I updated my iPad to 5.0 but not my iPhone 4 so how can u send iMessages to other people?

So how can u send iMessages to people if my iPad is already updated which I really only wanted to update my iPad since I don't want to really mess up my iPhone 4? Or can u still send iMessages from the iPad to my iPhone possibly?

My e-mail (Outlook) syncs to my iMac and my iPad. However, I can read e-mails on my new iPhone, respond to them, and even erase them, but when I go to my computer or iPad afterwards, they still appear unopened and I have to open each one and close it again so it doesn't show up as an unread e-mail. This does not happen with the iMac and iPad; deleting it on one of those deletes it on the other as well. What am I doing wrong?

We bought the iPhones and Ipad so that we could send emails while we are out of the Office, but we are not able to do this unless we can find a WiFi connection. Incoming emails are fine. We use IMAP, for Business emails just incase this is relevant and I know that Hotmail is POP3.
Our technical IT knowledge is not great, so we look forward to your suggestions as to how to resolve this.

Media and apps are not part of the backup. They need to be re-synced from your itunes library or re-downloaded from the store.

Settings > Mail, Contact, Calendars. Scroll down to Calendars and set "Sync" as desired.

I previously owned an iPad. I want to restore my iBook collection from my iPad to my Macbook. I can only see my collections but not the books. How can I restore it from my iPad backup?

I prevsiouly owned an Ipad. Before selling it, I backup it on my Macbook. When the new Mavericks has been released, i upgraded my Mac. Now that I have iBooks on my Mac, I want to restore my iBook collection from my previous Ipad to my Mac. On my Mac, I can only see the iBooks collection of my previous iPad but not the books that I have purchased. I probably had more than a hundred books on my collection (in epub and pdf formats). I have already tried transferring purchases in iTunes and adding to my Library but to no avail.
Can anyone give me a solution to this.

Restore as a NEW device to test. If this solves it, that means there is some corruption in your backup file, or maybe it's one of your apps causing the trouble. If the problem is still there, you should take it to the Genius Bar at an Apple Store for evaluation.

A photo shows up in "photos" but not in "events". How can I get it to show in events?

I have several photos that are in "photos" but I can't find them in "events" I want to use these photos to create a photobook but can't locate them in my events folder. I have tried to drag them into the events folder but they won't transfer. Can anyone help me with this?

Try this:
Select the photos in question in the Photos section.
Click on the Flag button at the bottom of the screen.
Got to the Events section.
Click on the event you want to add the pictures to. (Create an event if necessary.)
In the menu select Events > Add Flagged Photos to Selected Event.

You need an IMAP or Exchange account to do this. I believe Yahoo offers IMAP, at an additional cost, so check with them.

I was given an iPad a couple of weeks ago and had just got used to it.
Now it changes.
I don't have time to spend trawling through whatever to find pre-launch examples that I don't know about.
This is my first apple product and I trusted them to deliver a satisfactory upgrade.
In my, limited, view, they haven't.
If the problem emanates from the "upgrade", whether technical or aesthetic, then it is Apple's problem.
If the problems emanate from misuse, then it is not Apple.
Judging by the number of comments on this and other forums, there are a significant number of people with issues.
The best companies listen to feedback and learn from it, then they do "sort it out". Those that don't, lose market share.
As for me, I didn't want an iPad in the first place, it doesn't offer me that many advantages in what i do, and if using it isn't a good experience, i'll just go back to pencil and paper.

When I record calendar events on my iphone or ipad I use a 24 clock, which is the basis on which my business runs. I cannot do the same on my Macbook, which is very frustrating and counter-intuitive (i.e. using am/pm). I asked my Apple support here in South Africa. The rep' said he could not answer immediately but would get back to me. I'm still waiting. Surely this is not a 'big' or 'unusual' problem?
