hi there i have been trying to download the new i tunes to my laptop but as i get near the end a msg box comes up saying windows installer is not working contact support or vendor is this a problem with i tunes or windows any help will be greatly appreciated many thanks dave

How are you connected to the internet - through a wireless router and cable modem?
Are you downloading from the itunes DL page, and choosing SAVE instead of run?

Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/APSDaemon.dll/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?

I'm glad I was able to help. I kind of wish mine hadn't worked because I ended up being one of the "lucky" individuals where my phone didn't restore from the backup and I lost all of my contacts, calendar appts, notes, etc. It took me an extra 2 hrs last night to rebuild the next month worth of appts and try to rebuild my contact list from my yahoo contacts. Oh well. I will be getting an android at my next upgrade. I'm tired of all of the BS that comes with owning an iPhone.

I have just bought a new i pod Nano and have tried on many occasions to download i Tunes 7.0.1 to my laptop,and every attempt comes with the same result download failed.could anyone help please.
go to the download section of the i pod web site and select download i tunes ; it then comes up with run or save itunes.setup.exe?what should i select?and i have selected both and it gets to about 98/99% completion an says it has failed .It says "the publisher could not be verified.are you sure you want to run this software?i select run and it says C:\Documents and settings\Steven\Desktop\iTunesSetup.exe is not valid Win32 application>whats going on?

i got a nano last yr for xmas. this yr i got a newer 30gb ipod. i have itunes 6 and it works for my old ipod but it wont work for the new ipod. the new i pod says i need itunes 7.0 but it wont download. i save itunes and when i press the setup icon it wont work. i have been trying to use this ipod for 3 weeks now and it wont work. what am i to do????????? do they send out itunes 7.0 on a disc????

Just bought a new i pod Nano and have tried many times to download i Tunes 7.0.1 and it wont complete the download.It starts the process by asking do you want to save or run i Tunes.setup?which should i do?and then it gets to 99% completion and says something is invalid?
Any help with solving this problem would be much appreciated.

I-tunes wont download! Help

So i recently plugged in my 3GS into my normal computer as usual for a sync. After the sync was complete, so error occurred and erased all the data i had on my phone. Fine, i figure since my info is syncd, i can restore to natural settings and reload all the data again. I Got an error that read, "The iphone could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (9)."
So i read on apple, that maybe i need to update my i tunes software, as i did i recieved another error message reading"THE FOLLOWING APPLICATIONS ARE USING FILES THAT NEED TO BE UPDATED BY THIS INSTALLER". Support said to update InternetExplorer, and i did. Nothing changed!
Any Ideas out there peeps?

After upgrading i-tunes and getting the crazy spinning i-con i managed to sort that problem but ever since i cant download any podcasts or purchase music i get a message reading your are not connected to the internet or the url is incorrect etc etc. Anyone any ideas?

Seems like i tunes wont download onto imac

i just got a imac. so i deleted itunes from it hoping to get itunes from my old lap top onto imac. but now after downloading itunes 11 i cant find it on imac. and when i download it i get a thankyou window immediatly

iTunes the app should be in your Applications folder.
How were you expecting your old Mac tunes to show up in the new Mac?

Have you disabled your firewall/internet security/pop-up blockers.. any of the various softwares that keep you from doing anything?
Are you trying to download the itunes software or songs from the itunes music store? If you are trying to download the software, the url is:

If your browser can't find it you probably have some software installed on your computer blocking the site. or a virus...

It's a bug that has been there for years.
There are workarounds, but you have to do them every time an album gets split. And that will happen every time you change an artist name or an album name (whether it's to change it to proper capitalization, or other reasons). There is no permanent solution.
Workaround #1:
1. Select all the tracks from the album
2. Right click and select "Get Info"
3. Change the album name by deleting, let's say, the last letter and press "OK"
4. Change the album name back.
Workaround #2:
1. Select all the tracks from the album
2. Right click and select "Get Info"
3. Change the artist name by deleting, let's say, the last letter and press "OK"
4. Change the artist name back.
Workaround #3:
1. Select all the tracks from the album
2. Right click and select "Get Info"
3. Go to "Options"
4. Check (or uncheck, if it's already check) the "Part of a compilation" box and press "OK"
P.S. Some smart person moved this thread from the "iTunes U" forum to the "iTunes for Mac" forum. But the OP clearly said he runs iTunes on Windows.

I keep getting the same error message when trying to subscribe to a podcast or purchase music from the i-tunes store saying you have entered a wrong url and you are not connected to the internet when i cam check and listen to the songs on the store or play the podcast! I need anyone to help get i-tunes back to recognize its on-line to sort this problem out.
