I unplugged my iphone 3gs ios 5.1.1 and started playing..i played for about 2 hours,BUT the battery didnt change!!!...after about 4 hours,the phone suddenly shuts down...i recalebrated the battery (by hard reset)..but didnt help...so HELPPP PLZZZ!!!!!!!

Just a quick update with a couple more details before I go to work:
I left my phone plugged into the wall charger all night long but the Apple logo is still blinking on and off. However, when unplugged from the charger, the screen goes blank and the unit does not respond to pressing/holding the buttons at all. Likewise, flipping the mute switch does not cause the phone to vibrate as it normally would, which made me wonder if power was being disrupted somewhere else in the unit before the battery. I just finished disassembling the unit down to the battery, looked for any loose connections etc., and did spot a suspicious looking spot on top of the #5 ribbon connector that I had not taken notice of before in my first disassembly. I'll take a picture of it and post a link for your consideration later on today when I have a spare moment, although I fear the worst.

not reading on computeConnect your iPhone to a power source (computer, wall charger, etc) and hold down BOTH the power AND home buttons for about 10-15 seconds. If all goes well you should get an Apple logo. Try it even if you think it won't work, and patience is key: 10 seconds is alot longer than one might think.

MBP 17": Sudden shut down with plenty of battery, then battery warped
My battery warped while in the computer and I had a hard time getting it out. This was after my computer began shutting down without any warning while on battery power. I called my local Apple reseller this morning and was told to bring the computer and battery in so they could check it out. When I arrived, they told me that they had a simple test which they had to run on the computer with the warped battery inserted. Pass: no free replacement. Fail: Replace the battery for me.
The USB gadget they used indicated pass, so I was out of luck. In other words, they said that my battery tested "OK". "But it's warped!", I said. They agreed, but only offered to sell me a new one for $129.95 + tax. I said that I wanted to complain to Apple since the battery was obviously on the way to a more serious problem and might damage my MBP. They said that they would complain if they were me....
I was in a bind since I need to travel soon, so I bought a new battery.
The explanation was that Apple recognizes that there is a problem, but since my MBP/warped battery passed the required Apple test, they couldn't replace it for free. The battery was so warped that I my computer wobbled on my desk! This is crazy! Those of you who have been reporting the sudden shut down had better be very careful. You may be on your way to a potentially catastrophic event in which the battery failure does serious damage to your MBP. I've read some real horror stories about this on the net.

I put it in the box that the new one came in and intended to recycle it. Then I forgot about it and looked at the box just now. The other side of the battery also warped to the point that I couldn't get the box out of the sleeve that fits around it without tearing it (which I did).
Pretty scary looking. Silver pouches (cells?) exposed and deformed. Afraid of the thing at this point. A fire hazard?
Out of the house in a can it went until tomorrow morning when I will get rid of it legally.
BTW, my deformed and potentially hazardous battery only had a cycle count of 137 when all this fun started....

Appreciatte your HelpYeah, I hope it is just a firmware-problem. AND that Nokia will release an update soon. The version on my phone now is 021.013, and it is from July. A firmware update is long overdue now, especially after all the other problems reported with this phone. And btw I have turned the phone on and off several times without this helping to fix the radio-issue...
I guess I will have to return the phone soon, if Nokia is unable to release a fixed firmware. -
Computer suddenly shuts down! No "low battery" message HELP!
Ok, about two weeks ago I plugged by computer into a desk lamp at a hotel. Appearately there was a voltage issue and I heard a pop then my computer blacked out! I had to restart and when I did all my "stuff" was gone! I was able to recover my documents, etc but it was a little scary! Ever since then I have to keep my power cord plugged in. I can unplug it but it will calculate my battery life as 1 hour then will completely shut down in the next 10-20 minutes. And when I plug it back in I have to completely restart. What do I do now?

I have iphone 6, my son has iphone 5c. My hotspot is turned off. My son gets option to tether to my hotspot, if he clicks on that then it remotely turns my hotspot on! Can other iphone users do the same? Worried about other people using all my data.
The password for the hotspot will remembered by the devices that have connected to your hotspot.
If you can't reset the network settings on those devices, which would also delete all network passwords on those, just chafe the hotspot password on your phone in Settings/Hotspot/Wi-Fi password. -
IPhone 3GS (iOS 5) will not sync, stuck on *backing up* in iTunes 10.6.3.25
I recently updated iTunes to the latest update for Windows, since then, whenever I connect my phone and try to sync it just gets stuck in *backing up* for ages.. if I leave it it will be in backing up for hours. I cannot sync my phone or add any content now. I've been told to try and click the *X* in the progress window at the top of iTunes - but doing this does nothing but freeze iTunes for a few minutes - then it continues to *back up*... frustrating. Can anyone help?

Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if the problem has been resolved.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

I did yet another restore for month long symptom now. Once again I discover I lost my MMS camera icon in texting. My phone shuts down or reboot with low charge. I shut it off or leave it off only to turn it on again an hour later and have it show more than 70% charged.
I am still 5 months away before my contract expires and I plan to upgrade to the new generation of iPhone. I don't really have the money to take it in as I found out I am being laid off in five months as the company is leaving California for Arkansas.
Anyone else experiencing similar symptoms?My 3G will also spontaneously reboot. Typically, this seems to happen when the battery level goes below around 50%. The screen will go dark and I'll get the swirling circular graphic that indicates the phone is shutting down. Then the Apple logo comes on, and it seems to take a very long time before the phone is functional again. I took the phone to an Apple store in April. A "Genius" connected it to an iMac and ran, what I suppose, was Apple diagnostic software. She pronounced it OK, both phone and battery. She suggested I restore the phone. I did. No change. It stills crashes. It seems to happen when I'm using the phone, not just using an App. However, it has crashed when I've tried to use the camera also.

may u halp me ?Assuming that the battery isn't empty (and it can take 10 to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the equivalent of a reboot.

Try to backup and restore you device in itunes...restoring the device is like removing the iOS software off the device and re-add in a newer software, after you have restore you device, MAKE SURE YOU SET UP YOUR DEVICE LIKE A NEW DEVICE, DONT NOT RESTORE FROM BACKUP!!... give the device a chance to use the newer software and see if the issue still persisting, if the issue still on going then its would be a hardware issue.
Call Apple Care and see if your device is still under warranty to get it replace -
