I tunes won't work and I can't reinstall the program

Question

When I click the itunes icon nothing happens. So I uninstalled Itunes but I cannot uninstall Quick Time. I get the same message when I try to reinstall Itunes with Quick Time as when I try to uninstall Quick Time:
The instruction at "0x7c901095" referenced memory at "0x01010037". The memory could not be "written". Click OK to terminate this program.

thanks for clarifying that.
it's an unusual sort of an error message to be getting in this context ... so we'll try some general-principles troubleshooting.
first, we'll try uninstalling QuickTime by other means.
Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. then use it to clear any existing QuickTime installation configuration information from your PC:

Next, we’ll manually remove leftover program files and folders.
1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
3. Open Program Files.
4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx.
7. Restart your computer.
does an itunes install go through properly now, with all that material cleared out of the way?
