itunes not recognising iphone 3GS. iphone is in a loop of searching..with image of connector to "itunes" on screen. Very frustrating - please help
Check first if your iTunes is up-to-date. If it's updated, try using a different cable or try plugging it to a different USB port.

ITunes not recognising iPhone or iPad since upgrading to OS 10.8.2 and iOS 6
Just upgraded to OS 10.8.2, and iOS 6 on iPhone and iPad. Now both these devises are not recognised in iTunes ( no Devices listed ). I have followed the suggested options with no success.
Anyone else had this problem?Yes I have similar problem. It initially recognised my iPhone 5 but wont restore from back, so reinstalled itunes which resloved the restore from backup issue. Now, no devices listed like yours.

Itunes 11.1.5 not recognising iphone 4 with 7.1 iOS upgrade
Hi
I have an iMac that I synch my iPhone 4s to. I recently updated the OS to 7.1 and itunes to 11.1.5. Now it's not recognising the iphone but still recognises the ipad (running ios7.1). I checked the cables, uninstalled and reinstalled itunes. No joy. Can anyone help?Since I do not use a Mac, I've not looked at, nor tried those steps, since they do not apply to me. This is Apple's support document for the Mac, that is why I recommended it. If you have tried that and also removed and reinstalled iTunes, then there is something else wrong. I suggest that you make an appointment at the Genius Bar to discuss the issue.

can you help my iphone wont recognise in itunes
This forum is for questions from those managing sites on iTunes U, Apple's service for colleges and universities to post educational material in the iTunes Store. You'll be most likely to get help with this issue if you ask in the general iTunes for Mac forums.
BTW, iTunes 10.3.1 is not a beta release. Only the iTunes in the Cloud service is beta.

ITunes 10.3.1.55 not recognising iPhone 3gs/iPad 2
Hi I hope someone can help!
I updated to latest iTunes when I purchased iPad 2 and for three days all was fine. I'm running a 64 bit laptop on Windows 7. Yesterday the pc ran a windows update and installed some security changes, not sure if this will have been the issue.
When I went to synch either the iPad or the iPhone today, the pc recognises the device bringing up the usual what do you want to do with this, but in iTunes nothing happens for a fair few minutes and then I get the following error message with an exclamation mark:
"iTunes cannot read the contents of the <device name>. Go to the Summary tab in the <device> preferences and click Resore to restore this <device> to factory settings."
I reinstalled iTunes and it seemed like the problem was solved and I managed to get iPad 2 synched however iTunes froze while in the back up stage of synching the iPhone 3 gs and I had to close it down from the windows task master.
Now my iPone 3gs won't work due to the failed synch and when I try to do the system restore it gets so far and then brings up the critical message error:
"The iPhone could not be restored. An unknown error occured (6)." I was able to restore the iPhone to factory settings on another machine, but then unable to restore from back up when back on the laptop.
I've checked that I have the latest Apple Mobile Drivers and have uninstalled and reinstalled just to be sure.
I'm running the AVG Free Anti Virus and Zone Alarm Firewall. I've checked the Zone Alarm Programs and ensured that iTunes is ticked for access to everything.
I'm stumped and my phone doesn't work.
Please help!
Thanks
WealieDon't reset your phone. Resetting will return the phone to factory settings and you will loose everything. Spend some time working toward a fix.
You might want to try a different USB cable. It is possible that your cable conincedentally went bad. I have had this problem before - even cables that will chrage the phone sometimes stop working for data purposes. -
ITunes does not recognise iPhone 5s on Windows 8
I have the latest version of iTunes and also the latest version of OS for iPhone 5s (7.1).
I have only noticed this problem since these updates. My iPhone is recognised by my Windows 8 OS in Computer and I can import pictures/videos, however, iTunes will not identify the device.
I have ran the diagnostics tests via iTunes and followed all recommended suggestions but to no avail.
Reboot iPhone
Reboot Laptop
Uninstall iTunes & re-install
Stoped apple mobile device service and restarted
reinstalled drivers
iTunes Helper is running
Disable all startup items
Deleted Temp folder
Temporarily disable firewall
Does anyone have any suggestions other than the above that I could try please?
Thank you
PeteUse the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
restart pc after uninstall
