I updated Adobe flash and when I re-opened firefox all of my bookmarks, add-ons, extensions, history were gone. How do I retrieve?
When updated Adobe flash, I was asked to close the browser window. I complied and when I re-opened, firefox was different and all of my stuff was gone.
go to Tools Menu -> Add-ons -> Extensions section -> Disable and Remove the add-ons that look unwanted or suspicious -> Enable trustworthy add-ons -> Restart Firefox.

I get a 'blocked plug-in' message when trying to view video, such as youtube. I have updated adobe flash, and have enabled plug-ins - still doesn't work.
Hey reslosson,
The article linked below provides more information about the blocked plug-in alert that you are seeing and will walk you through the process of changing the security settings in Safari.
Safari: "Manage Website Settings…" lets you enable the Java web plug-in website-by-website

Why when I attempt to update Adobe Flash, it ask me to remove Firefox.
Using Aurora 13.0a2, on Ubuntu 11.10, cannot play flash with the current Gnash plugin; when I attempt to update Adobe Flash, it ask me to remove Firefox.
Not sure if there are any set default restrictions which you may have to override. Also, I think Synaptic should be offering at least Flash 11, unless perhaps the default Firefox that came with Ubuntu is 64-bit. If you downloaded the Aurora zip package from Mozilla, you can try to create a '''plugins''' folder inside the extracted firefox folder as outlined in the [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/release-note/readme-flash-player-linux.html Adobe Readme]. This way you would have the regular Firefox from Ubuntu with Gnash as well as the future Firefox with Flash and possibly Gnash. Please note that it would be a good idea to [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Managing-profiles create another profile] (for eg. aurora) and switch between the two profiles for Firefox and Aurora to prevent possible corruption of personal data. The Ubuntu forums would also be very helpful.

Have recently updated Adobe Reader and now unable to open downloaded documents - Message received is could not open 'file name.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded). When I check the file it shows Zero KB downloaded but the file appears - any suggestions?
Obviously your download was not successful.
What is your operating system? How exactly do you download such files? -

using macbook pro with os 10.7.5, was recommended to update adobe flash while in firefox (22.0). did so, which required closing and restarting firefox during flash update. when complete, firefox opened automatically to adobe flash window and restore previous session was grayed out. can't figure out how to find and restore the tabs i had been using. related questions and answers don't find a solution. my settings are all normal and do not appear to have any relation to the problem. rather, it seems to be the closing and reopening of firefox associated with the updating of flash that nuked any memory of my previous session. is there a solution?
i found my own solution to my problem! first of all, DON'T QUIT FIREFOX -- to be sure the current undesirable session doesn't become the "previous session". instead, open a new window (command-N). in my case, it opened to my usual default url and, while in that window (either before or after closing the first browser window that had opened automatically after updating adobe flash), the "restore previous session" option in history menu reappeared! clicked on it and, from then on, things just worked normally.

I don't seem to be able to download the Install or Uninstall for Adobe Flash. Flash won't play because it's not up to date. I have checked system preferences and they are correct. What can I do to update Adobe Flash?

I have update adobe flash, and it still crashes, why can't y'all fix the problem?
everyday sometimes 3 or 4 times firefox crash....i have updated adobe flash.....
Mozilla doesn't make Flash, Adobe does, so it's up to them to fix their stuff.
I'm still using Shockwave Flash 10.1 r53.64 and don't have the crashing problems that to two newer 10.2 and 10.3 versions are having. But I am using WinXP, not Win7, so YMMV. -
I going purchase an HTC Merge soon and would like to know if Firefox v11 will fully support Adobe Flash and if I decide to use v10 right now would this method work https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-mobile-doesnt-support-flash?e=es&as=aaq if I wanted to watch flash videos on lets say on Vimeo's website also are there any plans for a Mobil version of Thunderbird? I'm a avid user of Thundrbird and would love to have on my Android phone.
Thanks that's what I thought I heard but wanted to make certain that it was true and its also nice to know that FFv10 works on Vimeo one last thing I did make a post about Mobil Thunderbird on the official TB support forums if you or anyone you know also would like to see TB for Mobile Devices go to my post.

By the way I also heard that FFv11 or v12 will have its own speed dial if so will it be like Josep del Rio's speed dial extension by that I mean were its fully customizable for example you could add new groups or decide how many rows/columns you want to have.

Some apps require Adobe Flash; however, when I attempt to upload the program, I receive message to the effect that my iPad (version 7.0) cannot support Adobe Flash, so I am unable to view some attachments sent. I just bought my iPad recently and am still figuring everything out. If there is some solution to my problem, I would appreciate being advised. Thanks.

Firefox never opens. It is trying but nothing seems to change, no matter how much time is allowed.
A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

I have uninstalled the flash player and installed it numerous times with no recognition by the Firefox plug-ins. I also have uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it as well. I have also restarted my computer several times as well. The flash player is certainly installed but not working on Firefox. Thanks in advance for your help.
James j,
You have a different problem. Your screenshot shows "The Adobe Flash plugin has crashed".

Firefox opens for 2 seconds then closes until it opens again ,with the link page, instead of my Home Page
I use Ubuntu 10.04 and I also get this problem when attempting to open a link through TBird 3.1.10. Firefox 4.0.1 '''opens to my homepage only'''. I have to physically put the link address in the address bar to go to the link.
