I unsubsribed from Get Glue and now every time I open Firefox, Get Glue opens on the page and I cannot get rid of it. I like Firefox and would like to use it, but the problem with Get Glue coming up each time I open Firefox causes me not to use Firefox.
Don't know what to add. How do I get rid of Get Glue and have Firefox open by itself?
This sounds more like a Windows question, than a Firefox question. When you say that an image shows up every time you open your computer, do you mean every time you turn on your computer, or every time you start Firefox?

Problem with having to enter password each time to gain access to network.
Hi there. I have just setup an airport express——connected to our dsl modem——as our only wireless network in a small flat. We just have two computers connecting wirelessly: my macbook pro (10.5.7) and my wife's powerbook (10.4.11). A very simple setup.
A few changes I made, using airport utility: I changed the MAC Address Access Control to timed so that both of our computers are on the approved MAC address list with "everyday, all day" access.
I also made it a closed network. And I changed the WPA Group Key timeout to under 12 minutes.
Other than than I left the settings as-is.
I was able to get both of our notebooks connected properly and everything seemed dandy as we were both online.
Here's the problem: if I leave the network or power down (macbook pro), I'm told that my machine can't find the proper network once I boot back up. I have to manually enter the name of the network and enter the password each time in order to get access——then I'm back online again. My wife's powerbook, however, doesn't have this same problem. And I've saved the network's password to both our keychains, so I'm not sure why this is happening.
Any thoughts? I'd love to be able to simply power up and be connected like a normal human being.jph_25, welcome to the discussion area!

On your MacBook Pro, you might check a few things:
Open System Preferences and click on Network
Click on your AirPort connection on the left to highlight it and then click on the Advanced tab at the lower right of the pane.
Make sure that there is a check mark next to "remember any network this computer has joined"
Also check to make sure that your network shows up in the Preferred Networks list and that it is listed at the top of any other networks you make have shown.
You would also want to make sure there were NOT check marks next to:
"Disconnect from any wireless networks when logging out" and
"Require Administrator password to control AirPort" -
When I am done browsing I close the browser by clicking on the X. Since I use Window 7 I always get the message "A script on this page may be busy or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, or you can continue to see if the script will complete"

William <i><email removed - c></i>That will be due to an extension that is not working properly, possibly the Better Privacy extension. To test this, if you have Better Privacy installed try disabling it to see if the error stops appearing. To do that, in the Tools menu select Add-ons, then go to the Extensions panel, select Better Privacy in the list, then click on Disable. re-start Firefox to complete the process, then see if the error message appears.
If you do not have Better Privacy installed, repeat this process with the other extensions until you find the culprit. First check any extensions with the initials bp.
If it is Better Privacy, it should work with Firefox 3.6.13 on Windows 7. Make sure you have the latest version, also try uninstalling it and re-installing it, this may help if your version has become corrupted. -
my ipod was in recovery mode and fixed it. i can use it. but the problem is whenever am i connect it with itunes it says IPOD is in recovery mode even after recover is done. i cant sync ipod rite now. it showing same msg again. nyone knows wat to do plz??
I did the restore and it cleared and reset the iPod but after it finished the same error came up. I tried this 3 times. Also it no longer shows up as a drine in My Computer.
if it's relentlessly doing that to you, it's plausible that the message is being caused by a Windows drive letter confusion. (that's consistent with the disappearance for My Computer, too.)

you cannot keep up with all of the interfaces 'cause they do not even allow you to use the older os.
You should be able to upgrade to Mountain Lion via the App Store applicaiton on your Macbook Air. You do not have to upgrade, but it should be an option.
I can't even get an ichat acct 'cause, help?
iChat can use AOL Instant Messenger accounts (they are free), iChat can use Google Talk (Jabber) accounts (actually any Jabber based chat service). And if you upgrade to Mountain Lion, you shoul be able to get an Apple iCloud account that can be used with the Messages replacement for iChat (think of Messages as being iChat renamed, with additional features).
Oh and my battery very close to a year after buying it, which is one of the reasons I was so called to it, the battery life. Well, having it stripped down to minimal usage, while working on nothing crazy, I could be cordless from nevver reahing 100% anymore, just under that, but gets to 20 percent in about 3 hours. No audio, no video, light low, it bothers me anyway. Please, this is also a huge problem.

I know that generally after about 2 years of use (my use, not yours) I find that my batteries have very little life left in them (I frequently have my devices plugged in, so running fully on batteries only is most likely less than yours).
You can have your battery replaced by Apple (for a fee) or by an authorized Apple repair facility. -

Vitas DijokasWell, it seems waiting is not my strong suit..! I renamed a javascript file called recovery to sessionstore. This file was in the folder sessionstore-backups I had copied from mozilla 3 days ago, when my tabs were still in place. I replaced the sessionstore in mozilla's default folder with the renamed file and then started mozilla. And the tabs reappeared as they were 3 days ago!
So there goes the tab problem. But again when I started mozilla the window saying "a script has stopped responding" appeared, this time the script being: chrome//browser/contenttabbrowser.xml2542

I tried to download some photos from a corrupted CD and now every time I try to open iPhoto the frame pops up but nothing will load. I just get the spinning color wheel. Any ideas???
What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

I still have problems with getting my website online. I have defined my server. Then I did the test and there was a connection via FTP. I put my files on the external server and there is a connection with the external server. But when I check to see my website online (with Firefox, Explorer, Chrome browser) I always get the message 'Forbidden, You don't have permission to access / on this server.' it's well known, that in all these cases you describe I'm not a friend of a detailed Troubleshooting (I see Nancy#s smile already).
To be able to be independent in all this things It is one of the reasons why I prefer an external FTP program. The difficulties with which you have to fight encourage me in this opinion, not least because we always search for experts, we don't charge a "jack of all trades".
To manage several websites or to upload my files and sometimes for the opposite way, for a necessary download from my server or to use a "a site-wide synch", I'm using FileZilla. It simply looks easier for me to keep track of all operations precisely and generate or reflect easily the desired tree structure.
Above all, FileZilla has a feature (translation from my German FileZilla) called "compare file list". Here it's possible to use file size or modification time as a criterion. There is also the possibility to "hide identical files", so that only these files which you want to redact remain visible.
And even if it means you have to install a new program, I am convinced that there is an advantage. Here is the link to get it and where you can read informations about how it works:

I just downloaded the new version of Firefox and now every site I used to use such as Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube show "This Connection Is Untrusted". Even when I do accept the risks the site no longer looks the way it's looked for years. Twitter doesn't even give me the option to accept the risks at all and shows this error (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer). I've tried resetting Firefox, I've checked the time and date, and I've removed and added Firefox to see if that would work. Nothing seems to be working so I can see the sites the way they normally would be instead of "coded". Can anybody help me please?!!! Thanks
ok, unfortunately the fiddler2.com issuer in certificates might be a sign of unwanted software present on your pc that is intercepting secure network traffic. please go into the system control panel and uninstall programs like BrowserSafeguard, BrowserSafe, SafeGuard or other software that sounds suspicious and didn't get installed by you intentionally.

Just moved my email from Entourage to Mail. Having real problems with getting my signatures to work properly despite sending email as Rich Text.
When adding in a small company logo to the signature, PC's / windows computers only receive signature and logo as attachments.
I've tried all possible fixes I can find including getting a PC user to format the logo but no joy. Has anyone experienced this and any ideas on a fix gratefully received.Send it as html so the signature is an image source URL

I want to burn my imovie to a dvd. All the help info says to use idvd but I can't get it to open. The applecare guy said idvd is no longer included in new macs, so why are all the instructions still saying to use it? Is one of the other software offerings, like dvd Cfreator for Mac, ok to use for this? What's the best one?
Please clarify what you mean by "you can't get it to open". Is iDVD on your system or not? If this is a new iMac, iDVD is no longer bundled with new Macs, so the application just isn't there and hence of course can't be opened. You can still purchase it as part of the retail iLife '11 box, though, if you want it, and it would be less expensive than DVD Creator (which I have no experience with), even though you'll get some redundant applications.

Having mail 4.5 issues- open mail and get a new features message that says in order to use the new features, I must import existing messages into the new version first in order to use mail 4.5. Just recently put in MAC OSX 10.6.7. Once it imports I am to click done to start using mail, but end up with the rainbow wheel of death and it also says you cannot use mail until the import is finished? Now What?
Is Mail still "spinning"? If it's been doing that for a while, I'd kill it, using either Activity Monitor or the OS X application picker. Then relaunch Mail and see what happens.
Two "by the ways":
1) Your system details mention an PPC iMac. Since a non-Intel Mac can't run OS X 10.6, you seem to have another Mac. You might want to consider updating your system details.
2) You seem to have been misled by the poor labeling of the message composition fields on this forum into trying to enter your entire post into the "subject" field. In the future, just enter a summary of your post there and the main text into the field below it. -

I have just got an iPad and I want the music to be transferred through my iPod touch using iCloud but I didn't get the music from iTunes so I don't think it will let me do it. Do you have any tips that could help me?
Only photos taken with the iPad, copied onto it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad - either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view.
Photos that were synced from a computer are deleted by moving/removing/de-selecting them from where they were synced from and then re-syncing. If you want to remove them all then normally you could just sync an empty folder (in terms of photos) to the iPad, but as you don't want to sync at the moment you can't do that.
You can reset the iPad back to factory settings and start from scratch with it : Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings -
