I-tunes folder doesn't appear

I am trying to move files from old computer to the new one, and the problem is that when I get to the step where I open the i-pod in my browser, there IS no i-tunes folder. Calendars are there, and notes are there, and contacts... But no i-tunes. What's UP WITH THAT?!??!??! I don't get it. The i-pod works totally normally, I have no problem saving music TO it, I just can't seem to get music off of it onto a new computer, and I don't understand why. Help!! =]

You can transfer music from mac to mac via network between both or by the target disk mode(easier).
Target Disk: trun of both macs connect firewire cable trun on mac with music on it while starting up hold down the 'T' button. Then start up the other mac normally. On the screen of the mac you started up in target mode there should be a firewire icon on the other mac you will see an icon on your desktop with the same firewire icon on it. Click on this icon and find the folder with your music then just drag and drop it any where you want it on your mac

  • Photo in folder doesn't appear in import dialogue

    Hi there,
I have LR 3.6 and have created a catalog of pictures from a ski trip I took last year.  All of these pictures and the LR catalog are in one folder on my hard drive.  After sorting, deleting and retouching quite a few pictures I now notice that one picture is missing from the library.  If I open the folder in Explorer (Win 7) I can see the picture, and Windows Picture & Fax Viewer will open/display this picture so it appears the file itself is fine.
However, I cannot get this picture into the library for some reason.  When I choose File>Import Photos this one picture doesn't show up in the list of photos.  It's as if Lightroom can't see this picture for some reason.
    Any suggestions?
Oh, and I don't know if it matters, but there is a movie clip with the same filename but a different extension (obviously) that does show up in the library and the import dialogue.  The picture filename is DSC_0001.jpg, the movie filename is DSC_0001.mov.
    thanks for any help!

Having a movie file with the same sounds like it might be your problem. Try renaming (within Lightroom) the movie file. Then try to re-import the photo. Or you could do it the other way and rename the image file.

  • Backup in folder doesn't appear in iTunes

I'm trying to recover some old data from my phone and I thought it might be on one of my old backups. I put my phone into recovery mode and then I searched in the "~library/application support/mobilesync/backup" folder and I was able to find some of my old backups and I think the data I need could be in one of these. The only problem is my itunes doesn't have any of these old backups listed. I looked under Devices as well and I still can't find it. I'm trying to figure out a way to move this old folder so that it appears in my Device Backups list. It's not too old either just from about 2 months ago.

I need help on this question.

  • An existing folder doesn't appear in the library

I don't see an existing folder in my library.  I try to import photos into lightroom, but it indicates that they are already imported and they supposedly exist in a particular folder.  However, that folder is not showing in my library.  Is there a way to correct this?  The photo is there but they only way I can see it is to search for it and it will appear.

I don't mean to butt in (DJ Paige is quite competent..), but it's starting to sound to me like your catalog is a-wonk (a tad fouled up..).
You didn't rename the folder outside Lr and change (just the) case, did you? - that can confuse the bee-geebers out of Lightroom (catalog is case-sensitive, sorta/mostly, but disk is not, at all).
I mean, you can always try deleting preferences (.agprefs file in with presets) and see if it helps, but if not, I dunno - maybe somebody else will be more help.
How far back do you have to go for a backup catalog which isn't so wonked?

My main concern is that it may happen to one of my larger folders with many photos.
    Has it ever happened before?

I should mention that I am using LR 3.6.
Another thing to try: try upgrading the catalog using Lr5 and see if you still have the problem. Might even be a good excuse for an Lr upgrade .
    Cheers, and good luck,

Mavericks doesn't appear in application folder, how can I get it there?
It is downloaded. I can see it in Launchpad, when I click on it will open en start the installation, but that's not what I want, I want to have the program in the application folder. I hope someone knows how?

Click the installer in Launchbar so it opens, don't proceed with the installation!
Look in your Dock for the installers Application icon.
Command+Click this icon in the Dock
A Finder window should appear with the installer selected, you can 'Get Info' on that item to see the full file path to work out where it is, or enable the 'Path bar' in Finder's view menu, that also shows the folder path to the selected item.
If you are hoping to install 10.9 on another Mac you may find it is best to create a bootable installer on a USB disk…

    Or use Apple's instructions…

The QT X v10.1 app installs in your "Applications folder and QT 7 v7.6.6 (whether keyed for "Pro" use or not) is installed in the "Applications/Utilities" folder. It is recommended you keep them in these locations so they will continue to update correctly/automatically.

Which operating system are you running on?
How are you trying to open the photos?
    - from windows explorer? - double licking or right clicking and selecting Open with?
    - by loading the editor and go to File -> Open?
Looking back at your other threads you seem to have had this problem before - what keeps changing?

And, what do I do if one of the harddisks on my Mini (2010, SL Server) starts misbehaving?

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?
Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps and allows to delete the Firefox program folder.

  • Podcasts doesn't appear in Podcast Folder

I subscribe some podcast. Missing some episode I downloaded them manually. How to make them appear in PODCASTS Folder and not in MUSIC Folder  (iTunes 10.6.1/Lion 10.7.3)?

As far as I'm concerned, this is the only thing which could potentially turn me off to iStuff.
I've downloaded both an audio podcast and a video podcast.
Audio works fine but the "album artwork" doesn't appear in either iTunes on my desktop or on my iPhone.
The video podcast goes through the whole show of downloading and it even says "done." When I go to "Library>Podcasts" it shows that I've subscribed to the video podcast but but a double-click on the icon brings up a list of episodes, NONE of which are downloaded (even though it had just gone through the 5-10 minute download show).
Second only to the frustration of not being able to download any podcast simply and easily is the frustration at not being able to fin dthe answer on "Apple Support Community."
This is the kind of thing that turns me off to products; esp. electronics (spending hours trouble-shooting it yourself and then spending hours reading threads which don't quite fit your specific problem).

  • I click add folder but it doesn't appear in Itunes

So I go to file add folder to library,
    Choose the file
    Hit OK
and it doesn't appear in iTunes...
    can any one help

It will be recognised as a camera if you have photos on that were taken with it, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc i.e. it is how you can copy them to your computer - but that shouldn't stop it appearing in iTunes.
Try turning the camera notification off disconnect and re-connect your iPad and see if it then appears in iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1500
If that doesn't work then there is iPad/PC/iTunes troubleshooting in this page which might help http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538

  • Album artwork doesn't appear in itunes

I am really stuck. The album artwork doesn't appear when I am downloading my cds onto Itunes. I am on broadband so the album details download but no artwork.
I have read all the articles and I am using itunes 4.9, I have the preferences 'download album artwork' checked and still it doesn't appear in the bottom left hand box when I am copying my cd's.
    Can anyone help?

Hi I had this problem, I got round it by ripping in Windows Media Player 10 and letting it download the Album artwork.
Also when viewing the actual folder that stores your music (eg my music) go into Tolls menu, then select options then select the view tab and uncheck the option 'Hide Operating System files' This lets you view the Album Art image files
Then add the MP3 files to your library in your itunes. Once in Itunes Select all tunes in an album, right click selct get info ,then double click Artwork box and load the Album art you want.
Its a pain, but hey you only need to do it once, oh and do not uncheck the Show Album Art option in Itunes, as this may give you an Unkonown Error 50, and then it wont let you rediplay the Artwork, you have to load it all agian.
