I-tunes on other MP3

I recently began using i-tunes, and am still learning the technical stuff. I cannot for the life of me transfer the 2 songs that I purchased off of i-tunes onto my MP3 player (which, unforunately, is not an i-pod but a Creative Zen V-Plus). Is there a list of certain songs that are compatible with players other than i-pod? I realize that i-tunes became available for non-i-pod users only recently.
Thank you!!

I'm not sure where you heard that the iTunes & the iTunes store is compatible with anything other than an iPod because it really isn't. Store purchases are in protected AAC format which is ONLY compatible with an iPod. You may burn your purchase to an audio CD, that audio CD can be used in the same manner that you would use a CD that you might purchase at your local store.

  • Playing unprotected ripped tunes on other MP3 players?

My friend has an ipod formatted for Windows. She set the preferences to import files in an MP3 format. She ripped (imported) unprotected songs, in this iTunes MP3 format, from CDs.
They played on her iPod, no problem.
But when she tried to import them into a generic (non-Apple ipod) MP3 player those files would not import.
She was told by the manufacturer of this generic player that iTunes MP3 files are not true MP3 files.
    Is this accurate?
Also, read in another discussion that others have had this problem and that using Windows Media to rip an iTunes burned CD would be the way to go. This is what was written:
"The only way I have found to use iTunes songs on my MP3 is to burn my playlist to disk using Itunes burn disk. Then using windows media player version 11 "rip" the CD to the library. This will put it in a wma format that can be read by you MP3."
Is that the only way around this problem or is there some easier way to get unprotected iTunes imported songs to play in a non-ipod player?
    Thanks, Panther

She was told by the manufacturer of this generic player that iTunes MP3 files are not true MP3 files.
    Is this accurate?
No. They are regular and "true" mp3 files.
Make sure the files are RIP'd with a compatible bitrate for the mp3 player.

  • Itunes and other mp3 plyers

i got a creative zen for ny birthday and was asking for a ipod but oh well. i have a lot of music on my itunes. and for the life of my i cant figure out how to get my music in itunes over to my mp3 help me please someone

Ok first off there is not going to be a good way sync a non apple mp3 palyer to iTunes. Here are your options
    - If the music you have was purchased though the iTunes music store then no other MP3 player will be able to play them. You will have to burn it to a CD and then import the files as MP3 files. Then you should be able to point your MP3 player software to where ever iTuens is saving your music lib. Be sure you only copy over the MP3 files and not the m4p, m4b, or m4a files. They will only play on iPods and though iTunes.
    - If you music is all MP3 files you RIPPED from CDs then you should be able to just point your MP3 palyer software to where ever iTuens is saving your music files and sync it.
Either way if you copy new music file from your music player to your PC you will need to re-add the folder they were added from to iTunes or iTuens will not see them.

  • Using other MP3 players with ITunes

Can anyone give me some guidance? My little girl wants an ipod after having great fun listening to my ipod shuffle. All my music is now stored on iTunes so the question is; does itunes support any other MP3 players or will it only support ipods - I was going to buy her a cheap £15 player.
Any help would be gratefully recieved.

    JoJo70,
To elaborate slightly on what polydorus said, cheap mp3 players play mp3 format files only, full stop. The one I have used (in the same price range you are talking about) connects to the PC via USB, and opens in Windows as a folder. You can then copy/paste files into it, or delete files that are already in it. It truly does not care if iTunes is present or not.
To your comment that "All my music is now stored on iTunes": not really. Your music is stored on your hard drive, and iTunes only contains a library that points to it. There is no reason you can't use the same song files for some non-iTunes purpose, and that is what you will be doing with your daughter's player.
Sooner or later however, she will want an iPod.

  • Ipod (and other mp3 player) no longer mount

When I connect my Nano to my Mac, the battery charge icon shows in the Nano display, but the Nano does not mount on the desktop nor does it show as being connected to the computer. I have a second mp3 player (Sandisk) and it does the same -- its display shows it connecting to the computer but it never shows on the desktop or in the sidebar of windows.
BTW, I have checked Finder preferences and Ipods are checked to be displayed. I have the iPod in disk mode.
    Any help appreciated.

Sorry can you see the other MP3 under the Disk
    Utility?
No. I also checked the /Volumes directory in the terminal and it doesn't show there either. The player display says "USB connect."

Is the new earpods support bass in other mp3 players?

The new earpods should support extended bass noise with other devices as it is not a software eq but the actual physical response of the speaker inside the earpod.

  • Transfering Itunes store purchase to my PC or other mp3 player

need help transfering Itunes purchase to my PC or other MP3 player

    Hello cpmurman,
It sounds like you have a purchase on an iOS device that you want to transfer to your computer. You can use the following article named:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1848
After connecting your device to the computer and its icon appears in iTunes, go to the File menu, then Devices, and choose Transfer Purchases from "(Your device name)".
Or, you can Show Sidebar from the View menu, and then right-click (Windows or Mac) or Control-click (Mac only) your device in the iTunes Source list, then choose Transfer Purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
Please note that this feature works only for items that were purchased on the iTunes Store. Any items imported from audio CDs or acquired from other sources will not copy from your device to the iTunes library. Please see this article for more details.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • SHARING SONGS WITH OTHER MP3 PLAYERS

Does anyone know if there is a way to share songs with other MP3 players, such as the Dell DJ?
That is wat I used to have before i got my iPod and i would like to get the 2500 songs off of that and onto my new iPod.
    Thanks for the help.

Does the Dell come with any software to move songs to a PC? If you can do that, you can add any MP3s from it into the iTunes Library. Google for software for the Dell or try the Dell forums to see if anyone there has an answer.

  • Is this earpods match with other mp3 players?

Is this earpod match with other mp3 players and produce its effects?

It uses the industry standard 3.5 mm plug, so it should work with all other MP3 players or electronics that make use of the 3.5 mm headphone jack.
However, the remote and Mic probably wont' work with them though.

  • Download From Other MP3 Sources

I am planning to use my iPod touch to assist me in auditioning some Klipsch speakers for a virtual organ project. The source URLs for my audio are
    www.organartmedia.com/sounds/vollenhove/Buxtehude-Toccata_F.mp3 and
    www.milandigital.com/mp3/grace/Krebs-Oboe-Fantasy.mp3
I need the steps required to load these into my iPod as it seems that loading tunes is locked in to what is available through CD collections and the iTunes store.

Download the MP3s on your computer and just drag them into the iTunes window. Unless something's amiss with your installation, it's not locked to using solely CDs or the iTunes Store at all. You can then sync those tracks to your iPod.
    Regards.

  • Loading tunes to car mp3 player

Hi! I'm new to this forum and iTunes as well. I also have Dell Musicmatch Jukebox that I use to connect and load tunes to my car Sony DVD/mp3 player that connects with a cable/terminal like my Canon 20d camera uses. I get no response when trying to load tunes from iTunes. Do I need a special patch, plug-in or driver? I want to keep Musicmatch as well if possible. Can you advise me in simple terms? Thanks

The tunes are from cd's and are already in a playlist. I have no problems using my ipod shuffle, but I need to use my Corvette's Sony mp3 player if I can find a way to connect. Ipod connects via usb, of course, as you know, and this Sony player "faceplate" does too but must use a different "driver". Are Apple products the only mp3 players that are allowed to connect and download?

  • I have a new computer, and I downloaded a new iTunes for my iPod, but it only transferred my Purchased Songs to my Library, not the other mp3s. Now when I go to add more mp3s and sync, it will add it to my Library, but not my iPod itself... What happened?

I want to add more songs, but I cannot figure out how to sync my iPod to actually transfer my mp3s. I had done it before, which is how I have most of my songs, but I don't know what I can do without totally erasing everyhing and starting over... Which I don't want to do, because I have a new computer and no old files. I'll have to do that if worst comes to worst, I guess. Hoping there's some other way around it.

You can only synce an iPod to one iTunes Library/one computer.  However, you can manage music among different computer . see:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
If you want to transfer non-iTunes purchased music from an iPod to a computer other than the one you synced the music from you need to use a third-party program like one of those discussed here:

  • ITunes with other MP3 Players

I am SICK and tired of my iPod not working correctly... I want to buy another MP3 player... can I use the iTunes songs (that I already paid a ridiculous amount of money on) with systems other than apple?

Purchases from the store are in protected AAC format which will not be compatible with anything but an iPod. If you change your purchase to mp3 format, you will have to burn to an audio CD, use the audio CD to re-import as mp3.
I nearly forgot this link from Scott P. & Hudgie which will explain iTunes compatibility with non-iPod devices. Unfortunately, the short answer is that they won't work.
