Itunes new update now wont allow me to transfer any new music to my phone.
Is this music trapped? I am supposed to re buy all my cds from apple now at 1.00$ each?
With my 140gb music collection that would cost 40,000$
really? That's your plan apple? If that is the new deal, I will be getting rid of all apple stuff.

It is a new thing with apple - if you didn't buy the music from them- you can't transfer it to any idevice
anymore. Its a new feature with the newest itunes update.
Evidently it is to force us to buy all music from apple . the problem with that plan is- all the music I already have
is now useless. Am I supposed to re buy 140gb of music? that's 40,000$.
I guess the trick is- don't do updates anymore till I get all my stuff moved out of apple.
I just bought a new iphone a month ago- it will be a shame to sell themall at a loss and buy samsung galaxy.
I would rather have the iphone but if itunes is gonna screw everyone like this- then I'm gonna have no choice.

I received an Iphone 5 as a gift two days ago. The first thing I did was set up ICloud for photos. Itunes would not allow me to add songs to my new phone without restoring it, yet when I did this, it deleted all 129 photos of my graduation and friends from the past two days. Were the photos taken by your new iPhone? If so, did you not import them off your phone to your computer (as you would any other digital camera) before the restore? If not, restoring wiped the data off the phone and your pictures are gone.

The same way they were put on the previous iPhone, sync them.

Great question nolen1945! I have answers. If you are staying with a prepaid plan, then you credit will be applied to your new Prepaid Smartphone Plan. And if you convert from a preaid plan to a postpay plan then your credit can't be applied to the account. We will be happy to assist you with the conversion to your new phone.

First go to your Gmail account and change the Apple ID with a made-up email address that doesn't exist.
Then go to your Verizon account and change the Apple ID to your Gmail address. It should work fine now. -
We had to replace my husbands iphone. Everything but our photos have transferred to the new phone. I made sure that the new device is showing up in find my iphone. I have turned on photo stream on all devices. Why aren't they streaming to new phone?
Only photos taken in the last 30 days are transferred using Photo Stream.

Email is not included with the backup, and the same for the actual apps and music. A record of the apps and music is included which must be re-downloaded again which takes time depending on how many apps and music and the type of internet connection at the time.
Are all apps and music in your iTunes library on your computer? If so, transferring the content from there via the iTunes sync process will be faster. -

You should be able to download your previously purchased music from your iTunes app on your phone.
Be sure you are signed in to the AppleID with which you purchased your music.
When you go on to your iTunes app, along the bottom bar, tap on "More." Then tap "Purchased." Then select the music you want to download. It should download from there.

Connected my current iphone to i tunes. it syncd old contacts from previous job and previous phone to new phone and deleted all my new ones. tried to do back up from earlier restore in i tunes but there only seem to be back ups from my old phone not the new one prior to its first sync...thanks for your reply and input but, Im not sure if it was former or latter that I did, however I do know that I named this latest i phone differently and would have been OK with and expected expected old contacts to be added to the new ones I have recently added directly onto the new phone since I have had it rather than just the old one. I did try the undue/ unsync but this just seemed to remove all the old backed up ones just added leaving contacts empty? Clearly its my error, but what can be done to restore setting back to time before I connected today? earlier reset points on itunes show as 2 years ago and relate to old phone.

Yesterday, I updated (6.01) both my phone and my computer's iTunes at the same time. I was thinking that was iTunes v11, but maybe it was 10.5, didn't pay close enought attention. All the music was removed from the phone's iPod, and all of the music extracted from my CDs onto iTunes went away as well, although the purchased music stayed. Unplugging and resynching from the computer did not cause the music to re load on the phone. From reading various other discussions, I think that I am missing several tabs from the iTunes header, specifically "Devices". One fellow mentioned Devices/Music/SyncMusic as a fix, but after several minutes of searching for hidden buttons, there just isn't one on my iTunes. Help!!
Ctrl + B puts the top menu in place.
View > Show Sidebar the devices when connected appear in the left hand window.
Select your device and on the right hand side selecth the music page option. Tick Sync Music and then either sync it all if you have space or sync selected playlists etc.
Select the Artists, Playlist, Albums Genre's you want and click apply bottom right -
Old version of iTunes on laptop won't transfer music to my new iPhone.

I'm transferring from an iPhone 4S to a 5s. Once I sign into my account, Choose a backup date the next screen is asking me for my password to an email that is not mine. Funny thing is the email address is a friend of mine.
