I updated iphoto and I cant see my videos

I update the OSX and with it the iphoto.  All my videos can´t be seen.  I have them in the iphoto libary but when I want to watch them a error message appears.  i open finder and go to the iphoto libary, and the videos are there but as photos.
How can I do to get back my videos??
Thks.
Tomas

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a solution.  We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
where is your library located?
did you have to run any updaters on iPhoto after upgrading to Yosemite?
what fixes have you tried?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library? Compare iPhoto's Advanced preference pane to this screenshot.

23 GB  of other indicates a corrupt file(s).  A restore should resolve.

  • I just updated my macbook pro to 10.6 and I tried to update iphoto and it said i needed  10.7 or later and checked and computer says i have the most up to date softwear

i just updated my mac book to 10.6 says its the latest update and i tried to update iphoto and says i need 10.7 but my compture says 10.6 is the most up to date.  Help

Software, as in applications, maybe. Software as in Operating System, heck no. We're now at 10.8 level, you're two levels behind. Latest iPhoto, as in v9.3.2, is part of iLife'11 and needs a minimum of Lion 10.7 to run.
Since Mountain Lion 10.8 came out, Apple has dropped support for Snow Leopard 10.7, since they only maintain the latest two versions of the OS. So you will be seeing more and more of these "unupgradeable upgrades" in the coming days.

  • My shuffle doesnt open in my pc and i cant see it in itones

it has been only two weeks since i bought my ipod and one morning the sfuffle give me the errors lighs and now My shuffle doesnt open in my pc and i cant see it in itones

I had the same problem. I couldn't get it to work on my XP at home but had no problems on my Windows 2000 pc at work. I ended up downloading the latest updates for both iTunes and Ipod updater and loaded it to my work pc first. Once the ipod was working, I then loaded the latest software at home. It began working after that (after several reboots of the pc) The pc doesn't seem to always recognize when I plug it in, so I move it between to USB ports until does.
I would suggest plugging your ipod into someone else's pc with iTunes to see if they can recognize your ipod. Then have their computer update your ipod with the latest version (1.1.3) You will lose your songs due to the library syncing requirement, but hopefully it will begin working on your pc when the latest software is loaded.

These apps cannot be accepted by your Apple ID.
These apps were already assigned to another Apple ID, and they will be available in that Apple ID's Purchases list. If you don't have access to that Apple ID and want to receive future updates, you will need to purchase the applications.
please help me to fix this problem
    Thanks
    Krishna.

You need to either delete and buy them, or get whoever holds that Apple ID to tell Apple to release them. On a Mac, deleting the applications won't affect their data, but that should be backed up anyway.

  • Unable to update iPhoto and iMovie?

When i try to update iPhoto and iMovie, this first message appears: "Update Unavailable with This Apple ID - This update is for an app downloaded with a different Apple ID. Sign in with that Apple ID and try again" so i press ok and a second message appears: "We could not complete your request - There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (100)"
Can someone explain me what this error means? and what can i do to fix it?
    Thank you

It means what it says: The apps were bought or installed by someone with a different ID to yours. So, in effect, these are belong to that person and you can't update them.
This can arise if you've bought a second hand machine, or if you've bought an open box machine, or even if the Mac was set up for you by the shop where you bought it. Or, if you used one Apple ID to set up the machine and are using a different one now. Of course, it can also be caused by installing pirated software.
    So, what to do:
Where did you get the machine? If it was second hand, or open box then you need to get back to the vendor.
If you used a different Apple ID then sign in with that one.
And, if the software is pirated then delete it and purchase legally.
    Other than that:

I am being prompted to update iPhoto and iMovie, but getting the message: "To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it."  These came already loaded on my laptop, and my email has not changed.  Any ideas or work-arounds?

Has your Apple ID changed, that's the one that matters.
You need to sign in under the account that purchased these apps (did you buy this Mac new)

    Thanks, Peter.
The "link related" and "text related" crashes were what I interpretted here, too, though I'm at a loss on how to proceed given that this is a fresh system and applications.  This is happening with multiple InDesign projects in a design office environment where many others work on the same files and none of the other computers are having problems with these files.  I've removed the same files listed (thank you for those) before and did so effectively with creating the new user account to test with, but it had no effect.  I just tried again though, as these files could easily have becone corrupt again if they were being written to when InDesign crashed.  Will let you know if that makes any difference.  I've also gone through and completely cleaned out the fonts again and once more cleared the font caches.  If need be I'll reboot this system into safe mode and try that way.
    Best,
    Mike

  • I was recently prompted to update iPhoto and make changes to the library.  I did it but it keeps hanging up in step 5 or 6 and won't complete the cycle.  I have used force quit, rebooted and started again several times.  How do i get this to work?

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.
    If that fails:
Restore from your back up, repair the Library and try again.

  • I updated iphoto and images weren't visible.

I updated iphoto and images weren't visible.  Still in the library but not visible.. did all the normal start up fixes like rebuilding thumbnails, database etc --- bt nothing worked...
I copied images folders ORIGINAL MODIFIED etc -to an external harddrive and tried to restore my library from time maching - but now it tells me I don't have the memory...
Of course I deleted the 'new' library and tried ... still the same information.
I am now copying my time machine iphoto library to an external harddrive - but what is the go with this?  I've also lost my iphoto books that took hours to build...
    I'm devastated!
    Any help would be appreciated!

Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.>Click on the Add Library button,
2 -  select the library you want to add from those in the selection window.
3 - make sure that in the rebuild window the checkbox  "Scavange orphaned photos" is checked.
4 - now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
5 - in the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed. Click on the Create button.
Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost.
Note 2:  Your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.
