Look for the musical notes, and you should fine both iTunes and other audio.

Qosmio G20-115: TV Tuner is missing 1 or 2 channels

Our qosmio g20 tv tuner is missing 1 or 2 channels, I'd understand if it doesn't get the channel with a bad reception on our normal tv but the channel it's missing is one of the clearest one.
I've done the scan twice and still no luck.
We have an antennae on the roof, and its been checked by a proffesional person and came up in perfect order.
Anyone got any ideas on how to solve this issue?

In this forum,I can see a lot of people that have problem with the G20 tv reception.
I can look all the English channels but the quality is very poor.
If you use the G20 as a desktop computer like me,forget the G20 tv tuner and buy a (£35/40) freeview box.
I receive marvelous images from a satellite/free box with a parabolic antenna, via 'S-Video-in port'
and marvelous images too,from a 'freeview terrestrial digital box' with a very normal antenna, via 'Monitor-in port'
If the antenna work fine with digital transmissions that are notoriously more difficult
to receive, it would must to receive fine the analog transmissions and, in my case, it's true for a normal television,
but it's not true with the G20 TV card!
Is possible that you need a 'Scart to phono' adaptor, depend which exit has your top/box.
I can jump from one top/box to another by using the utility:
"All Programs/TOSHIBA/Utilities/Picture Enhancement Utility"
then I click to: 'Monitor input setting' and I can choose: "Monitor-in" or "S-Video-in".
The G20 is a wonderful machine with a wonderful screen, but in my opinion it has a low tv card.

ProRes missing from FCP 6 - heeeelp

hi
i just installed FCP6 on my new macbook pro and the ProRes codec is missing. i can't setup a sequence with it or edit existing projects that use ProRes.
does anyone know why it wouldn't have installed the codec or know where i can get it from if its just a case of putting it in a folder? i've re-installed FCP6 3 times now and it still doesn't show up.
i tried a file created on another computer that is encoded with ProRes and i can view it perfectly.
I took a couple of screen-grabs to show what FCP6 says when trying to create a sequence using ProRes as the codec, and to show that there is no codec in the list.

the other projects i have tried to open and use were created on FCP 6.06 and i have updated my FCP to the same version.
I did another clean install today and it's still missing. I can't believe i am the only person to ever have this problem. started to get a bit annoyed now, haha,

Same problem here. After a fresh reinstall and update of FCP 6.0.6, all ProRes codecs are missing.
Some of the error codes I'm seeing suggest that it's a hardware issue, but that doesn't make sense to me, since my machine is new enough to run Color. It seems like the codecs just weren't installed correctly.
I finally ordered FCS3, which should correct this, but if there is an outstanding computer issue I would like to know about it before I upgrade.

Registry settings for I-Tunes burner missing

I have had I-Tunes for several years and have never had a problem before. Recently a start-up message has started opening that says, "The registry settings used by the I-Tunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please re-install i Tunes." So I have re-installed i Tunes several times to no avail. I'm hoping there is some techy out there who can help me out! Thank you!

I got same message, tried almost every resolution i.e. installed gear drivers, uninstalled itunes step-by-step and reinstalled. I finally got so frustrated, I finally tried the resolution noted below:
START > Run... regedit
* Go to HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE1 0318}
* Rename UpperFilters entry to UpperFilters_backup
* Create new entry of type REGMULTISZ (multi-string value) In Registry Editor, click Edit -> New -> Multi-String Value
* Name new entry UpperFilters
* Add values that are in UpperFilters_backup to new entry by double clicking it and typing in values that are in UpperFilters_backup.
* Make sure GEARAspiWDM values is entered so that it is after the 'redbook' value (if it existed UpperFilters_backup) but before any Roxio driver values ('Cdralw2k' and 'pwd_2k, if they existed), and a carriage return after each value, including last one.
* Reboot.
I was very hesitant to try this, but it was the only thing to do. There was one hitch to this. The respective file 4D36E965... did not have the UpperFilters entry. So in my case, I exported the 4D36E965 entry to my desktop as a backup just in case. Then I followed the instructions to create the entry as detailed in the instructions, added the entry as noted, rebooted, and now the message no longer appears when I open iTunes. I have no idea what causes this problem. Maybe I'll find out when I try another application. Just make sure to follow the instructions to the letter. Good luck.

CF data file missing on FCP project files

Every time I open a saved project file on Final Cut Pro, it says CF data file missing on my FCP project files. Files seem to be in constant frames folder but all black and not highlighting. suggestions?
I was saving things on a MyBook studio external HD. I think earlier as I was working or saving on the external HD it disconnected.
But shouldn't it have all my files still?
I still see all my project files and capture scratches.
Any help or suggestions please?

When I opened the FCP project. It says " CF data file missing CF+ filename here"
So I looked in my Render Files> Constant Frames folder and the files are in there. I tried to open the movie files and play them. When played, they all play back a black screen/nothing in the file? And some have a blue screen that says" unrendered".
So I try to search for the file to connect it back to the project, but when I go to th folder and try to select it. It isn't highlighted, so I can't select it. So they aren't missing.
So I have to press cancel. It seems like I'm not able to edit or work on the FCP project until I have those files connected.

I tunes updater missing component

My Apple Updater is missing some sort of component and won't update. I get an error message from Windows. I have tried to remove it in the control panel and it won't let me and says it's missing a windows controller. So I went into search and tried to remove the file and it won't let me do that either. I have also removed the entire Apple program and then went to i tunes and re-installed it and that doesn't help it either. Any ideas?

I also have this proublem, except my Updater language is set to Japanese. I have sent 2 support request to Apple. The first one I got back just said to make sure my Apple iTunes store language was set to English (it is) and I have not received a response from my second request. iTunes runs in English.

Audio missing in FCP after export

So I have an audio track in FCP which I sent to STP and added a limiter and reduce noise filter to. Saving it and going back to FCP I notice that 2 seconds are missing from the end of the audio.
I sent the referenced clip with no handles.
Now my sound is out of sync.

Did you do a Send to a Multitrack Project?
STP expects to see 48k audio coming from FCP and send aiff 48k back as an exported file.

Missing codec FCP exported Qtime .mov

I'm having a problem viewing some .mov files due to a missing codec. A contractor delivered me video content from a recent event on an external hard drive. The files he sent me are .mov files that he exported from Final Cut Pro using a DVCPRO HD (720p60), linear PCM, Timecode codec. I want to be able to view these files through Quicktime on my machine, but I don't use FCP.
I tried installing the Apple prores decoder, as another thread here seemed to indicate this might solve my issue, but when I ran the installer, it said a newer version fo the decoder was already installed on my machine. Is there any straightforward way to download/install the codec I need to view these files without shelling out for FCP?

Updated to Tiger 10.4.8 and Firewire now missing in FCP 4.5

After updating from 10.3.9 to 10.4.8 FCP 4.5 is not recognizing my DV deck. I've trashed the preferences and all of the QT Receipts as the forums recommend and still nothing. My FCP View-External Video is checked "off" but all three choices are grayed out. I have deck control but no preview and no capture. The DV deck is recognized by iMovie as well as the System Profiler. i'm on QT 7.1.3. Should I update to 10.4.10 and 7.1.6 or what? Will this cause a conflict with 4.5? Totally stumped and losing lots of time. Thanks for any suggestions.

Have you resetted the camera and made sure it was in VTR mode?
I would do what Zack says on backing up and updatiing.
If you don't clone, there is a risk of losing anything important and time to re-install everything.
I never do this since I'm a risk taker and lazy. The OS Apple makes are pretty solid for me. I'm just one of the million people who don't have much problem.

According to that, you don't seem to have added in an UpperFilters entry for GEARAspiWDM.
Did you not do that (as per the instructions in the document on what to do if the UpperFilters entry is missing)?
Or did you revert the key after attempting a filter edit and still getting the error message?

What's missing from FCP X trial version?

Hi, I'm using the Final Cut Pro x trial version at the moment and notice a lot of things missing when following an instruction book I have. Is this due to it being the trial version?

The only thing missing in the trial version is the Additional Content. That is all of the extra sound effects, music beds, etc.

Tunes Gone Missing!

I've just used the Setup Assistant to migrate from an old (iBook) Mac to a new PowerBook (not Intel.) All of my iTunes songs transferred, I can see the files in the iTunes Music folder. But...when I launch iTunes, there is nothing listed in the Library. I've tried repairing permissions, I've made sure that the .xml file is the one from the older Mac...nada. I tried resetting the Library location and consolidating the Library but that didn't help either. Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks!

Answering my own question here, sort of: I just did a software update, including the latest version of iTunes, and now my tunes are showing up in my library. So...my situation is resolved but I'm still wondering why they didn't show up before. Hmmmmmm...
