I-tunes ringtones creation

I cannot find the section ringtones in my i-tunes so I cannot create a ringtone from the songs, can somebody tell me how to do it please?

My guess--the User's Manual was written for American customers (with the expectation that someday soon it will be applicable to UK customers). I've googled and discovered that ringtones were supposed to be available in England a few months ago. I suspect that this deadline was missed! Meanwhile, google your problem...there are "converter" programs available to help you create the ringtones you desire!

  • ITunes ringtones creation

When I use iTunes (last version) and I try to create a ringtones, an error message appear : "can't connect to iTunes Store" (error 11556)
So iTunes can connect to iTunes Store, because I buy my music on iTunes Store.
How can I solve this problem ?
    Thanks.

Unless something's changed in the last couple of days, Apple has not been able to obtain licenses to sell ringtones anywhere but in the US as of yet. There are other ways to create ringtones, though; just search the web for "iPhone ringtones" and you'll find lots of information.

    What version of the database?
Creating indexes in parallel is described in the documentation. Search the on-line documentation for the syntax for create index; if there aren't any specific examples of creating indexes in parallel do a Google search for "create index parallel"

  • Ringtone creation sign in loop

Ok, I have tried everything I can think of to create a ringtone in iTunes. Everytime I click the bell and chose create ringtone iTunes asks me to sign-in. I sign-in and it asks again and again. My password and user name are correct. I downloaded the free song of the day like another user suggested and updated all agreements. I also reinstalled iTunes. I have done everything I can think of! Please help, I want better ringtones.

This is a ridiculous situation. I spent over talking to Apple "Tech Support", who now seem to be fully staffed by teenage punks who couldn't solve a problem as complex as "What would your exist strategy be from a wet paper bag". After 3 of them couldn't operate their phone system well enough to avoid hanging up on me or telling me it was because I run iTunes on Windows system (This after them taking the serial number of my MacBook Pro and OSX rev!!!), asking me to reinstall iTunes, delete the iTunes plist, changing my iTunes store password, Nothing.... No Change.
Apple needs to get used to actually supporting their customer base if they want to be a serious contender for the home, the student and where the real money is, the Enterprise....

  • Ringtone creation

I have purchased a album from the itunes store and it shows in my purchased list. It also has the bell symbol indicating it can be made into a ring tone. When I click create ringtone I am ask to sign in the the itune store. But it returns with the complaint "Please sign in with the same account that was used to purchase the song" I have one account and have never used any other account to buy music. I have changed the password thinking that had been corrupted. No luck. How do I create a ring tone from a purchased song using the original account?
    Thanks
    Joe

got it bro, you need togo into control panel, display and change your resolution on your monitor. It will make the screen a litlle wider and then youwill see the buy button.

  • Ringtone Creation Password Loop

I am trying to create ringtones from music purchased on iTunes but I get stuck in a password loop that just asks for the password over and over. I have updated versions of everything, and have triple checked that I am using the same account that I used to purchase the music (I only have one iTunes account).
Has anyone else had this problem? What else have I not tried/checked??
Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide.

    Hey there,
Sometimes this happens if the terms and conditions of the iTunes store agreement have changed and you haven't yet agreed to the new terms. In iTunes (at the top of the application window) click Store and go down to Sign Out. Then quit the iTunes application, wait a second or two, and open it back up. Click Store and go down to Sign In. Enter your Apple ID and password as prompted. If there are new terms you'll be prompted to agree to them at that point. Regardless of whether you're provided this option, now that you've refreshed your account's connection to iTunes, see if you can make your Ringtone.
    Hope this is helpful

  • Nokia N8:Could not personalize Nokia Tune ringtone

    It's been 2 months I'm using N8 & I like N8 very much.
But I was surprised to check that you cannot assign Nokia Tone to contact if default tone in current profile is not Nokia Tone.
Also in Power Save mode though I have not selected mute phone in 'Turning Control' call gets muted when mobile is turned upside down.
I thought Nokia may have fixed this problem in software update 013.016 but it's not been fixed.
    Waiting for Reply.

I can't get that to work either. I just bought my phone ad was ready to return it.

  • I have synced by I-phone to I-tunes to sync custom ringtones but they do not show up on I-Phone.  They are in the syncing que in I-tunes but not on phone.  Can someone help here.

I am having problems syncing the I-Phone ringtones from I-tunes to the I-Phone.  These are custom ringtones and they do show up in the I-tunes ringtones and syncing seems to work but they are not on the I-Phone?

    1. CC 2014 uses different folder for CEP extensions. If you installed both CC apps and CC 2014 apps, Extension Manager CC will install CEP extensoins to both "~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEPServiceManager4/extensions" and "~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions". Please check if you can find your extensions in the latter folder.
    2. Flash based extensions are no longer supported by PS CC 2014. So if some of your extensions are Flash based, even if they are installed to the folder above, PS CC 2014 will not load them. You have to install their HTML based counterparts. Refer to

  • Trying to create ringtones, but error (11556) appears.

Trying to create ringtones on I-Tunes for I-phone, but when I select a track & go to create ringtones, creation option flashes up for around a second before being replaced by an error:-
"Itunes could not connect to the Itunes store. An unknown error occurred (11556). Please make sure your network connection is active & try again."
My internet connection works fine & I experiene no connection issues in any other part of the apple store, but non of my 2000+ Itunes has the bell icon next to it indicating a ringtone is creatable, even though the majority of tunes are purchased from Itunes.
    Any ideas?

So, this forum suggests it's an issue with iTunes in specific countries not yet supporting ringtone conversion due to copyright restrictions:

This forum backs that up in Australia:

  • Itunes can't make ringtone

I purchased a song from iTunes just to make a ringtone, and when I tried to do it, I got a message that says: this song can no longer be made into a ringtone.
Does anyone know what this is about?

If a song is eligible for custom ringtone creation, the Ringtone Editor appears at the bottom of the screen. If a song is not eligible, you will see the message: "This song cannot be made into a ringtone."
You can also choose View > View Options and select the Ringtone checkbox to display ringtone-eligible songs.
Simplest thing to do: You're on a Mac, just use garage band to make your own ringtones & export directly to itunes:

  • Ringtone option not showing up for certain songs in itunes

Ok, so some of my songs that I purchased on itunes are now ringtone eligible and the bell isn't showing up in my itunes. I have the most up to date version of itunes. I don't understand why a song that I have purchased in the last month that originally wasn't ringtone capable, but now is, itunes isn't giving me the option to make it a ringtone. Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Help!!!

There has been a bug reported in iTunes with bell symbols disappearing...it happened to me once a couple weeks ago.
Right click on the song in your that you think is ringtone-capable and select "Create Ringtone". If the song really is ringtone-capable, it will open the ringtone creation window. If it's not ringtone-capable, you'll get an error message.

  • Ringtone icon suddenly gone

I have several hundred purchased songs in my iTunes library that up until yesterday, had the little bell icon next to them indicating they could be converted to ringtones. I had, in fact, made two tones which sound great on my iPhone. Yesterday, suddenly and without warning, after canceling the creation of a ringtone I had been playing around with, the bell icon disappeared from all of my songs. Now, not a single song in my library is eligible for ringtone creation, including the two I had already used.
I logged into another of my computers to see if I had the same issue there, and I do. None of the songs are eligible for ringtones, when I know for a fact many of them are as I see the on the iTunes Store. Just for kicks I deauthorized the computers and reauthorized them, but no luck. The problem remains. Anyone else have the issue or any idea how to fix the problem? Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

I have the same issue. I too had made a couple of ringtones and they still work on my iPhone but I can no longer use the songs I had purchased from the iTunes Store to create more ringtones. At first I thought it happened after I uprgraded to 7.4.2 but it sounds like it happened to you without upgrading. I've tried reauthorization, restart, repair of permissions, and screaming at my computer. Other than that I don't know what else to do so I would also appreciate suggestions on how to correct the problem. Thanks.

  • Ringtone apple id problems

The basic problem is that I have had trouble both making a ringtone from an eligeable song I already own, and problems synching ringtones from newly purchased eligeable songs. I believe this problem is related to changes made to my Apple ID account a few months ago during a visit to an Apple store in Milwaukee.
Sorry if this is too much detail, but here's the whole story. Years ago when .Mac first came out I created an account. I let that account lapse after one year. For years afterward my Apple ID was [email protected]. I dimly recall calling up Apple support and being told that the ID could not be changed, and not to worry as it was just nomenclature and wasn't my contact email address anymore. It still bugged me, but since I had no real problem I let it go. A couple of months ago I visited an Apple store in Milwaukee and when I mentioned this issue they said the account name could be changed, no problem. They opened a browser window and allowed me to change my Apple ID from [email protected] to [email protected] - my actual email address. I felt better about the whole thing and thought no more about it.
The problem started when ringtones appeared with iTunes 7.4.1. I looked through my library for ringtone-able music, selected a song, and tried to make a ringtone. I was aksed to log in to my Apple account. The ID that was offered was my old one: [email protected]. I removed that and logged into my new account. The login window disappeared but nothing happened. I clicked again on the bell icon and then the ringtone creation pane appeared at the bottom of the screen. I selected the portion of the song I wanted and clicked 'buy.' Then I got an error: "Could not create ringtone. An unknown error occurred. (-42160) There was an error in the iTunes store. Please try again later." Trying again later didn't help.
Noting that it prompted me for the old account name - the account name that was used to purchase the song - I thought that might be the problem. Even though I could play the song and sync it to my phone, somehow I could not purchase a ringtone using it. I decided to buy a new song, with the new account name, and make a ringtone out of that. That worked.
Encouraged, I tried to make a ringtone from the first song, the one that never worked. This time I did something different. When it prompted me to log in using the old account name I did not replace it with the new account name. Instead, I logged into the old account name AND the old password. Which WORKED. I logged in and made the ringtone. Wow.
Then I plugged in my iPhone and let it sync. Neither of these two ringtones showed up in the phone, even though my prefs are for all ringtones to sync, and both are listed in the ringtones area.
I think there are several problems going on here, mostly having to do with having my account name changed from the one used to purchase songs. I can still play those songs, but I can't make ringtones from them.

I guess I should specify that the one that doesn't work is a) an old-accountname-song and one that i've been getting errors on since the beginning. I don't know if I've messed up something in the song or the iTunes prefs or what. But the song is legit to make into a ringtone, was bought by me (under my old Apple ID) and is authorized to play on my computer, but it will not be made into a ringtone. Instead it generates the error mentioned upthread.
I don't know if I'll continue to have this difficulty with other old songs I own. But it seems as if I'm going to be asked to log in each time I want to make a ringtone. And the offered Apple ID in the login screen seems to be taken from the metadata of the song itself. Therefore if I bough it using [email protected], that's the username I'll be asked to log in with.
I don't want to experiment on any of my older music. The only way to find out if it will actually work is to spend the $0.99 to see, and that's getting old already.

  • Ringtones and attatchments

Ok, chances are this has been asked before as i'm a new user of the i-phone, sorry if it has.
How do i get a none i-tunes ringtone onto my phone, I recently downloaded 2 soundbites, 1 for a ringtone and 1 for a message tone, so how do I get them to work as ringtones and message tones.
Secondly, how do I send an attatchment, there is no option given to either bluetooth to another phone or add attatchments to e-mails.
I'm giving it untill tuesday then the phone will go back if it won't do what I want it to do.
    Thanks,
    Martin.

You can use Google to find out how to make ringtones for iphone out of most any sound file.
You CANNOT make a custom text sound/message sound. This is not a feature of iphone.
You cannot add attachments (as you cannot store files on iphone)or use bluetooth to transfer files. You can forward an e-mail with attachment. You can e-mail pics.

  • Nokia 6288 doesn't retain settings after reboot

Hi, i've a problem with a Nokia 6288 that after each reboot
does not retain settings regarding "Normal" profile and background. If i turn off the phone, when i turn it back on it reverts to blank backround and "nokia tune" ringtone and all other settings to default.
I already tried to reset it to factory default but had no luck.
Also tried reflashing firmware with nokia software updater but the problem still remains.
There is a way for "hard resetting" it to factory default?
    Regards
