I type the password in for my Apple Id account and when I go to the Apple Store when I make a purchase, it doesnt work?

When I go to sign in, the password works for the settings. But when I go to the Itunes store and purcahse a song, it does not read the password. So my question is why or how can I make a purchase or get this fixed?

What error message are you getting?
Try resetting the password.
After you reset the password you have to go to Settings>iTunes and App stores and sign out and sign back in with the new passwords before you can make a purchase.

Where is the option for using my account balance when I make purchases?

I have a balance of $15.29 on my itunes account, and when i make purchases the option to spend this account balance is not available. The only options are to use a credit card. When I choose "none" for payment type, I am blocked from making the purchase. No other options. I am being cheated out of my own money!

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, phoning AppleCare and asking for the Account Security team, and filling out and submitting this form.

My Iphone 4 is telling me the same thing and I believe I figured out what the problem is. I had some fraudulent charges on my itunes account, so I call my bank and disputed the charges. She spent $106.00 buying stuff. Now I have to call the bank and tell them to release the hold and pay Itunes. I'm hoping this solves the problem. I am having the same problem now also. It happened after I updated my version. I have NEVER had this problem before as a windows user and have had iTunes for 5 years. So, I would have to say it is an Apple problem. I have not changed anything on my computer. I still have Internet Explorer and I have not even updated windows. The only thing I updated was iTunes. If the amount of the purchase is close to $21.07, then you need to take into account taxes may be added.
If you go beyond the credit from a gift card the balance will be billed to your credit card account.
