I updated iTunes so I could download ios5 and now my computer can't see my 3Gs

I have an imac, and everytime I plug my phone in the sound plays, it charges, the camera window app pops up telling me no camera is attached (like it always does) but my itunes wont show the phone as connected.
how do I fix this

I have same problem with 3gs and macbook pro since ios5 its not recogniseing the phone in itunes or iphoto so cant sync anything!!  Im really really p'd off with it now as I have loads of pics I need to get off for a project!! I initially thought it had something to do with the wifi sync so I switched it off which now means I cant sync at all so I am stuffed on music syncing too now!! It must be a glitch somewhere..I have tried everything in the tech help to try and resolve this and nothing has helped, as I said really p'd off!!!

Just updated itunes software on my windows PC and now it won't open because of Runtime error R6034 can you help?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • I have a 4th generation iPod touch which was working perfectly until I downloaded ios5 and now it won't connect to my wi-fi - all other devices working correctly. Where can I download ios 4.3.5 from?

I have a 4th generation iPod touch which was working perfectly until I downloaded ios5 and now it won't connect to my wi-fi - all other devices working correctly. My pc didn't create a backup before updating software so I can't revert back to ios 4.3.5 from there, where can I download ios 4.3.5 from?

I tried just about everything and finally brought my Ipod touch to the apple store.  The tech installed ios 4.3.5 but still no WIFI.  He recommended a $149 exchange - not really a bad deal with a new battery and 90 day warranty, but I thought I'd try again.
The "solution" was bizarre.  On YouTube was a fix involving taking the motherboard out and heating the wifi components with a heat gun.
I did not like that idea, but another involved turning it off, putting it in the freezer for five minutes and restarting.  It worked!  I must admit the fix does not work reliably, so I may still go for the exchange.  Still, I am now convinced that it is a hardware problem.    i remember back in the old days, TV repairmen sprayed a suspected bad resistor with Freon.  The chilled component would work long enough to identify what needed replacement.  Perhaps something similar is happening here.
For anyone wanting to try this, I found it more convenient to place the back of my ipod on a  frozen cold pack until the wifi is restored.  It seems to happen when condensation forms on the face.  I used a towel to wipe off the moisture so as not to add to the problem.

  • I recently updated iTunes to version 11.5.5, and now my iPhone 5 will not sync up completely with iTunes.

I recently updated iTunes to version 11.5.5, and now my iPhone 5 will not sync up completely with iTunes. ITunes will recognize and sync up, but I now cannot manage my music on my phone. Also, all of my playlists on my iPhone were wiped out.  It would be great to retrieve my phone playlists, but more important, be able to manage my music again.  I'm running on Windows 7 and I own iPhone 5.  Suggestions?

I have windows 8, I'm not sure if that has anything to do with anything, but i figured maybe 11.1.4 just doesn't like 8. soooo.. i went onto my computer settings and uninstalled anything and everything made my apple and then reinstalled itunes 11.1.3 and it now reads my ipod nano happy day thanks apple for making something that you can't help me with at all

  • I just downloaded Lion and now my computer just shuts down for no reason. What is its problem?

I just downloaded Lion and now my computer just shuts down for no reason. What is its problem?

I recently made the same mistake.  The thing to do is download the new Quicken Essentials for MAC.  After you install the new version follow the instructions on how to transfer your old files.  There is a way, it just takes a little time and, if I remember correctly, it takes the info from your quicken backup files. Hopefully you had auto back up on and your files are intact.  I didn't and reconstruction was a bear but entirely possible.  The new Quicken is quite different but seems to work quite well.  Good luck.

  • I have a I Mac 6 years old. We downloaded leopard and now the computer won't recognize the mouse or keyboard. What do we do?

I have a 6 year old I Mac. Last night we tried to download leopard and now it doesn't detect the mouse or keyboard. Then, the whole thing wouldn't reboot! Help!

Download means to install off the internet or a computer server. Leopard 10.5, and Snow Leopard 10.6 are only available on CD. A 6 year old iMac should be able to install 10.5 from CD, if the following requirements are met:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2275
And if these are met, 10.6, Snow Leopard can install on them:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-2455
Are you sure you meant download, and you meant Leopard?

  • I updated itunes (10/12/13) to imac and now itunes will not open

I updated my imac with the new update for itunes (10/12/13).  Now iTunes will not open at all

I found another site and it suggested that I go through System Preferences and check downloads again.  The iTunes update was still there indicating that it still needed to be downloaded.  So I downloaded it again and now it works fine.  I hope this might help someone else.
    Thank you

  • I downloaded iOS5 and now I can't get the entries on my calendar, music, and photos

I just downloaded iOS5 on my ipad.  I lost all aps (except the factory settings) photos, music, entries in calendar, etc.  I know how to get the aps back but how do I get everything back?

If you backed up your iPad before you upgraded, just make sure the appropriate boxes are checked in iTunes to sync your Calendar, Contacts, Apps, Music, Photos, etc.   The upgrade wiped the iPad disk so you have to reload everything from your computer (assuming you had synced it to one beforehand).
If not, you should be able to re-load all your apps and Music that you bought from iTunes without buying it again.

  • I updated to ios 6.1.3 on my perfectly good 3gs and now my phone can't see my sim card

Hi everyone, I recently updated my 3gs 16gb from 5.1 to 6.1.3 as suggested by itunes so I went ahead and performed the update, I really wish I had not!, as soon as the update had finished a message came up saying that there was no sim inserted, strange I have updated the other three iphone we have in the house without this problem, I checked with the carrier to confirm that my phone was still officially unlocked and that the sim was working fine ( it is! as I can swap it to other phones every single one recognises the sim but I checked with my carrier anyway.) I do have an active case open on this and i intend to get my phone compensated for one way or another.
Maybe some of you community members know of others with the same issue,
I will clear a few things up first,
I have tried restoring numerous times and each time it fails to see my sim, I have tried updating with the sim in /out.
The phone was working perfectly with no errors prior to the update!
The sim I am using is the one that has been in the phone fully working for some time and the phone accepted all uk sims with no problem.
I upon a suggestion from support that I get the phone checked, which I have done, The result is there is NO hardware problem with the phone!
I am going crazy over this and before anyone suggests I get a new phone! This phone was in full working order prior to the 6.1.3 update the update has done this and as it is not hardware related it is a software error delivered via the update service on itunes.
Any help or suggestions greatly accepted other than buy a new phone as this seems to be an regular reply.
    Thanks in anticipation
    Chris

    Hi imobl,
Thanks for your response, I forgot to add that the five 3uk sims we have in use, I have tried all of them none of them are recongnised non of them have pin codes, I even purchased four more sims Tmobile (original carrier) Vodaphone, 3 and giffgaff.

  • HT1557 10.9.2 update won't update on my imac 2010 at all, and now my computer won't shutdown or restart without a hard boot.  Did anyone have this same problem and figure out how to fix it?

So for the past few weeks I've been trying to update the 10.9.2 update on my imac (2010 - 21.5 inch) and when I attempt to try to update the software my screen goes grey with a Software Updater top bar the shows up on the top of the grey screen and then just quits doing anything (except the screen saver which works after nothing else happens - and that shows you how long I've been waiting for the grey screen to magically do something.  I've attempted downloading the software update then installing it but the same thing happens.  I don't think any of my 3rd party software is the cause of this and i'd rather not uninstall the programs since the update won't even do anything.  Utility is telling me nothing but the usual ARD element unable to be modified.
With the several failed attempts at installing this update (probably around 15x) my computer will not shutdown nor restart on command anymore.  The only way I can shut it down is holding the power button.
I used to have so much faith in Apple products and used to be a devoted user, but since Jobs passed away the direction of Apple has gone down the toilet.

Well Bababooey if you're comparing yourself to a Apple Genius Bar then you should already know my answer, your snarky remark get a snarky reply.  Why would I go to a salesperson to fix my computer problem when I can go directly go to the source itself.  I used to sell Apple computers over 8 years ago and was apple certified before the Genius bar existed. If I am to go about fixing an issue I can't fix on my own I will go to the source itself meaning Apple's programmers and developers - being UI UX Developer myself I know they should have QA'd all platforms and troubleshooted any arising issues.
This was also the first time in the 20 years I've been using a Mac that I even attempted to go on this forum which i thought would put me in connection with a certified Apple representative.  This turned out to be a complete waste of time just being a public forum with no Apple employee involved.  I was hoping to find a quick fix but in turn I was only frustrated with stupid responses such as yours that were in no way an answer to my original question.
BTW I fixed the issue on my own and without your help or Apples help. I'm glad if all forums point here regarding this issue because I now have the answer. The answer I was looking for from someone earlier was as simple as this {Download Maverick and reinstall the platform - it will take an hour to do but afterward 10.9.2 was installed and my computer is now able to shutdown and restart without having to do a hard boot.}  No more software update bar at top and no problems with my drive which I told both you and Grant - I know my computer better than you and I've probably been using them longer than you.
So again Babowa you were so wrong...... and I am right.
Again anyone having the same problem, I suggest reinstalling Maverick and you'll be suprised 10.9.2 will work fine.
