I tunes will not download quicktime

i really hate apple products more than ever. bought the nano yesterday just to have the install disc freeze during the installation of this bs quicktime program, now nothing works. anybody know how the refund works?

Refunds work however the store you bought it from says they work, and you didn't say where you bought it.
Anyway, iTunes needs QuickTime to work.
You might try installing QuickTime standalone, not regular

i tunes will not download with windows 8.1

i dont get any message,  its just gets stuck while downloading, and will not finish.
    Many thanks.
Try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?
If you still can't get a working installer from the standard download page, try the following direct download links for 11.1.5.5:

    Vague.

  • Quicktime 7.5.5 will not download quicktime movies from webpage sources

I had no difficulty downloading movies before I upgraded to 7.5.5. All I had to do was click on the down-pointing arrow on the lower right-hand corner of the preview, and I could make a permanent copy of the download. I cannot do that with 7.5.5 altho' the help menu says I should be able to. Instead of showing the movie on preview as it used to on a screen that had the necessary arrow, now those movies go directly to the quicktime movie program and there is no way I can see to save the download permanently.
So where are these movies going? They're not protected, I know, since I was able to download from the same sources before, and they are not pay sites.
I have leopard 10.5.5 on an intell iMac.

That's professionally terse and should be informative, but it doesn't help at all since it doesn't happen to be true. I never had pro, nor was I ever able to ''Save As'' with the qt version I had. The new quicktime 7.5.5 does claim I should be able to save such movies however. In its instructions under ''help'', it informs me that I should first see a sample movie, centered on the computer screen, and that movie panel should have, on its lower right-hand corner, a down-pointing arrow which, when clicked on, offers 3 options, one of which is ''save as quicktime movie''. I should see that screen, and according to the 7.5.5 instructions, I should have those options. I used to, with the earlier qt version, but I don't anymore - not with 7.5.5. Unfortunately, that particular preview movie screen never opens. Instead, the movie immediately opens on the qt screen in the upper left-hand corner of the computer and is impossible to save. Of course, the publicity for the upgrade says that all these movies are stored in the quicktime browser's cache, but I can't find the cache so while they may be there, we'll apparently never know - unless, of course, you happen to know how to open the browser cache.
    Do you?

  • I-Tunes will not download to my i-Mac

After updating itunes because my new i-pad required it, i-tunes refused to open. I tried every suggestion I could find on this support network to correct the problem, but nothing worked, so I uninstalled i-Tunes, removing everything from my i-Mac, and I mean everything. A spotlight search comes up with no references to i-Tunes. I did thid expecting that I would then be able to download the latest version. Not so...I go to the i-Tunes download site, press the 'Download i-Tunes' button. The screen changes and immediately I get the message, "Thank you for downloading i-Tunes'. But nothing else happens. there's no downloader, no installer, nothing. Nothing has been downloaded.
Do I have to do something else to prepare my imac for it? I hoped I could at least get the original from my backup Applications CD, but it isn't in there. Unfortunately, I didn't get time machine to back up my applications folder.
    All suggestions welcome.

Thanks for responding. It seems my download speed is too slow and iTunes sensed this so didn't bother downloading. I finally got a friend with a fast connection to download the installer packet, put it on a USB stick, and then I transferred it to my iMac. Also thanks for correcting my hyphens.

You may not have the iPod's Music tab set up in iTunes, which is how you tell iTunes how to automatically sync your iPod.
Select the iPod in iTunes.  There is a row of "tabs" (starting with Summary).  Click on Music there.
To use automatic syncing, the checkbox for Sync Music is checked.  Below that, you can choose to sync Entire music library, if it fits.  Otherwise, you can choose to sync Select playlists, artists, albums, and genres.
With the latter choice, you can create a selection of songs to sync to the iPod by selecting (checkmarking) playlists, artists, albums, and/or genres on the Music tab.  For example, you can make a playlist in iTunes with all the songs you want on the iPod.  That new album needs to be on that playlist, if you want those songs synced to the iPod.  On the Music tab, checkmark that playlist.
When you Apply the change, your selection of songs sync to the iPod (replacing its existing content). Going forward, any changes in the iTunes Music library that are related to your selection of songs on the Music tab sync automatically to the iPod when you connect it, or when you click Sync.
Therefore, if you create a playlist with songs you want on the iPod, and select it on the iPod's Music tab, you can simply update that playlist in iTunes (add and remove songs), and those changes sync to the iPod automatically at the next opportunity.

looks like the gtk theme is not the problem. didnt really think it was, but the documentation was worth posting. the guys over at ubuntu look as though they have dealt with this in great detail, and have produced a few solutions, which may or may not work. i have decided to post these for anyone else who may have these problems.
Solution 1 - new user creation:
    https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/104521
Solution 2 - config file delete:
    http://ge.ubuntuforums.com/showthread.php?t=724439
post number 6 here features the config file delete solution, as well as a link to another post which may be useful.
judging by a google search on this problem and the number of responses that came up, the bonobo/daemon error is quite a common curse for the users of gnome, although much more common in distros such as ubuntu or fedora.
i hope that this proves useful and if anyone has anything to add, please feel free. the more documentation the better.
    EDIT:
another solution would be to remove gnome and reinstall it from scratch. (some please tell me if i am doing this correctly. thanks )
    1. clean your catch:
    pacman -Scc
    2. remove gnome, gnome extras, and whatever other gnome files you might have installed
    pacman -Rscn gnome gnome-extra etc...
    3. reinstall gnome and gnome extras
    pacman -Sy gnome gnome-extra
    4. reconfigure your desktop the way you want.

  • Quicktime 7.7.5 will not download to my pc (8.1).

Quicktime 7.7.5 will not download to my Lenovo laptop (8.1). The Apple "Thanks for downloading " page appears, but no file transfer is made to my machine. I use Windows Defender, but no other security software. I am the admin and sole user.

It sounds like the QuickTime installer downloaded but hasn't been run. Where it's saying "thanks for downloading". See if you can find a folder named Downloads it should be in there. Or do a search for QuickTimeInstaller.exe and run it.

  • Quicktime will not download to my pc

have vista 32 bit and when i try to download quicktime it will not download, window from apple says thank you for downloading quicktime, but my pc shows no sign of any download anywhere...I"VE SEARCHED! its gotta be something simple right? what am i overlooking. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

have vista 32 bit and when i try to download quicktime it will not download, window from apple says thank you for downloading quicktime,
It's going straight to the Thank You without first showing you the Run/Save dialog?
If so, that can be caused by Pop-up blockers and/or web accelerators.
If you switch off all your pop-up blockers and/or web accelerator, does the download proceed properly?

  • I downloaded some movies and the I-Tunes extra for the movies will not download

I downloaded three movies on ITUNES and the ITUNES Extra for them specific movies will not download. I have the latst update version of ITUNES installed. I've hit the download button and it states "ITUNES extra has errors   please try again".
    Can anybody assist!

Ok, so after like 4 days of going through all these different issues, I figured out that several programs weren't downloading, and it was an issue with my wireless connectivity messing up the digital signatures, so if you plug in your comp to the modem and delete your temp files, it should start to work!

  • Lost old nano new one will not download my whole list of tunes

Lost my nano and purchased new ne in us! Will not download all my library of music , only about 900 out of 1400! Why

How is your iPod set up to sync music from your iTunes library?  In other words, what options do you have selected/enabled from under your iPod's Music and Summary tabs?
If nothing else,  see this article for more information on the different ways to sync music to your iPod from iTunes.

I edit movies onMac OS X using Final Cut Express and down load to desk top in .mov format. How do I load finished movie to i pad 2? i tunes will not transfer it. Thanks, stevefromnorthfreo

Try outputting it as a MP4 or M4V
If Final Cut won't output it, Mpegstreamclip will convert it. So will Quicktime if you have the pro version.

  • My I Pod will not download all content  to my laptop. running windows 7 and I Pod ver. 6.1.6.

My I Pod will not download all music contents to my I Tunes on my Lap top when I sync.  I have tried auto sync and manual download.  i am running Windows 7 and my I Pod is updated to version6.1.6.  I have tried to sync on two different lap tops and have deleted and reinstalled I Tunes on both lap tops.
    Any suggestions?

What exactly happens when you try to sync?
    Does iTunes see the iPod?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
If so have you done anything like update iTunes on the computer since it last successfully synced?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Does any media now sync to the iPod?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?
iTunes: Syncing media content to iOS devices and iPod
Try syncing using the manual method   Maye you did this by "manual download"
Managing content manually on iPhone, iPad, and iPod
You can only sync to one computer/iTunes library so try:
Backing up the iPOd and then restore from that backup
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
