I-tunes is starting every 10 minutes

since yesterday i-tunes is starting every 10 minutes, shutting it down helps for 10 minutes, then it starts right up again. I find it very annoying since I use i-tunes once a week normally.

I guess this happened after you have updated to iOS 5. That's because you have choosen to wifi sync with your device (iPhone, iPad or iPod touch) and that you have also selected to OPEN iTunes when your device is connected. You can still leave the wifi sync on but uncheck the open iTunes when connected to the device.
To do this, you must connect your device to iTunes (wifi or cable), then once it is connected under the summary page of your device, look at Options and uncheck the Open iTunes when this device is connected.
Hope this helps!

  • HT201210 My iPhone 4s kept re-starting every few minutes.

My iPhone 4s kept re-starting every few minutes which made it virtually impossible to use. I had looked online for various solutions to solve this problem that I am having. I have manually turned the phone on and off multiple times but had no luck there. I then tried to restore the iPhone, only, during restoration, the iPhone would re-start itself, cancelling the restoration. I cannot use my phone at all now as when I try to turn it on, or plug it into my laptop or charger, the picture on the screen is telling me that I need to connect it to iTunes. Is there anything else that I am able to do to help my phone, or do I have no choice but to go to the Apple Store?

Try putting one of those movies onto your macbooks' drive and stream it and see if you have the same lag.
It's probably not being pulled from that external drive fast enough causing the lag.
I know you can watch it off your macbook fine, but you're pulling it onto the laptop, then pushing it out to the router and data transfer is always slower the more 'stuff' you give it to pass through.
For example, I can pull stuff off a harddrive at a gig a minute....but if i pull it off one and write it directly to another (using the computer as the go between) i get about 75% speed.....something that should take an hour can take almost an hour and a half.
So try streaming directly off your macbook and see if you stutter.

This is normal functionality for bootpd. Nothing to worry about.

  • [SOLVED] Cron Job that starts every 30 minutes from boot

I wish to have a cron job that runs a script every 30 minutes from boot, without any users logging in.
I know about crontab -e, but I think that would I only run once i'm logged in. I've also heard about @reboot, but that would only run the script once.

Cron jobs will run whenever the system is up, regardless of whether or not anyone is logged in.
I don't remember the syntax, but I know that at least some cron implementations have a way to run a job every 30 minutes, starting for the first time 30 minutes after reboot.
EDIT: I just checked the syntax for fcron, which is what I use, and it seems like doing @ 30 your/command/here will make it run every 30 minutes of uptime.

  • LMS 4.0.1 - DataCollection starts every 10 minutes

    Hi all,
with performing DC Metrics Report (http://xxx/campus/discoveryMetrics.do) we discovered that every 10 minutes a DataCollection
    is started (lasting about 4minutes).
Critical Device Poller settings are 4h.
What else is responsible for cyclic start of DC of all devices?
For my opinion this is too often and to much traffic on the network for mgmt.
    Thanks for any update
    Lothar

i recently updated my OS to Mint 11 64-bit, which has FireFox 4.0.1, was plagued with annoying crashes for no apparent reason.
today i seem to have discovered the problem, i hope.
through the software manager i installed flashplugin-installer, after that i opened the browser, went to the add-ons section, disabled the Shockwave Flash 10.3 - d162, restart.
hasn't crashed since, crossing my fingers

  • LaserJet 200 M276nw works for a week or so then starts intializing every 5 minutes.

Hi, I am now on my third laserjet 200 M276nw in less than a month. I've never seen any company as incompetent as HP.... nobody can figure this out,, all I have available is Indian Phone Centers... they only read and reread the same scripts to me over and over and then want to replace my brand new, expensive laser printer with a refurbished one. I just want one that works and doesn't "Initialize" every 5 minutes on the minute,, it's more accurate than Big Ben but never stops whining and squealing,, night and day. I'm running out of options,, HP is about to lose my business forever... not gonna let my 30 day trial skip into their 1 year warranty or I'll be stuck with a refurbished/someone else's problem.  Must be something simple or something I'm not seeing,, read everything I can find, but this seemingly is only happening to me??? WEIRD,, can't imagine getting 3 "OR MORE" of a defective product in a row.
ANY HELP OR IDEAS would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    >> it's not the laptop. When I turned the printer back on,, it initialized and then again at 5 minute intervals ...
The fact that the printer did not re-initialise with the various computing devices switched off would seem to imply that the re-initialise action is triggered by something on one of the devices, and is not inherent to the printer itself.
The fact that this action didn't happen when the laptop was switched on (even after waiting at least 5 minutes?), but did start again when the printer was then power-cycled may perhaps be because the laptop didn't recognise that the printer was there until the printer reboot triggered some interrupt within the laptop operating system.
    >> ... had an Error 49 earlier this afternoon and it shut itself down,, didn't  mention it before but haven't had one since ...
So are you saying that the 5-minute occurrences are not each preceded by an error 49.xx being reported (bearing in mind that it may flash up on the display and disappear very quickly)?
And can you confirm that it IS re-initialising each time (the display will presumably indicate this) rather than just entering a cleaning or calibration cycle?

    Hi everybody,
i updated my IPAD  bought in october 2013 to IOS 8.02.
Now the IPAD only goes to the apple logo, every few minutes it blinks blue and starts over. I tried doing the home plus switch thing and it doesnt work.

Do you have any solution to this issue?

  • Why would AOL webmail suddenly start to drop & reconnect every 2 minutes

using v7.0.1, IE8 doesn't display this behavior, so it's apparently not an AOL thing
almost like clockwork, every 2 minutes, message flashes "reloading" followed by "you've got mail" and return to webmail starting page

I forgot to mention another odd part of this issue:
In the scant five minutes of uptime I get after rebooting the router, I'm seeing only about a quarter of the speed I usually see when transferring files between my wired MacBook and my WiFi MacBook. Usually, downloading a file from the wired computer to my wireless computer goes at about 8 MBps, but in the uptime I get now, it caps out at 2 MBps.

Just rented a movie on apple tv and it keeps starting and stopping every few minutes. have restarted in settings. have unplugged and replugged apple tv. any other suggestions?

The first thing to check would be your internet download speed, you can do this at www.speedtest.net.
1080p HD movies require a recommended speed of 8 Mbps, 720p HD movies require a recommended speed of 6 Mbps, while SD movies require a recommended speed of 2.5 Mbps.

iPhone 4S 32 GB starts aprox every 5 minutes by themself after restoring/updating iOS 6.1.3 from support mode.
What to do? Have 2 times restored iOS 6.1.3

I am having the exact same problem with my iphone 5.
I took it back to the Apple store 2 days ago and they gave me a new one, but they told me not to restore it from backup cos if something (an app) is corrupted it will happen again. The only thing they could keep was my contacts cos they did something there that allowed them to transfer them to the new phone. I went home, and downloaded only ONE app (facebook), and guess what - THE PROBLEM IS STILL OCCURING ON THE BRAND NEW PHONE! It is driving me insane as I cant get through the day without my phone.
Really hoping someone has a fix that will work
