I unable to play a song but can see all songs in my library. Can anyone help? I have uploaded my complete library into itunes match. I have just downloaded itunes to a new PC. I can see all songs but none will play. They are all there but are not highlighted. They show up grey and when the play arrow is pressed nothing happens.
Can anyone help please. I need my life back.

The problem is that when I share my library (iTunes 11) to my iPad 2 (IOS 6), on "Artists" only a few appears, and they are wrong. For example I can see artist "Yes", but with "Zero 7" albums covers. Also most of artists does not appear.
I use Windows XP (waiting to my new iMac..) and I'm afraid that when I have my iMac I will have the same problem when porting library from PC to Mac.
This also happen when I tried to export my library to my new computer using a copy in an external hard disk.
In iTunes I see all songs correctly labeled with artist, album and cover.
How could I arrange this?

It worked for my, now when i connect to my iTunes librari from the iPad, I can see all artists.
I guess library was corrupted.

Help! On my new iPhone 4S, I can see all of my music and vidoes that I downloaded from itunes that I had previously purchased on my iPhone 4, BUT I can not play any of the songs! When I hit "play" from my 'albums' and 'playlist' or 'songs' it looks like it is going to play the song when the song screen comes up showing the album but then the screen starts flipping from album to album or song to song randomly. Then after flipping thru anywhere from 10-15 songs, it stops and goes back the previous page showing my list of music.... I have synched my phone, restored it and downloaded all of my music and videos. The only things I can get to play from my iPod on my iPhone 4S is my videos, no music. Can anyone help me? I have been trying to figure it out for days and I am a bit frustrated. Thanks in advance for any help I may receive.

I've synced my iphone with my pc and backed up too and when i go into music on my iphone i can see all the tunes listed on there including album covers etc but when i go to play one of the tunes nothing happens or sometimes the phone goes kind of crazy and seems to scroll through every album (visually) on the phone and then stop?! still without playing any actual music?
In the apple store they told me to un-sync music and then re-sync which i did but this hasn't worked. although when i had un-synced and went into my phone to check whether music had been removed it was still there (but still didn't play as described above)
so really i want to know either 1) how to properly delete all the songs from the phone and then re-install them or 2) just get them to sync properly!
Other info - i transfered itunes to a new pc recently and up until just now, i couldn't play these tunes on itunes on my PC, they opened in some terrible microsoft thing - but i just changed the file associations inside windows and now they play great - just not on my phone as described above - maybe this has something to do with the problem?
Also, this only applies to music copied from cd-> itunes on pc 1 ->itunes on pc 2-> iphone. songs purchased from itunes store work fine

Not true. The music and pic sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
You really should transfer everything from the old computer, or your backup copy of your computer. Since you do not have access to the old computer, then use your backup copy of the old computer.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy of your computer ( not good), then you would have to transfer itunes purchased as described earlier. Any other itunes content would be lost.
You can e-mail photo library pics to yourself, but they will not be of the original quality.
Before syncing, enter at least one unique contact and calendar entry on the computer. When you first sync, then you should get the option to merge the data.

Thanks. I have been using iTunes since its inception and have never had a problem...I'm using the latest version. The progress bar is the bar that moves when you're playing a song..it just won't start when I double click on a song,..have tried quitting, rebooting etc but nothing works. I had the Itunes store do this to one song out of three I downloaded. I went back to the Itunes store and reclicked on the song to download it again. It ran the download again and got the complete song this second time. Then I just resynced with my Itunes and all is fixed.

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:

Our I tunes is not allowing us to sync and update our music on any ipod. We can see our songs in music library but as soon as we plug ipod in to sync all songs have an "!" is next to them and it erased our ipods. How do you fix this?

When I use find file http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/30073/find-file (which does tend to find files that "Finder" can't), it's not coming up with any other itunes library files that have been modified in the past week, which I know it would have been - unfortunately, I don't have a very recent backup of the hard drive. It would be a few months old so it wouldn't have the complete library on it....any ideas? HT1848 I can see the songs that I purchased and it says downloaded but the songs can't be located on ITunes on my desktop.

My hard drive crashed and I moved my I Tunes library back from Carbonite but there are songs / albums that are missing! Lots of Exclamation points!
Anyway, I can see the songs and albums on my purchased list in the ITunes store page. They all say they are "downloaded" but ITunes on my computer can't find the songs.
I looked on my hard drive and the are not on the hard drive. How can I Re-Download to put these purchased songs back on my new hard drive? The songs are on my I Phone but I don't want to sync since it will strip them out of my phone too.
