  • Dropped iPhone and now it won't turn on??? :(

Dropped my iPhone 3GS and now it won't turn on. I didn't even drop it that far or anything but now for some reason it won't turn on. I've already tried resetting it several times and it hasn't worked. I plugged it in to charge it and nothing happened and when i plug it in the computer with the dock, nothing happens and it won't even show up under devices in iTunes.
    Please help.

I believe the correct technical term is... "you broke it".
Take it in for service. An out of warranty replacement from Apple is US$149.

  • I have just updated my phone and now it won't turn back on. The display is currently black with the apple logo and a lot of sentences in white writing at the top all starting [NAND]????? what can i do to fix this?

I have just downloaded the new update and now my phone wont turn back on. The screen is blank with this across the top on the page:
[NAND]_findflashmediaandkeepout:601 physical nand blcok offset1......... (several more sentences similar to this saying error etc)
This happened before when the battery went dead and i plugged it in to charge, but started working again after a while. This time however its not doing anything.
    HELP!

Might be hardware failure. Take the iPhone to the nearest Apple store
for evaluation. Make a Genius Bar appointment to avoid delay at the store.

  • I tried to update my iPhone 5s now it won't turn on.

I've plugged it into my laptop and it came up on iTunes stating the phone is in recovery mode, I clicked to restore the iPhone and it is currently doing so now. I don't understand how I updated my ipad and that had no issues yet my phone did? Will my phone turn on after the iPhone has restored? I'm worried as I've not even had the phone that long. I had no issues before the update.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I have recently just updated my iphone 5s to an update that I have received today about fixing a problem in China. I updated the phone. It turned itself on and hasn't turned itself back on nor can I turn it on at all.

  • I updated my iPhone and now it won't accept my Apple password.

After "upgrading" to iOS7, my phone continues to tell me that my Apple password is incorrect. I've changed the password, received confirmation that the new password is good, entered the new one, and - - - been told that the password is incorrect. Except it worked just fine logging on to this fine support network, so I don't think it's the password. I also checked the settings, and my user name and password are ok there.
Apple customer support is being very nice, but offering no solutions. I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction. Thanks!

  • Updated my Ipad and now it won't turn on

So I have searched and tried things here and there and it will not turn on since I updated via WIFI, the apple logo comes up then it gone, or it says to plug into itunes, tried that it didn't work, tried holding the power and home button down 10 secs that didn't work, tried holding the home button while plugging in USB that didn't work. What else can I try????

First try a Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least Ten seconds... (But can take Longer)... until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons
If no joy... Try a Restore...
1: Connect the device to Your computer and open iTunes.
2: If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane.
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the Steps in this article to force the device into Recovery Mode.

  • HT4061 We just updated our mom's iPhone 4, and now it won't turn on.  When it does, it says "iTunes" and wants me to connect to it.  Nothing I do makes it go away, and I can't get it to turn on.  Help!

I just updated my mom's Iphone 4, and now it won't turn on.  When it does, there is a "itunes" icon, with the cord picture, which is asking me to connect to Itunes, I believe.  Can't get past this screen to even turn it on.  What do I do without having to restore her entire phone, which I have no idea how to do that?

You need to restore using the recovery mode described in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212 and may need to do that more than once to succeed.

  • I updated to iOS 8 on my iPhone 5c and now it won't turn on and I know it was fully charged any ideas?

Have updated my iPhone 5c to iOS 8 and restored it and now it won't turn on.  I have tried plugging it in even though I know it was fully charged, I have shut down my rebooted my computer and iTunes from scratch and reconnected my phone and still nothing, any ideas?

    Hello Nikmuz,
It sounds like your screen is either black so it looks like it is not on, or it is just plain not turning on at all and it is also not being recognized in iTunes. I would recommend the followng troubleshooting from this article to help you determine whether that is the case or not, named:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
Toggle the ringer switch to see if the unit vibrates. If it does, it could be that iPhone is getting power, but is not displaying any image.
While connected to the iPhone charger, try to reset the iPhone.
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

You can try a reset, hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.

  • TS3988 How do I change my iCloud account id on my iPhone?  I changed my Apple ID and iCloud Id on my PC but I can not change it on my iPhone and now it won't back up.

How do I change my iCloud account information on my iPhone?  I had to change my Apple ID and my iCloud ID on my PC but, I wasn't able to change it on my iPhone and now it won't back up.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple,  Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > store, scroll down and tap your ID)
