I'm having a simialr problem except that itunes will work for awhile and then stops working. I click on a track in my library and the play pause icon toggles, but the track does not begin to play. I can drag the diamond on the progress bar or use the fast forward / rewind controls and the daimond responds, but the track will not play. Happens regardless of the source I select. Shutting down itunes and re-starting itunes does not solve the problem. I have to re-boot to get ti going again.

  • Wont play songs on ITunes

I cant play songs on Itunes because it says File cant be found and a lot of the songs like this have a ! next to them. Can anyone help?

I'm not quite sure why you think you need to listen to a song in order to change the wrong info.
You should just be able to right click on any song and select "get info" then click on "info" and then change the tag information.
What happens when you try to play the song in iTunes?

  • Help mini wont play songs

I am not dissing your post but you are expecting to get an immediate answer, when there are hundreds of people here who are in the same position you are. I don't see them posting every 2 hours.
Look who's talking about lecturing, the one who told me to back off when I was trying to help you. I'm not helping nobody with that attitude. You wait for someone to show up and help you so guess what?? You are going to wait even longer now!!

  • HELP ME- ipod mini wont play songs!

i have rescently moved houses and had to load my ipod mini on to a new computer and new i tunes list. I re loaded all my music on to the new list and transfered my ipod to factory settings to wipe all my old music. But when i went transfer all of my music to my ipod everything went bad!
my ipod says it has the songs on it but when i go to play them it plays none of them and just skips them all! Also when my ipod is connected to itunes i cant play the songs that are said to be in my ipod, but all the songs in my library play perfectly! (which are the same as the ones in my ipod)
please help me im going crazy!!!

    Hello Anna,
Have you any tracks purchased from the iTunes Music Store? Did you authorise the new computer: About iTunes Music Store Authorisation and Deauthorisation you could also have a look here: Troubleshooting songs that skip on iPod
One last thing, when your iPod is connected to iTunes and you try to play it through the computer do you get Grey text when you look at the content and lock symbol at the bottom of the screen? This would mean that your iPod is set to "automatically update songs and playlists". . If you want to access your iPod directly, play it through your iTunes, connect it to a second computer etc. you just need to change the update method to "Manually manage songs and Playlists" in the iPod preferences. • 4 itune libraries are authorized to an old account; my ipad is linked to new account but wont play songs from old account_how to solve?

one very old  1st gen mbp (grampa( must not upgrade past itunes 8 or it doesnt recognize my ipod shuffle.  it's running tiger 10.4.11
the macbook from 2009 runs snow leapoard as does the mac mini.  they both recognize the new iopd nano and have itunes 10. neither recognizes the old ipod shuffle
all 3 are linked to a dead account, which doesnt even have a password.  so i cant buy songs.  it just has a death grip on songs i want to share . it was an aol account, which i havent used im years, but it appears in the itunes store.
the ipad 2 is running snow leopard, it is linked to my new mobile me id.  when i tried to import songs purchased with the old account, the ipad was not authorized to play them...even though the songs are on hard drives and ipods.  AND purchased legally by me -- just under an old account.
also --an extra mac seems to be authorized -- i'm up to my quota of 5 wit the 5th mac not authorized yet!  --is there a way to determine which mac is authorized twice?
thank you so much for your help.

  • NANO wont play songs... resets and apple logo comes up

I just bought a new 4GB nano and I am having problems playing the tracks I have copied. When I try to play any music, the screen goes black then the apple logo comes up for two seconds. Ive had no problem opening up my photos, or address/ical data, I only have trouble with my music files. Ive updated my software with the 2006-03-23 updater and have tried to restoring my nano twice already. Can anyone help me get my nano up and running?

So I also just bought a new 4GB nano and I am having the same problem. It started after I loaded my music on to the iPod, then found that the music was there but the "Music" option didn't appear in the main menu ( could however shuffle songs). I changed the "Menu Settings" to turn on "music" and off "Photos" (I don't use my iPod for photos.)First it took several tries for the iPod to accept my menu changes. Then, when "Music" finally showed up on the menu, I selected it and the screen went dark, the apple logo showed up, and boom back to the main menu without the "Music" option.
I restored the iPod, got "Music" to appear on the menu, and was able to select it. Everything was fine until I tried to take "Photo" off of the menu. Then repeat of the same problem. Ok so maybe the obvious answer is to leave "Photo" on the Main Menu, but I don't like the idea of a brand new product not working properly.
And, I must confess I am a bit disapointed in the service and tech help options for this issues. After all these years of supporting, and defending Apple, when I finally have a problem -- no help? I don't relish spending my 1 phone call for a product that was defective from the start. My phone company (which is truly evil)is more helpful. If anyone out there has either solved this issue, or discovered a way to resolve the problem, please, please post.

  • TS1424 I downloaded the latest Pink album and it wont play song 2

latest Pink album states that song two is an album only song. I purchased the whole album not sure why it won't load?
Also on another album I purchased only half of the first song loaded...
    can someone help...

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

  • Updated iPod wont play songs

I had to Restore my iPod and lose all my music. Now I can add songs to my iPod through iTunes but the iPod cannot play them when disconnected. Please help!
    I have a 3G, 20Gb, windows iPod.

Assuming the songs play in iTunes on the computer
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
