I have followed the steps provided by apple to restore an iPod touch. It is disabled due to having the wrong password entered too many times. When I get part way through the restore process on my computer it pops up a box saying that it can't restore until I enter the passcode into the iPod. I have tried this same process over 5 times now and keep gutting the same results. It is my kids iPod and he has only had it since September. Someone please help me before I throw the thing through the window and my kid strangles me!!! Thanks!
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

After my friend locked me out of my iPhone with too many wrong password attempts I restored my iPhone via recovery mode and now it is showing that picture of a cable leading towards itunes, and itunes says the sim is not supported but it is the original sim. How do I fix this?
Something went wrong with the update, this can and does happen with every version of iOS.
There is nothing wrong with the update.
Simply restore the device via iTunes on the computer.
If iTunes is stating it will take hours to update, that indicates an extremely slow Internet connection and is likely the reason the OTA update failed. -
the password on my ipod was disabled and says plug into itunes. when i plug it into itunes it says the ipod cant connect because it is password locked.

For how to restore:
iTunes: Restoring iOS software
To restore from backup see:
iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store -

Hi,
Due to my brother locking me out of my ipod touch I had to wait an hour to log in again. Unfortunately when I did this, I, again put in the wrong password twice more, each time locking me out for a further 60 minutes. On my 3rd attempt to log in the wrong password was entered again. This time though instead of logging me out for another 60mins it now tells me to "connect to itunes" but I have no idea how to do this and I am now unable to use my ipod. Please help.See Here > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212

Hello, I am and IIN Intitute of Integrative Nutrition in New York student. My iPAD 2 is part of my school material and was uploaded with all Videos and Audio classes for the whole program. I recently typed in my passwork incorrectly and disabled my iPad it is giving me the message " connect to i-tunes". I am afraid to loose my lectures. Could anyone help me with some information please? Thank you very much. Wouga22
If you do not have a backup you are going to lose everything on your iPad and even if you do have one, you may still be out of luck.
You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.
Read this very carefully before you proceed. Sometimes iTunes will allow you to restore the iPad without having to use recovery mode, but if you need to use recovery mode and don't have a backup, that is where you may have a problem.

If you need recovery mode ....
Recovery Mode Instructions
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
