I-Tunes does't play songs anymore
My i-Tunes does not play songs anymore. I checked preferences (advanced). Location where to look for the songs on the harddisc is ok. He changes this when you disconnect harddisc, but that is ok. I tried everything but no luck.
Hop you can help.
When i click on the song in map, not itunes, he plays correctly, so it is there.

If the graphics are there, maybe the phone thinks it has the music too. If you have all your music on iTunes then try un-selecting all your music from the sync - then sync your phone. You should end up with NO music on your phone then. Now re-select your music and sync again. Hopefully that might sort it out.

My 4G Ipod shuffle does not play songs in the correct order? Already restored to factory settings and no success.. Can anybody help me?
I FINALLY GOT IT! after months of relentless synching/autofilling problems on my 4th generation i figured out the solution.
this is what i did: plugged in ipod on off mode~>manually deleting my ipod's songs~>restored factory settings~>unchecked automatic synch~>made a new playlist with exactly the songs & order i wanted for my ipod (just dragged old playlists into the new one)~>then autofilled that new playlist into my ipod. came out like a charm! (before u autofill UNCHECK random add songs)
my ipod always ended up autofilling/synching my customized playlists wrong or it would automatically do my music library (and that was way unorganized), so this worked. -
ITunes 7.7.1 won't play songs anymore.
Hi, I recently upgraded to iTunes version 7.7.1, and since the upgrade, iTunes
won't play songs anymore. If I select on a song in my library, the diamond stays
at the 0:00 mark. I have tried re-installing iTunes, with no luck. I am running
the software on a Mac Book Pro with the latest version of OS X (10.5.4).
thank you.Just start with a standard procedure: Run Disk Utility and fix permissions/repair disk

My itunes does not play anything anymore
Itunes won't play anything anymore, wether it is in the cloud, from the store or even from my computer. It shows the song in the window but no sound and the timer does not move from 0:00
Hello KarolineSG,
Thank you for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
It seems like iTunes on your Mac is not playing songs at all, and the play counter is stuck at 0:00.
You can find some troubleshooting tips for this situation in the following article:
iTunes 11 for Mac: If you have trouble playing music or other audio
Most of the steps in this article can help with both iTunes 11 and 12.
All the best,

After upgrading iTunes on my laptop to version 10.5.1, my player will NOT play any songs. My Library seems intact and no songs appear to be missing, but no song will play --not a song downloaded from iTunes Store, nor a song downloaded from a CD. I was hoping version 10.5.2 would fix this, but apparently not. Still not working. Songs do play on my iPod and on my iPhone and I can transfer songs from my laptop to my devices; I can also download Apps to my laptop through the iTunes Store, etc.--all other functions of iTunes seem to be okay, only the player is not working. (My laptop is an hp Probook with Intel i5 chip, Windows 7 Pro OS.)
Does it look like the song is playing at the top of iTunes? Can you see the timer moving?
Also, make sure the volume slider isn't all the way to the left (mute).

Ipod does not play music. Instead of playing the song, it just lists the title (like when a song is playing) and then moves to the next song without playing the song. It's as if it automatically forwards to the next song (song titles displays for every second). And this occurs in shuffle mode, and/or selecting a playlist. Need help! Ipod was purchased in this site on May 27,2006.

Ariel

IPod touch does not play songs in 2012 BMW iDrive
My iPod touch cannot play songs in BMW iDrive. It is recognized as Auxillary Front, and is not recognized as USB connection via Y-cable. The song stops playing after 5-10 seconds. However, my iPad and friend's iPod Nano works. Any idea?
What model iPod and iOS do you have?
When it plays with the iPod are y using the same connection?
Does BMW's site say that it works with your model iPod and iOS?
have you tried resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. -
6th gen iPod Nano does not play songs
Today, for no apparent reason, my 6th gen iPod Nano has stopped playing songs. When I select a song, the Play button changes to a Pause button, just as it normally would if the song was playing, but the track does not play, and no time elapses on the song progress bar - it just remains at 0:00. If I fast forward through the song, the song progress bar remains at whatever time I advance it to. I've pressed Play/Pause repeatedly to try and get the songs to play, but nothing happens other than the Play/Pause icon toggling back and forth between playing and paused.
This happens when I try to play any song or podcast on the iPod. It was able to play every song as recently as yesterday. All of these songs and podcasts play just fine on iTunes and on any other iPod, iPhone or iPad that I sync them to.
I have restarted the Nano several times. I've also done a complete restore of the Nano from scratch. I've got the latest version of iTunes, and all of the other functionality works just fine on the Nano.
Any thoughts?Problem appears to be solved, thanks to the downtown Portland Apple Store Genius Bar. Apparently there was some sort of conflict with the permissions for the music (even though I own all of it, and all of the media played just fine on all of my other iOS devices).
To fix it, I went to the iTunes "Store" menu, chose "Deauthorize this computer" and followed the prompts. I then quit iTunes, restarted iTunes and double-clicked a TV show that I had purchased. This prompted me to re-authorize my computer, which I did.
I then synced a couple of songs, and they played just fine. I restored the rest of my playlists, and I'm happy to say that everything is behaving a-ok now. Phew! -
ITunes 11.1.5.5 on my Windows 7 PC does not play songs

Hello Raag Thaal,
I would be concerned too if my music didn't playback in iTunes. I found an article that specifically addresses issues with the music not playing and the playhead not progressing in iTunes. I recommend following the steps in the article below:

Nano won't play songs anymore - cover flow shuffle shows no artwork
All of a sudden, my ipod nano 3g will no longer play songs via cover flow. The artwork is gone even though it is there in iTunes on my computer. If I click an album to play it, it briefly selects that album (with the missing artwork still) as if it is going to play it, but then it just goes back to the cover flow shuffle and never plays anything. I just had iTunes erase everything on it and resync, but that made no difference.
I tried playing songs through the play list instead of the cover flow and still it just acts like it is going to play the song and then gives up and returns to the previous menu. So basically, I cannot play any songs on this nano, which is only a few months old. Help!? Thanks!
Message was edited by: lowcountrybirdOk, I've fixed it. I read a few other posts about resetting it. I held the Select and Menu buttons down at the same time (this works better if you place the nano on a flat surface first) for several seconds. Then the Apple logo appears while the nano is being reset. After that, cover art work appears and more importantly the songs play. Whew. That was scary.

I'm having a simialr problem except that itunes will work for awhile and then stops working. I click on a track in my library and the play pause icon toggles, but the track does not begin to play. I can drag the diamond on the progress bar or use the fast forward / rewind controls and the daimond responds, but the track will not play. Happens regardless of the source I select. Shutting down itunes and re-starting itunes does not solve the problem. I have to re-boot to get ti going again. -
Sometimes itunes does not play songs
From time to time my itunes stops playing: When I select
a song in my library or a song in the itunes store, the song
is displayed at the top, but itunes does not start playing.
Additionally, it won't play any other song.
When I close the itunes software (hitting [x] at the top
of the window), I cannot restart itunes until I end
the still living process itunes.exe in the task manager.
When I restart itunes afterwards, the same songs in the
library (or in the itunes store) play properly.
I use itunes 7.2.0.34, but the problem also existed
with earlier versions (I think they startet with 7.x)
and still persists.
I followed the hints in http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93610,
no change.
Does anybody experience similar problems?
This is really frustrating!
Thanks,
Mario
Windows XP ProJust as an update, someone suggested reinstalling iTunes to fix the problem. I don't know if you loose the songs in your library but I asked the kind person that answered my question.

IPod does not play songs in order - iPod Shuffle 1GB
When I drag songs to the iPod it adds them to the end of the list and then I sort by song name. When I play them on the iPod they are played at the end. When I hook up the iPod they are listed in the right order but that's not how they are played.
Does anyone know why this is happening and how to get around it?
Thanks in advance. You might want to post in ipod shuffle forum.
