I have downloaded a film and want to burn it onto a dvd disc, how do i do this so that it will play in most DVD players?
I am just inserting blank dvd and going into finder and trying to burn disc, it looks as if it burns however does not play on a dvd player!!
please advise!
thanksBuy iDVD.
Yes, there are other programs that will put a movie on a DVD. I have tried most of the substitutes. None of them come anywhere near the ease-of-use and power of iDVD.
http://www.apple.com/findouthow/movies/idvd.html
With iDVD you can easily and quickly create DVDs with menus and graphics almost on the level of what Hollywood can do.
IDVD is easy to get. It is available on disk as part of iLife 11.
IDVD is a wonderful piece of software and well worth the low cost of $40. (works with all Mac OS 10.5 and newer.)

I have an iphone 3g that has been wiped. I want to restore back to factory settings. How do I do This?

When i plug it into the computer, Windows opens and says Found new hardware. Apple device in recovery mode. Then asks if i want to install software that it doesnt have. iTunes doesnt open at all. If I open iTunes, it still doesnt show up anywhere.
Windows can not identify that an iOS device is in recovery mode. Only iTunes can identify that.
What is the EXACT error message you're getting? -
I shut down my macbook and now while applications such as safari have been open for awhile, even while active, will automatically minimize and it take me back to the desktop. How do I fix this?
I should add that this has happened before and I feel like it was a quick un-toggling of a box in my settings, but I can not remember what to do.

AFTER.....!! I downloaded 4.0 it gave me a list of things on my computer that is not compatable with it to include my printer !!
I hate this new format also.
I need to go back to 3.6
how do I do this.
as 4.0 stinks......Both my husband and I hate the new 4.0 version. Who on earth wants to make extra clicks in order to get to their bookmarks. It is used to be right there and available. Hello....technology is not more clicks...it's fewer clicks. I am telling everyone I know not to download the new Firefox version. I want to go back. This version totally sucks the big one.

I have a generation 5 Nano iPod. I have created suggested playlists from the iTunes store using Genius. I want to move these playlists into the playlists in my library so they can be synced to my iPod. I don't seem to be able to do this, and can only listen to these Genius playlists on my computer. How do I transfer these?
On a 5th gen nano, you can actually create and listen to Genuis playlists on the iPod.
You can also set up automatic syncing to include Genius Playlists.
In iTunes, if the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar. In the sidebar, the Genuis playlists that you create are shown under GENIUS (not PLAYLISTS).
If you use automatic syncing, you set up the iPod's Music screen in iTunes (where the Sync Music checkbox is located). Genius playlists are shown on the iPod's Music screen, under Playlists, where you can select (checkmark) them as items to be synced to the iPod and maintained by iTunes.
If you use the manual method (with the Manually manage music and videos setting), there is no way to include the actual Genius playlists. However, you can create a new playlist manually on the iPod using iTunes. Then, drag the songs from a Genius playlist to that playlist on the iPod. -
the other version let me access my email on the homepage now i have to go to bookmarks...how do i get rid of this version???!!!
That sounds like the difference between the new Firefox home page '''about:home''' and the previous Google Search page which has '''GMail''' at the top if you used GMail.
You can change your home page so that it points to what you had before, which It would be something like:
* http://www.google.com/firefox?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official
Note on Google pages
* They won't show GMail at the top until you have gone to GMail
Directions to '''reset your home page''':
* http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/How to set the home page
More on Search and on Keyword Shortcuts
* [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/search.htm Search and Substitution Shortcuts especially for Firefox users]
* [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/kws.htm Firefox Keyword Shortcuts]
But I don't really understand why you or anyone else would want to use such a page for a home page, it is redundant. You have as many search engines as you want in the search bar, the default search is Google.
You can invoke '''GMail''', any search, any bookmark, any bookmarklet with a [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/kws.htm keyword shortcut] .
'''You're not stuck with how the toolbars have been changed''' in Firefox 4.0, '''this is Firefox''', you can '''customize''' it. That is why Firefox became so popular, you can customize it how you want it with Customize Toolbars, Extensions, Themes, Styles.
You can make '''Firefox 4.0.1''' look like '''Firefox 3.6.17''', see numbered items '''1-10''' in the following topic [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 look like 3.6)] -
How do I upgrade from OS X 10.5.8 to OS X Lion?
You can upgrade from 10.5 to 10.6 with no problems. Any program that runs under 10.5 should run under10.6. See this list for compatibility with 10.6: http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/ You might have to upgrade some drivers for printers, etc.... And you will have to install Rosetta if you have any third party Power PC applications http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/snow_leopard_installing_rosetta/
You can order a Snow Leopard 10.6 install disk for $29 from the Apple Store as long as you have at least 1gb of RAM and 5gb of free space on your hard drive. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY
To upgrade your iLife and iWork. If you only want iPhoto or other single apps from iLife '11 you can get them from the App Store after you've upgraded to 10.6.6. iPhoto, iMovie or Garage Band for $15 each and Pages, Keynote or Numbers from iWork '09 for $20 each.
Once you are at 10.6.8 you can buy Lion for $29 from the App Store if you have at least a model 2,1 MacBook. Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly.
As for third party programs see this list for compatibility with 10.7 http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
Also Lion doesn't run any Power PC programs. To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up select Applications under Software. Then look under Kind to see if any of your applications are listed as Power PC. Universal and Intel will run under Lion.
Before Mac switched to Intel processors they used Power PC processors from 1994 to 2005. Power PC 601 through 604, G3, G4 and G5. Applications written for the Power PC processors need the application called Rosetta to run on Intel processors. This was part of the Operating System in 10.4 and 10.5 but was an optional install in 10.6. With 10.7 Lion Apple dropped all support for Power PC applications. -
I recently closed my yahoo account which my icloud was linked to and I want to change it all to my new email account how can i do this
This explains how to change your ID: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5621. After changing your ID you will need to go to Settings>iCloud, delete the existing account (which only deletes it from your device, not from iCloud), then sign back in with the new ID. To avoid losing photo stream photos, save them to your camera roll before deleting the existing account.
If you are signed into your account on your Mac, you will need to go to System Preferences>iCloud, sign out, then sign back in with the new ID. -
I have an old Mac that has my original CS2 on it. I am having trouble because the activation server is down for CS2, but I have the discs. I'm confused about why I can't still download the software I purchased years ago. Please help!
CarissaCS2 cannot be installed on modern Macs (which use Intel processors) running OS X Yosemite (10.10).
CS2 is a PowerPC application which can only run on older PowerPC Macs.
Intel Macs can run PowerPC apps but only when Rosetta is installed. Apple discontinued Rosetta in OS X 10.7.
Rosetta (software) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
To run CS2 on older PowerPC Macs, you must install the non-activation version of CS2 and use the new serial number provided by Adobe
Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3
