I turned off my iPod touch and later tried to turn it on again and got a blank screen. Now I just get white or a blank screen. Screenshot and voice control work and it responds to charging. I already tried resetting it.

It was fine a few hours ago and isn't working now.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: How to back up
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Turning off the iPod touch without losing play counts?

When I turn off my iPod touch at night, some play counts are lost. Some podcasts get reverted to their "unplayed" status as well. How can I prevent this?

No, it's not. The problem went away for a few days, but now my iPod only remembers the last five (or so) things I played and reverts all the other stuff I played to their previous play count.
I'm using firmware 1.1.4, by the way.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Need help turning off my Ipod touch, I tried holding the power and home button, nothing turns it off.  I also cannot adjust the volume.  Can anyone help?

Im looking for someone to help me out with my Ipod.

Plug your iPod into your computer go to the iPod summary tab:,
    Then click restore:
    Hope this helps.
    It should fix the problem,
but it takes about 30 minutes.
You will have to sync your media back to your iPod.

  • Ipod touch will not won't turn off

How do u turn off an iPod touch? Holding down the off button isn't working. I also noticed that I can't adjust the volume using the outer buttons either.

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely.  Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

  • HT1349 how do i take the dis able off my ipod touch

what do i do to get the disable off my ipod touch ??????

If the phone says "iPhone is disabled" conncet it to your computer, hold down on both the sleep/wake (top button) and home button (circle button) for about 30 seconds, when you see the apple let go of the top and continue holding the home button. This will put your device in recovery mode and you can restore it. This is your only option if the phone is disabled.

    Hi Alskfjgh,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The following information will explain how to erase all of the content from your iPod touch:
iOS: Understanding 'Erase All Content and Settings'
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2110
You can remove all settings and information from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch tapping "Erase All Content and Settings" in Settings > General > Reset.
To remove all content and settings from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
If you wish to recover the data again, ensure that you have an iCloud or iTunes backup and that it is up to date.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Erase all Content and Settings.
When you select to "Erase All Content and Settings," the process can take from a few minutes to several hours. The time this process takes will vary by iOS device.
I hope this information helps ....
    Have a great day!
    - Judy

  • My ipod touch 5th generation will not turn on and the home button doesn't work. what do i do?

Hello my name is Leslie and i would like to ask you guys a question on how to fix my ipod or what is wrong with it. My ipod touch 5th generation will not turn on and the home button doesn't work. what can i do to fix it ?

Has the home button worked in the past, or is this been something that hasn't worked for some time? The only way to reset the device is with the sleep/wake (power) and home buttons together. Without it, you would have to wait until the battery dies and then plug it in to try and reset it. The Home button is used for several user troubleshooting steps. Without it, you cannot perform a reset, put the device into recovery mode, or place it in DFU mode. You need to get the home button repaired.

thanks for the reply.  guess i'll have to do that.  apple, not really happy with what you've done with this latest update.  have not been able to enjoy my music in my car since the update.  most of us dont mind changes that progress timely, but this was much more than just a progression.  this was a complete change.  and not a good one, at all.  thanks to the two people that replied.  appreciate it.
