabled it. Do I need to install SP1? I downloaded it, and launched it, and nothing happened.
I also looked at the Windows Installer 4.5 download page, and it's not clear if that is compatible with 8.1. Do I need to download and install it?
Power Shell 2.0 is already installed. I assume that will be backwards compatible with PowerShell 1.0; is that correct?
I saw another question about SQL Server Express Compatibility with Win 8.1 (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/038ec00e-4fc1-41ba-9fdc-21c022aad67e/action?threadDisplayName=sql-server-express-compatibility-with-windows-81) and the response
said that SQL Server Express 2012 will work, but the link contained in the answer led to a page for SQL Server Express 2014.
My vendor has told me that SQL SERver Express 2012 will be backwards compatible with their product. But they said that I would first have to install 2008 first. Is that correct for Win 8.1?
    So, the ultimate questions are:
    1. What is the link for Sql Server 2012 Express for Win 8.1?
    2. Will the SQL Server 2012 Express download require prior install of the 2008 version
    3. What other component requirements are required for SQL Server 2012 Express, and how can I determine if they have already been installed. (This is a brand new computer with a clean Win8.1 Install).
    4. Finally, can we use the 2014 version of SQL Server Express for Win 8.1? If so, questions 1, 2 and 3 apply, too.
Thanks for your help on this!! HIGH ANXIETY.

    Hello,
The following article provides which updates are required to make SQL Server versions compatible with Windows 8 or 8.1:

  • Hyper-V Live Migration Compatibility with Hyper-V Replica/Hyper-V Recovery Manager

    Hi,
Is Hyper-V Live Migration compatible with Hyper-V Replica/Hyper-V Recovery
    Manager?
I have 2 Hyper-V clusters in my datacenter - both using CSVs on Fibre Channel arrays. These clusters where created and are managed using the same "System Center 2012 R2 VMM" installation. My goal it to eventually move one of these clusters to a remote
DR site. Both sites are connected/will be connected to each other through dark fibre.
I manually configured Hyper-V Replica in the Fail Over Cluster Manager on both clusters and started replicating some VMs using Hyper-V
    Replica.
Now every time I attempt to use SCVMM to do a Live Migration of a VM that is protected using Hyper-V Replica to
another host within the same cluster,
the Migration VM Wizard gives me the following "Rating Explanation" error:
"The virtual machine virtual machine name which
requires Hyper-V Recovery Manager protection is going to be moved using the type "Live". This could break the recovery protection status of the virtual machine.
When I ignore the error and do the Live Migration anyway, the Live migration completes successfully with the info above. There doesn't seem to be any impact on the VM or it's replication.
When a Host Shuts-down or is put into maintenance, the VM Migrates successfully, again, with no noticeable impact on users or replication.
When I stop replication of the VM, the error goes away.
Initially, I thought this error was because I attempted to manually configure
the replication between both clusters using Hyper-V Replica in Failover Cluster Manager (instead of using Hyper-V Recovery Manager).
However, even after configuring and using Hyper-V Recovery Manager, I still get the same error. This error does not seem to have any impact on the high-availability of
my VM or on Replication of this VM. Live migrations still occur successfully and replication seems to carry on without any issues.
However, it now has me concern that Live Migration may one day occur and break replication of my VMs between both clusters.
I have searched, and searched and searched, and I cannot find any mention in official or un-official Microsoft channels, on the compatibility of these two features.
I know vMware vSphere replication and vMotion are compatible with each otherhttp://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-55/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.vmware.vsphere.replication_admin.doc%2FGUID-8006BF58-6FA8-4F02-AFB9-A6AC5CD73021.html.
Please confirm to me: Are Hyper-V Live Migration and Hyper-V Replica compatible
    with each other?
If they are, any link to further documentation on configuring these services so that they work in a fully supported manner will be highly appreciated.
    D

This can be considered as a minor GUI bug.
Let me explain. Live Migration and Hyper-V Replica is supported on both Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2 Hyper-V.
This is because we have the Hyper-V Replica Broker Role (in a cluster) that is able to detect, receive and keep track of the VMs and the synchronizations. The configuration related to VMs enabled with replications follows the VMs itself.
If you try to live migrate a VM within Failover Cluster Manager, you will not get any message at all. But VMM will (as you can see), give you an
error but it should rather be an informative message instead.
Intelligent placement (in VMM) is responsible for putting everything in your environment together to give you tips about where the VM best possible can run, and that is why we are seeing this message here.
I have personally reported this as a bug. I will check on this one and get back to this thread.
Update: just spoke to one of the PMs of HRM and they can confirm that live migration is supported - and should work in this context.
Please see this thread as well: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsazure/en-US/29163570-22a6-4da4-b309-21878aeb8ff8/hyperv-live-migration-compatibility-with-hyperv-replicahyperv-recovery-manager?forum=hypervrecovmgr

  • Windows 8 and I tunes compatibility ?

Does I tunes work with the new windows 8 that was just released?

iTunes in Windows 8 Consumer Preview does work. If you experience any abnormal lag or behavior, you'll just need to enable compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 3) and administrator privileges for iTunes.exe.
Default installation locations, where you'll find "iTunes.exe":
    32bit - C:\Program Files\iTunes
    64bit - C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes

  • Premier pro 5.5 not compatable with windows 7 64 bit

I have recently spent over 3.5 hours on the phone live only to be told they can't fix the problem of Premier pro shutting down in Windows 7 64bit every time I try to open it.
I was told to install Pro 4.  I have pro 4 and that is why I bought 5.5  Now I can't get pro 4 to work either it also is shutting down.  Has anyone had the problem.  I believe Adobe has left me hanging after spending 495.

I was finally luckey enough to get a tech on the phone.  To get the tech I had to call sales and explain what was happening , that the 800-833 6687 would get me to choice 2 for tech help and then hang  up.  This happened yesterday 10-28-2011 roughly 18 times.  The sales person was kind enough to stay on the phone and verify what I was saying and go through the connections and get me to a tech who knew what he was doing and take the time to do it.  It took roughly 1hour and 30 minutes to determine that the video card was the problem.  The adobe site lists my card and compatable with the suite.  I took the machine to Best Buy tech
and tried to show him the problem and the system worked.  I recreated the scene at home and found the difference was that BB was using only one monitor.  Premier Pro 5.5 is the only part of the suite that will not work with dual monitors.  For 3 days I have spent countless hours and exausted patience only to solve the problem myself.  So much for Adobe tech help.

  • SATA11 is it compatable with all controller cards

I want to add 500gb HD's to my G4 Giga and know I need a SATA controller card, I am considering this one card pic is this card compatable with SATA11 hard drives?
    Powermac G4 Giga-ethernet Dual 1.2ghz 100bus 2 Gig Ram 2xHD 80gb+120gb USB1+2/FW   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   wireless network

Thanks Japamac, can I go through this deadhead style...
You can install as many OS's as you want. When you
set your Startup Disk Preferences, you are able to
select the OS that you want, as well as the disk that
    you want.
Does this mean I have to make a partion thing on the same disk for each (even the same) OS?
Do I use the original install disks to do this?
Another way to select startup disk/OS, is to boot
while holding the Option key. This will open the
Startup Manager, and allow you to select which and
where you want to boot from.
This is the screen I remember from my Apple Care Plan Help Desk days
It is a good idea to have a second (and third)
    bootable disk in your system.
Is the third disk on a partion thing ( I have researched this and have found, using "disk utility" I can make "partitions", if I understand correctly, my machine will "see" a partition as a separate disk, am I miles off?
    That way, heaven
forbid, should one disk have trouble booting, you can
use the Startup Manager to select an alternate disk,
and then diagnose and repair the ailing disk from
    there.
Do I use "disk utility" from another partition disk to do this?
This is, actually, a very important thing to
have in your system. by all means, install the OS on
    the other disk.
A partition on the 120gb, how big should the partition be?
Remember, to keep both disks backed up. So, don't
give up on your external drives all together. They
    are VERY useful.
This is where you are going to hate me... I dont have any externals or back ups.... this is why I am trying to work out what to do... I back up my photo's to DVD when I have enough, its not good practice because it can take a months worth before I have time to physically go through all the work to decide what I will archive to DVD, I would love for all of the work to automatically copy itself to a safe place.
While we are on the subject, a very good way to
backup, is to use Super Duper. This is a clone
utility. SD will copy bit for bit, your drive, and
then make that backup bootable. This is a very nice
feature. Also, after that, you can use the Smart
Update feature, which updates any changes of a volume
to it's clone. This way, you always have an exact
copy of your system and data. Invaluable!
This is obviously what I need... I will download it and try to understand its functions
I like OWC, myself. Even with shipping and tariffs to
Japan, it is most often cheaper to do so. Also, the
company is very reputable, has great service (try
their live chat) and stands behind what they sell.
OWC also has lots of install tutorial video (and
PDF's) in their support section. Check it
    out.
I have trusted OWC since you recommended them for my processor upgrade and have just ordered the SATA controller from them and am going to get a 500gb internal HD for now until I can learn to rationalise my disk space... at the moment my files are just copies of themselves on the same disk (120gb)
Hey Japamac... I have to say thank you to you sir, you have obviously put a lot of time and effort into your reply and I really do appreciate it...

How much of a hurry are you in, and are you considering upgrading to Lion?
File Vault on Snow Leopard only encrypts home folders you select, and doesn't work well with Time Machine.
But Lion will have "full disk encryption" of local or external disks.  See File Vault 2 here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/whats-new/features.html

I have a problem while connecting from Oracle Forms/Reports 10g to Oracle Database10g Express Edition.I have configured through the net configuration assistant and it shows the test is also successful. But while connecting from Oracle Forms/Reports 10g, an error is being displayed saying that the TNS could not resolve service name(ORA - 012154). I am able to connect to my database server normally. I got a doubt now regarding Oracle Database10g Express Edition's compatibility with Oracle Developer Suite 10g. Can I use Oracle Database10g Express Edition as backend for Forms/Reports 10g in a stand alone machine.
Can anyone please give me a solution regarding my issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    RAKESH

12154 means that the TNSNAMES.ora that reports is using does not understand what the '@XE' means.
Check that you do not have several different TNSNAMES.ora files - there are probably several, and the one you are using probably does not point to XE. This is the most common cause I've seen.

  • Is Robohelp 5x compatable with Windows 7

Is Robohelp 5x compatable with Windows 7 - what will happen if I upgrade to Windows 7

    Hiya
It is my understanding that Windows 7 Home Premium does not offer the ability to right-click an application shortcut and choose XP Compatibility mode within the shortcut properties as seen here:
I believe that in order to see that tab, you must upgrade to Professional or Ultimate. That's why I chose to upgrade to Ultimate initially after obtaining the new PC.
Having said that, there is another feature that is a free download from Microsoft for users of Professional or Ultimate. That's the Windows Virtual machine. You may find that even though you choose Compatibility mode in the shortcut properties, it still doesn't allow your software to work properly. So you download and install the Windows Virtual Machine, then you download and install the Windows XP Mode. What this does is creates a virtual environment of Windows XP that opens and runs inside your Windows 7. Then you install the software into the environment and it should work.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Is Time Machine dealing with Fusion virtual machines differently now?

I have discovered and others have noted that TM backs up Fusion VMs as a single file. For me, this has been roughly 32GB a pop, chewing up my 500GB TM target volume breathtakingly quickly. Suddenly, however, changes within the VM are requiring only about 7.6GB per TM back-up, roughly one-quarter of the previous amount. Does anyone know what's going on here? I downloaded the usual monthly bushel of Windows automatic updates (security, stability, enhancements, etc.) yesterday for my Vista Ultimate guest VM; could these somehow have made the TM process for a Fusion VM more efficient? This seems too good to be true!

    All --
The most knowlegeable VMware employee at the Fusion booth at Macworld (two other VMware employees there did not know) told me definitively that Fusion virtual machines are no longer being backed up by Time Machine.
On December 23rd, in another thread, Kimo said (see also Peggy Lynn's posts, above):
"At this link you'll find the Fusion 1.1 release notes http://www.vmware.com/support/fusion/doc/releasenotes_fusion.html
"Fusion 1.1 was the upgrade that Vmware provided at the end of november.
As you can see they don't mention any issue with Time Machine.
But searching around I've found the Fusion 1.1. RC1 release notes at this link
    http://www.vmware.com/beta/fusion/releasenotes_fusion.html
"In this document you can find this section:
"-Leopard's Time Machine feature causes VMware Fusion 1.1 RC1 to hang.
In Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard), the Time Machine feature interferes with the Virtual Machines directory, causing VMware Fusion to hang when you launch it.
Workaround: Configure Time Machine to exclude the Virtual Machines folder.
This problem is planned to be fixed for the upcoming VMware Fusion 1.1 GA release. Virtual machines will be excluded from Time Machine backups...
    "...and they did it!
"They should announce it, in the right way, with the final 1.1. release notes. I can confirm, now, that my first 2 backups (of my vmware files) were done before the fusion 1.1 upgrade.
The day I've installed the upgrade backups have been stopped.
"I'm not glad for this, It should be a decision of mine..."
I completely agree with Kimo. I have reviewed the 1.1 GA release notes, again, and can find no mention of Time Machine. Someone new to Fusion who trialed or purchased Fusion 1.1 GA would not be able to tell from a read of the Release Notes that her/his VM was excluded from TM backup. VMware indicated to me that they made this move, in cooperation with Apple, because the problem outlined above would occur if TM ran when a Fusion VM was active.
I have been waiting for Dave Nanian to e-v-e-n-t-u-a-l-l-y update SuperDuper! to an exalted state of Leopard compatibility and, frankly, have in the interim been doing less frequent clone backups with CCC. As a consequence, I have been less protected (with respect to my data in the Vista VM) than I thought I was.
Let me state the obvious: because, for many of us, the data in our VMs is precious, it is irresponsible for VMware to make a unilateral and fundamental change in a backup modality that is, after all, part of OSX, without giving the user a choice (the bug doesn't manifest itself if the VM isn't active; I just shut mine down to do periodic TM backups without mishap) and (ii) proactive notification of registered users -- they have the email addresses! That Apple was apparently a part of this is quite disappointing as well.
More of the obvious: if you are a Fusion user, you should -- for sure -- rely on a backup approach other than TM to protect your VM data.
    Regards.
