I updated my iphone which then restored it but now i get get my apps or music back?

You resync it to iTunes. As long as you have evertyhing in iTunes, of course. If you did not sync your content to your computer, you can still redownload your apps. Music, you'd need to buy again if you didn't back it ulnas you should have.

don't ask me why this worked, but it did for me last night. In iTunes, where your device shows up on the left side, I double clicked on it. It then allows you to change the name like you can for changing file/folder names. I changed 1 letter on the name of the ipod and hit enter. I then right clicked on the new ipod name and chose restore from backup. My choices for backup was the original name of the ipod only and not the name i had just changed it to. I told it to go ahead and backup from the old name figuring I would get the same results, but not the case. It restored it with all app, music and pictures with one exception...all of the settings, email setup and information within the apps was lost. Atleast that an easier fix than starting all over. Hope this will work for you guys too with the same issue.

Updated my iphone 5s, and restored backup, but am stuck in recovery loop
Screen is always showing that I need to plug into itunes, but now the computer will not see it when I try, all of this happened while trying to update thru itunes.
I've tried to turn the phone off and plug in, tried hitting the home button while off then plug in, and nothing I have read in here has worked yet!

Ipod touch 4th gen..updated to the most recent iOS and can not synch to get my apps and music back
... my ipod locked up. I found the instructions to reboot. I then had to reset it to factory settings. Now the ipod will not synch to bring back all my apps and music (which I can see on my itunes account). When I connect to the computer with the USB cable, it opens up itunes and goes right to the 'set up your ipod' screen and asks me to restore from a backup. I have done this at least three times. I even dissabled my security / antivirus software and still no success. What steps am I missing?

If he still has any backup, for example as part of the computer backup routine, he could restore the settings and data again by replacing the iTunes backup folder. The folder is located here:

How do i get the apps and music back on my iPod 4th generation after restoring it?
My ipod touch 4th generation was being really slow and crashing on almost every app. I have had it for 1 and a half years. I decided to back everything up and restore it . This worked almost flawlessly; the problem is that i have lost my apps and music.I still have my photos and contacts and the background is the same and the wifi automatically connected. Your phone is locked to a carrier. Only a SIM from that carrier can be used to activate the phone. Ask the "friend of your mom's" to which carrier the phone is locked. You'll then need to contact that carrier and see if you are eligible to have the phone unlocked. If not, the phone is useless to you.
