I updated my ipod and lose all my music
how do i get my music back on my ipod lose it all.
If you do have your iTunes content stored in a backup somewhere, on your iPod, or the hard drive it was originally on is no longer available, I'm afraid you are out of luck.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases again via iCloud using the instructions in this link.
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
For all other non-iTunes purchased content, you'll need to rerip or redownload them from their original source.
For the future, consider making backups of your iTunes library or your entire PC.

Is it possible for your ipod just to stop working and lose all your music

Is it possible for your ipod just to stop working and lose all your music
The answer to that is yes... Having the data on the device alone is a recipe for disappointment.

I was trying to update my Iphone and lost all my music on the PC how do I get the music back on my phone?
Connect in recovery mode and restore, as described in this article:

Sync it from your iTunes library.
If necessary
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:

If you updated via iTunes, it the synced media like music was not in your iTunes library it is gone. Yo will have to get non-Tunes purchases the same way you obtained them before. -
Itunes is not letting me add songs from my new computer to my iphone.
Instead it wants me to sync my music library and lose all the songs on my phone. i have over 700 songs i cannot lose them just because i want to add 10 new songs... PLEASE HELP. also i am using the new CONFUSSING ITUNES 11.This has always been the case.
All iphones have always only synced to one computer at a time.
Syncing to another will indeed erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
Copy everything from your old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to the new one. -

- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown/off-line, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
- Apple will do nothing without a court order

HT201210 i updated my ipod and lost all my songs ?
Can i get them back?
They should all be on your computer. Sync them back
Certainly you did not attempt an update without making sure that everything was on your computer first. -
I restored my iPod and now all my music isn't syncing
I restored my iPod because it had a button on the screen that wouldn't go away. Before I restored it, I backed it up on iTunes. Then I hit restore from backup and all my apps got put back on my iPod but only about 100 out of 400 songs were synced onto my iPod. All my songs are even in the library! I tried to sync it again but that didn't do anything. How do I get the other 200+ songs back on my iPod?
What exactly happens when you try to sync? Any errors?
Do the non-syncing songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

I'm getting a message that says itunes cannot run b/c some required files are missing. Please reinstall itunes. I'm scared to because I don't want to lose my music.
Reinstalling iTunes simply replaces the application. It shouldn't affect your media. You do have backups, right?

Updated ipod last night and now when turned on tells me to coonect to itunes (picture of usb cable with arrow to itunes). I can't connect to itunes on computer because apple application support can't be found. Tells me to uninstall then reinstall itunes. Will I lose all my music or is it still on my ipod?
Under normal circumstances, an uninstall/reinstall doesn't touch your content. (That being said, it's still always a good idea to maintain a current backup at all times in case of disasters.)

I have collected alot of music over the past couple years and the new update for the itouch says that it will erase all music and videos on the ipod. Is there anyway to do the update and not lose all my music or is there a way to take all the music off my ipod and store it on my computer to put back on after the update? Any help
... I have had numerous computers over the past years
Let me guess, you have had numerous Windows computers, all of which crashed or became worthless virus-ridden junk. Happens every day, yet people think Macs are expensive.
Anyway, you are going to need the assistance of third party utilities to extract your iPod Touch's content. See wjosten's procedure here:

I did a software upgrade to IOS6 and my Iphone4S is now unable to update. Do I lose all my contacts and calendar entries when I restore?
You should be syncing all your contacts and calendars with your computer, either via iCloud or iTunes, so it is easy to re-sync them back to the phone after you restore.

I tried updating my iPod, and ever since it has not worked at all. If I hold in the lock & home button, it will tell me to plug it into iTunes. Once I do that, it says it will restore but every time, restoring it fails. My iPod is not working at all, and I really have no idea what to do. It is just a black screen, and occasionally the white apple will appear as if it were turning on, but it won't turn on. I just need some suggestions on what to do!
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.
